The fact that Jeff Daniel's agent advised him not to do this film as it would end his career. Then it essentially making him a household name is the best form or irony

Whether it was getting revenge on Seabass by getting him to pay for their stuff or with Harry here, I just love how Lloyd becomes a mastermind when it comes to revenge while being a complete idiot otherwise.
Well, it would have made one lousy movie, making him a complete idiot a hundred percent of the time 😂 The writer had to have him break character for the sake of advancing the plot and making it funnier. A comedy that relies on just one core principle, stupidity in that case, is bound to be pretty dull after a while. Another such principle, malice, demonstrated by Lloyd when he seeks revenge, requires such characteristics as cunning, shrewdness, resourcefulness etc. And thus stands at odds with Lloyd's main characteristic as an idiot.
Most alcoholic items like Whiskey etc are 40 %, some like Wild Turkey 101 is 50%, Everclaer is 90%, so what had you been using yo reach 96% ? Engine cleaner?.
The bathroom scene has to be the most hilarious scene in the movie, but humiliating for Lloyd. They must have paid Jeff Daniels a pretty penny to do that scene. The movie was roughly a year old when I first saw it. It was in a flight from LA to New York's Kennedy Airport. It was on a 747, and I was seated on the upper level. When Lloyd ran into the bathroom and got on the toilet, everyone on the plane shouted and howled with laughter. Even from the upper level and with the headset on, I could hear everyone on the lower level shouting with laughter. You would think that a house that size would have at least ten bathrooms.

@@Modernww2fare Exactly. In this movie they were idiots but they were oblivious to how stupid they were and were playing it straight as two idiots who just happened to be idiots. The sequel did the opposite and they acted like they were being stupid for the sake of being stupid and knew it
The acting in this scene...Duplicity at it's finest! And the wardrobe, Harry in the loose sumptuous bathrobe, Lloyd in the expensive "mountain fashion" outfit, shirt tucked in, complete with feathered cowboy hat.
lmao lloyd having his emotional moment dressed in that outfit has me ROLLING. Are you sure you went to the right bar?? "Oh yeah.. im sure.. the lobby bar... in the .. lobby". HAHA
