The Lpool v Man clip. I was at that game ,my 1st time at Anfield. I Stood on the kop ,well i tried to stand. The kop in those days was a life form all of its own, , Swaying, Sweating, Swearing, Singing, incredible. I remember like it was just yesterday ,when Bobby Charlton pulled the trigger. Charlton hit it so hard & i mean hit it, the kop went as silent as a dream- a bad dream at that. Then we all realised we had just witnessed a great goal , a fantastic strike that only Charlton could produce. The KOP THEN APPLAUDED AS THE KOP DOES. Then we all ran outside to the Anfield Rd end for a friendly chat with the Utd fans . Happy Days!
Yes, it was definitely DC. Bearing in mind this is all taken from the BBC's MOTD coverage, unlikely to have Hugh Johns featured on it because he was always an ITV (Midlands) man.
Great stuff. Really tough players; most of whom earnt not much more than a living wage, and it was common for a player to spend an entire career at the same club. Aye, football was much better when I were a lad!
