Liverpool, Forest, & WBA were all just pure class and scary then. Amazing stuff when you look back at it.

Southampton were not too far behind, neither were Ipswich Town.
At the time of writing, only 2 of those 5 are in the top flight now and one of the pair only just scraped from relegation.
The game now has allowed a smattering of clubs to control the way the game is funded now.
Almost like society, a small group own all the wealth while the other 86/85 clubs get the scrapings

Laurie Cunningham at one point was the best player in the world, when he signed and suceeded at Real Madrid, a truely amazing footballer in awful conditions, RIP

A true trailblazer. Saw a documentary a few years ago saying his own Madrid team mates were kicking lumps out of him. Disgraceful behaviour.

Pat Rice - not only did he lead Arsenal to the FA Cup, he also was part of three double winning teams (one as a player and two as a coach. Not to mention coaching the Invincibles.

I went to EVERY West Brom home game "that season" when I was 15,
the match games atmospheres, were like a New Years Eve PARTY,
in THOSE DAYS you could meet the players after the games,
get their autographs, and have a real chat with them,
there isnt a West Brom team player from that season that I didnt chat with,
Cunningham, Regis, Robson, Bomber Brown, (and Big Ron), "I met them ALL".

In the 1969-70 season West Ham fielded 3 Black players , Clyde Best , John Charles and John Cushley , , so WBA were not the first club to field 3 Black players

SOME PRETTY GIRLS THERE WEREN'T THERE?AW GIRLS! IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THESE WERE IN THE JIM CALLAGHAN AND JIMMY CARTER DAYS.THIS WAS ALL BEFORE THE MRS THATCHER DAYS AND RONALD REAGAN DAYS.FOR OUR GENERATION IT ALWAYS SEEMED THAT THOSE TWO WERE THERE FOREVER DURING OUR EARLY YEARS.I COULDN'T IMAGINE A TIME BEFORE MRS THATCHER! IN 1977 AND 78 EVEN 1975 AND 1976 THAT WAS A LONG LONG TIME BEFORE WHEN WE HADN'T EVEN HEARD OF THE LEGENDARY MRS THATCHER! ALL THOSE YEARS,MEETING PRESIDENT REAGAN!

30:12 Jimmy Greenhoff was a criminally undervalued footballer. Never put in less than 110% on the field and had real skill and composure to back it up.
