Loin d'Ici is the one saving grace of the juries, that song is literally the French "Do It For Your Lover" it's been 5 years and I still don't get why people love that song so much. But yeah I also kind of freaked out at Keiino ngl, I'm pretty sure it was my favourite with Italy.
Part of this frankly is that it would be a lot more fair if the jury's and televote were actually judging the same performance, I suspect at least some of the discrepancies would be toned down.

City Light was one of my all time favorites. I can't believe It would't make it to the final. I think Eurovision should start using televote only again. I mean, It all about polítics when It comes to the Jury sometimes.
Iceland 2012, Denmark 2018, Georgia 2011, Poland 2016, Norway 2019 and Belgium 2017 all were in my top 5 of their year, thank you televote I would have been devastated if none of them qualified!
So some of these, especially the iconic ones, I understand why the televote saved them over the jury. But Blanche, Greta Salome/Jonsi, Jonida Maliqi, KEiiNO and Ieva Zasimauskaite (to name a few) had decent or unique singing voices, so not sure what the juries judging criteria was!!!

A singer could sing out of tune one of the nights and not the other, or something else could go wrong, which will make the juries or the televoters will rank a certain entry much higher or lower.
Yeah they could but remember that most artists rehearse MANY times to get the polish right. What were the technical issues? Norway ended up 6th on the night due to the jury vote can you believe it despite coming first or second in televoting!
Many songs that made me go "what, how could they", some that are like "I'd be happy not to see them in the final"... with each passing year I'm more convinced that the mixed/official results are the most accurate ones (or the ones that I agree with the most).
For those wondering, the reason Norway 2019 is here is because they had huge technical issues in the Semi Final Jury Show, which they fixed for the final. And Belgium 2017 was because Blanche wasn’t great in her semi final jury show and was way better in the final!
Juries look at other things than just how enjoyable a song is. The vocals of the male singer weren't that strong and the song itself is quite generic, of course the ethnic singing was unique and undoubtely gave them credit.
Its really showing that one half of the jury can vote really different to the other, while the televote is actually more representative, even though only the half of the voters may actually vote. I really don't understand why only half of the jurys/televoters may vote each semi final.
take out norway and azerbaijan and replace them with croatia and romania. that's it. the jury got the overall top 10 correct in semi 2, so no changes there
There are so many that I wish would have stayed in the semis (mainly Serhat and TIX), but at least I'm grateful televoting saved Keiino, Ieva and Rasmussen

Juries putting Saara Aalto so incredibly low still perplexes me. It was a pretty mainstream song and it was sung and staged well. What was there to mark down?
The song was exactly that, mainstream. Catchy, but not saying much. The show relied too much on trying to be quirky and different and not enough on the actual talents of the singer. Finland tried to sell Saara to everyone_so hard_ and it ended up pissing off the Finns, which is not really a great look. There were memes made about how no one can escape the content created about her since she was literally _everywhere_, and always overhyped. The song was never going to be anything groundbreaking. Not in Eurovision. There was nothing special in the song nor the performance when you take into consideration that it was made for the ESC. I'm Finnish and personally I don't think we even deserved to qualify that year. But what's done is done, the final results speak for themselves and thank god we did something different (and in the right way) this year with Blind Channel.

I can´t believe that in one of the weakest years in recent history, the judges placed Kasia Mos 11th " the semifinal. They did Eldrine even worse in 2011,one of the few actually impactul entries that year.
How is it possible that in 2012 Norway was last by juries in the semifinal and still qualified, but in the final it got more points from juries than from the televotes??

People forget that the juries mark their points basically based on the dress rehearsal so I wonder how many of these songs that were great in the live semis had wobbly rehearsals and that’s why they underperformed in the scoring.
The jury isn´t judging the same show as the televoters. They watch the show the day before. I've read that Keiino had some issues during the jury performance and asked EBU to get to perform again, but was declined.
Hungary 2013, Romania 2013 and 2017, Poland 2014-2016, Armenia 2015, Finland 2018 and Norway 2019 and 2021 were predicted correctly. But Azerbaijan 2021 was not.
Imagine Blanche wouldn’t qualified if it was only juries but she came 4th in the final.
And she came 13th in the semi with the juries but she came 9th in the juries in the final it shows how she improved

There were TOO MANY Eastern Europe countries in their semi-final including Russia. It isn't surprising that local televoters saved Belarus.
