@@ZelX- This is why no one should be surprised about low ball offers from pawn shops. Aside from all the work- listing items, taking pictures, answering questions, boxing up and shipping the items (in many cases), and sometimes dealer with idiot buyers on eBay and FB Market place- They also have to assume the risk of not getting as much as they thought they would. If it were me and a seller came in with an item that I can't find a comp on, I'm paying as little as I can for it.

$25 was a killer deal for that Boombox. Some markets that sells for $200 with all the features working.
That boombox is a late production model. Bought one new just like it less than 20 years ago and been sitting unused for years. I’d be thrilled to get $25 out of mine.

I've seen a few of these Corona's here in Chicago. They were popular back in the day with travelers. Price goes between 300 and 1100 depending on which version an condition. As a lover of typewriters, if it was working and I could buy ribbon to make it work, I'd pay 700 for it. You probably could get more if you left it online.
Ebay always has them for 495 and can't sell another one just sold for 185. Like cameras everyone thinks they are cool but try and get it fixed can be a nightmare.
This one in particular on a second hand market with a business I wouldn't ask over 180. I looked up many of them. The one thing about this one that throws me off is the one orange key and the few black ones. Can't find that so I feel they could be a later rendition of the models I seen or repairs

When dealing with people in the store, or housecalls, out picking, etc, giving more than the seller is asking, which in my opinion is just being fair with them, is something I do as well. Been told I'm crazy to do that, but I figure it is just good business and good karma. If it is a bargain marked price at a sale, flea market, etc, then I just buy it and walk, no negotiation....and have ended up being given a discount the next time around by sellers known for not giving discounts just because I "never ask for a discount". Has worked for me for 33 years.

I think it’s absolutely hilarious that he gives away the free Uline gifts they include in their orders. At my company, all of the Uline freebies are gathered throughout the year then drawn randomly by our employees at the Christmas party. And we buy a lot of stuff from Uline so we get pretty high quality gifts.

The dad of the kid with the hat is an idiot.. he really had the nerve to say “that’s fair” when Pete offered him double what he was asking for the hat? That’s not fair, that’s beyond generous.. I wouldn’t even make him an offer on that hat even if it might actually be worth $150, it’s such a unique piece to find the right buyer for its not even worth the time you’d have to invest.

i dont think i've ever seen a customer happy when pete offers to pay more for an item than what they are asking. it happens so often, i expected it this time and i was right. the kid couldn't even say 'thank you' when pete doubled his money. pete, you're a better man than me. if, after offering so many people much more money for an item than they were asking for, and they rarely ever seem to be able to muster a thank you...i would probably stop offering more and just give them what they asked for..
He looks to be Russian. Im Estonian…we have a very dry sense of humor & most of us don’t even greet passerbys w/ a smile otherwise we think they’re up to something no good.
