Tom Hopkins is to sales what Tom Brady is to football. No matter what your level of play is now, Tom teaches as he encourages you to do your best.

How to master the art of selling was my first sales book in 1983 starting as a sales man. This book from Tom Hopkins is still on my list of best sales books ever to read. After 37 years I am still in sales.

Listened to Tommy when I was a rookie "in home" 1 call closer I wore that cassette tape out running to "sits" paid my due and in 2 years became the top guy, god bless.
The "they gotta like me" before they can buy my widget has been po pooed by other trainers on this channel especially in the B2B arena.....I still believe it will get you the benefit of the doubt and the deal more times than not.

Usually when I hear a No there is a dial tone after, and not a chance to respond. Selling on the phone is a whole different beast.

@@SalesmanPodcast That of course is the easy answer it's something I must be doing. cold calling is easy and no one just hangs up on you when you just mention the name of your company. I love the show and Tom Hopkins tons a value! It does work if there is initially some interest in what you have like being on the fence.

You need to be a lot more upfront with how the sales call is going to go and get a lot of objections out of the way early, that way when you ask for the sale, it won't blindside them and give them a kneejerk reaction to say no and hang up.

28:50 mark, 'Think, and Grow Rich' was written by Napoleon Hill (not Peale), although its an innocent mistake, as Tom has read so many of these authors, its easy to mix them up once in a while.

In Tom's books he uses the qualification sequence "NEADS". He talks about it here - www.linkedin.com/pulse/6-skills-every-sales-pro-needs-tom-hopkins/
