- I've been sitting on the Marvel Legends Black Widow Crimson Dynamo wave for a month or so, constantly putting off a review because of new things popping into the mailbox, but I finally get to crack into some Hasbro goodness this week. I was ready!

I absolutely love the Taskmaster MCU design....it looks like something a person who can counter any fighting style would wear when they know they will be taking on superhuman fighters and people in powered armor.

Awesome stuff. I feel exactly the same about the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, used to LOVE that series so much and I learned a ton about characters I never even purchased the comics for. In fact, that's something I really like about the Bucky-Cap mold: it reminds me of those character drawings from the Handbook.
Looks like a good wave! I'd have a strong impulse to paint that Crimson Dynamo bright red - And the under-sized sheild for taskmaster is actually much larger in the trailer 🤔 Again tho, Hasbro probably based it on concept art just like Red Guardian 🤷♂️ I still like the wave and great review Mr. Fwoosh!

Have to agree about many things. The reading of the OHOTMU (Official handbook of the marvel universe-deluxe edition---that is the one I had) and having it bring attention to characters that I hadn't known about, is an absolute thing I did also. If I saw a cool looking character, like Spymaster, I would hunt issues with them in it to see what it was about (there is a reason that Ghost, is such an appealing character to me, he teamed up with Spymaster, and I got the book because Spymaster was cool looking and then Ghost kills him...and it made Ghost a formidable threat to Tony Stark in my mind. ... Ghost was also cool looking so that helped)
This wave does a good job, it fails a bit on accessories... most notably an alternate head for Red Guardian, but still several good must have figures, along with a great baf that may not have been anyone's first choice for the version of the character, but it just looks good in it's own right. I haven't ordered either the Demogoblin or Crimson Dynamo waves yet, but plan on doing both, fortunately the prices are pretty constant at bbts so I'm not panicking on ordering it today, just trying to work out which wave is more important to me..
I love the old marvel universe handbooks.
I think it would have been cool if winter solider came with 2 interchangeable robot arms one with the red star and one with the white star, so you could choose what era it is for bucky.

@@ninjatodd123 Heh, yeah, whole waves take about 12 hours start to finish, and for some reason my edit program wasn't registering all my keystrokes.
I have a theory that Red Guardian is going to be him “post-restoration” for some kind of triumphant return for the final battle in the movie. Hence the trimmer figure and cleaner cut hair and beard.
I wish I had thought of that.
I did a little painting on Bucky and filled in the flesh tone within his mask with black, he looks much more intense now. Also I took an X-acto knife and scuffed up crossbones skull paint to make him more battle worn and rugged looking. He was looking a little too clean for me. I'm absolutely in love with Taskmaster from this wave...he's been fighting MCU Daredevil on my bookshelf for the past two weeks straight!!!
I love when you do a lot of action figures and then you get to the butt kicking action! Haha! Its always my favorite part! Haha
I had to buy 2 of the Crossbones from this wave on account of bad QC on Hasbro's part. My first one had 2 left boots (but the correct feet). I got the other one a week later, and that had a QC screwup too, his abdomen consisted of 2 front pieces sandwiched together, so he had abs on his lower back too. I just swapped parts between the 2 for one perfect Crossbones, but it's absurd I purchased the same figure twice, only for both to have bad QC.

My favourite part of a full wave review is always the Build-a-figure, especially since I know I'd not easily be able to buy a whole wave to get every piece. Only BAFs I've got are Wendigo and Endgame Hulk.

I love the movie black widow figure with the deluxe head. My favorite figure out of the wave next to taskmaster. I passed on the comic figs.
Also loved the zoom-in on the trigger finger.
Spymaster is still the wildest figure choice, I haven’t seen one review where somebody knows him

My Black Widow figure came out of the package with the right leg (knee joint to the right foot) really loose. Anyway to fix that? Great video with funny visuals as usual. Thanks for the informative laughs!

Robo you can put black widows screwdrivers fully in her back pack just lift from the bottom of the pack gently and they’ll fit.
I didn't look for the holes on bottom, did I?
The batons for black widow can be bent so both fit. You insert the left one inside the backpack, all the way through, then pull the bottom to the opposite side so it looks like it’s going in straight. Then do the same with the other side. If you want then displayed outside of the backpack of course you can remove them and straighten them

My taskmasters arm broke off at the forearm the moment i tried bemding the elbow out the package. It ended up being a glued piece. I just glued it back and have had no problems since. Love the look so much i went and bought the diamond select taskmaster as well. Soo cool. I got the comics version of the diamond select as well.

If you have a Quantum suit Black Widow head from the Avengers End Game Target 2 pack, thAt head sculpt works really well on the new Black Widow. It's more mobile, and a little more movie accurate if you're into that sort of thing. Just take some rubbing alcohol and get rid of the white on end of the hair.

Great review. I’m a little put out with Dorkside toys. I pre-ordered a Black Widow in March because with the movie delay I was worried these wouldn’t get released in store for months. Early May and I’ve found this entire wave at multiple stores several times including BW however my Dorkside toys pre-order has yet to ship. I keep passing BW in the store because I’ve already paid through DST. I hope these ship soon.

I got Taskmaster, I waited to get Red Guardian but I didn't like that he didn't have a mask head. I just started collecting and I'm enjoying it, but my stored have nothing, my Walgreens has had the same Namor for like 2 years.
I don't feel like going through all the comments to see if someone else has said it, but Crossbones' twin sawed-off double-barrel shotguns are a matched brace of one of the accessories that came with 90's Cable.
And they're Nerf Barrel Breaks.

My local target had the whole wave. Skipped them and grabbed the white suit deluxe widow.

Just picked up winter soldier at a walgreens out of town where we always find good stuff.
I truly don’t understand how they couldn’t take the Infinity War Widow head, which hits Scarlett’s facial features pretty damn well, and just add a red hair piece to it. Like, if you’re gonna do a movie figure, why go back to something that only has a passing resemblance to the actor when you already have her face sculpt pretty much nailed.
Just got Spy Master for like 11 dollars on Amazon I quite like him
On my crossbones I took the jacket from the neca terminator 2 t-800 and it looks pretty good

My gripe with Taskmaster is the head. 1. Unhooded would look better because of the back design crom the film and 2. We see him unhooded lore in the trailers.

The only figure I have from this wave is Bucky, but I wanna track down the other comic figs. I ended up wiggling his little chest harness off though, just cause it was too distracting for some reason.
I dunno about the MCU figures though, Red Guardian is pretty tempting, heck even the taskmaster looks better than I thought it would. Ah heck I'm getting the whole wave aren't I?

May 2021 Black Widow movie still not out .... the figs for this movie meanwhile all got sold off the shelves like a year ago at this point. I love that they make obscure figs like Spymaster so, even though it's rather plain fig, I snapped him up without hesitation.
