in 25 years of travelling to Indonesia (probably 20 times) I have NEVER once felt unsafe; day or night. A smile and a bigger smile returned - that is orang Indonesia. Truly the warmest people in the world.

yeah, Papua (most of it) is 'banned' for tourists, sadly. Aceh is likely fine; but I haven't been up there. @@rio1711

Glodok is china town its actually safe here,if u want to go very dangerous place,priok,or north jakarta near porth,because its route for hidden drugs trade from another country

*and don't get confused when Indonesians say "hati-hati" (yes, it literally means; be careful, but...), it's just our way of saying "take care" and our form of pray so that you're always in a good and safe condition
Salemba mostly known as students fight area, or just fight between community due to social issues since the 60's. But hard tough criminal/mafia coordinated area would be tanjung priok - warakas north jakarta, sea ports where the goods delivers: thiefs, drugs, illegal debt collectors, etc
Kebanyakan tempat di Jakarta memang aman, tapi sebaiknya selalu berhati-hati dimanapun meskipun kamu merasa tempat itu aman, karena kejahatan tidak mengenal waktu dan tempat ❤

The title of the video makes other travellers afraid to go to jakarta, it's better to change it, because jakarta is a relatively safe place, in several places in jakarta, such as in this video in matraman east jakarta, just don't hang around above 12pm, sometimes there are motorcycle gangs that sometimes create chaos, and even then not every night, besides that jakarta is a safe place, but always remain careful.

Menurut ku jakarta macam glodok, matraman, tanah abang,salemba masih relatif aman bagi siapapun termasuk turis sih. Kalo pengen tempat sangat berbahaya coba uji nyali pergi ke kota Medan -Sumatera yang dijuluki Gotham City tapi memiliki Kuliner makanan paling Enak di Indonesia 👍😁

Those places are safe in normal terms, I mean, if you want to find 'thrills', try the North of Jakarta, such as Warakas, or the port area of Tanjung Priok. When I was a boy, I used to visit my uncle there, he was in the Navy, whenever we visited, I'm the one slept IN the car at night, since many unattended vehicles lost its tires at the time 😂
