      The most pathetic thing was the entire issue with the female boxer. They updated the OFC rules from 2014, where a woman was only allowed to have a peak testosterone level of around 3 nmol/L, which was about 16% higher than the highest evidence-based values for women in medicine. They later updated it after the last Olympics to 9 nmol/L, and trans athletes were allowed to have the same 16% fluctuation, which elevated it to 10 nmol/L. So, they literally changed the rules to allow trans athletes and genetically doped athletes to have up to three times the amount of testosterone as a normal woman. I'm not an athlete, but I’ve been using steroids for a decade, and even having just 50% more testosterone than a normal woman or man is a huge advantage. Allowing 300% more is insane.

      Keep in mind inclusivity such as lgbt is a false construct since it silences all those who disagree along with feminism. To include all despite their racial or religious or ethnic or political or scientific ideology can’t mean to except all unfortunately. Take Taiwan for example. Taiwans goal is for Taiwan to be recognized. China wants Taiwan not to be recognized. If you let china in but Taiwan out then you’ve sided with the Chinese. If you let Taiwan in but china out then you’ve pissed off china. If you let both in you piss off china. And if you keep both out you’ve pissed off both countries. Such an annoying paradox isn’t it? Same could be said for the Israeli-Hamas conflict. Israel wants to be recognized, its only goal. Hamas and hezbolla and the Houthis and the entirety of Iran want Israel gone. Man this is depressing.

      The Olympic Games in antiquity were dedicated to the Youth of each known ancient Greek City State. The Germans kept this idea with the moto TO ALL THE YOUTH OF THE WORLD (note: not to to all the aryans of the world (!)). For Jesse Owens it was the first time that shared common toilets and bathrooms with whites, and even cultivated some friendships with athletes that were in SS (!) (You can check his autobiography, articles and make a venn diagram of the athletes that mentioned and were party leaders to the particular organization). The more I see how the Olympic Games have evolved since, the more I see that some limits were guarded in the past and more limits have been destroyed since. We live in interesting times. • @ismaelnehme379
      @ismaelnehme379 Před měsícem

      I haven't found any credible evidence that Hitler tried to meet Jesse Owens. But what's absolutely true is that FDR snubbed Jesse Owens, and all the other black athletes for that matter, in 1936 by not inviting them to have dinner in the white house while the other Olympic athletes were allowed. Hitler technically didn't shake Owen's hand, but this was because the olympic committee gave Hitler an ultimatum after he spent the first day only congratulating German victors saying he could either congratulate them all or none of them. He chose the later, and was subsequently barred. A reporter then said that after Jesse Owens won the four medals, Owens waved and bowed at Hitler, and Hitler gave a friendly sitting salute back to him.

      to be fair, during the early days of the olympics it was very dificult to send large amounts of Athletes to other countries to compete so the host nation was at an advantage. The first Olympics held in Greece in 1896, Greece got the second most medals. The next was in paris, france got the most. France got 102, US got 48, most others got less than 10. Next olympics in 1904 in St Louis, US got 231, next place was Germany at 15. 1908 was in London, UK got 146, US was next at 47. I went through all the Olympics until the 50s and in around 2/3 of cases, the host nation had the most or second most amount of medals. it was tiny european countries like the Netherlands and Belgium who didn't win when they hosted. Germany winning wasn't really much of an achievement. Remember during this time, air travel was much rarer, more expensive and more dificult. Now there's 100,000 passenger flights a day, I can't find how many flights there were worldwide but i did find a stat that said 1,020,931 passengers flew in 1936 domestically and 145,112 internationally too and from the US, douglas dc3 was the most commonly used passenger plane and it carried between 21-32 pasengers so an average of 27 means around 43,186 total flights in the US occured in a year, that's less than a single day worldwide now. The first translatntic flight happened in 1931, that was a zepellin between germany and brazil. The first nonstop passenger service between the US and europe that wasn't on a blimp started in 1939. This meant that all thsoe athletes had to spend around a week at sea traveling by ship which is a large time commitment and also time that they can't train (or train properly).

    On the 1936 Berlin Olympics the Nazis dominated the competition
    Germany came first and won 38 Gold Medals 31 Silver and 32 Bronze
    The US came second and won 24 Gold 21 silver and 12 bronze
    Jessie Owens was one athlete who claimed himself that Hitler privately met him and congratulated him
    His entire time in Nazi Germany he was free to travel walk around and was provided all the same food and lodgings as other athletes
    When he went back to the United States they made him sit at the back of the bus with all the other blacks and had to sneak him in the back door of the White House kitchens to meet the President
    America is the master at propaganda
    They didn’t win the 1936 Olympics they didn’t win the Space Race, they weren’t founded on equality of opportunity and they are only top dog (barely) because they jumped on Europe when it was broken after WW2 and kept it there

      to be fair, during the early days of the olympics is was very dificult to send large amounts of Athletes to other countries to compete so the host nation was at an advantage. I went through all the Olympics and in around 2/3 of cases, the host nation had the most or second most amount of medals. it was tiny european countries like the Netherlands and Belgium who didn't win when they hosted. Germany winning wasn't realy much of an achievement. Who is claiming the US did win the 1936 oolympics? i never heard anyone say that. How can you argue the US didn't win the space race after the moon landings, yeah they weren't the first in space, but its not about how was ahead in the beginning, its who made it the furthest and the soviets made very few if any achievements in space after that. Its kinda sick how people bash this year's Olympics without even watching them or visiting them. I have visited 3 Olympics in a row, Tokyo excluded. And this year was my favourite by far. Organisation was smooth, little delays between events, everything was on time, crowds were supportive and enthusiastic, no problems with tickets or transportation. Overal spectator experience was well thought out, screens visible everywhere. So many good things i could say about so many events. A few contraversies were completely meaningless in a grand scale of things and people who really care about the sports world had no complaints. It seems like outsiders who don't even care about any of 100+ events nitpicking and compiling every single thing they can find, ignoring the fact that its a huge event with many things that went very smoothly.

    It's unfair to infer that Pan Zhanle's win is tied to doping when he has been tested 21 times this year, is the current world record holder prior to his Olympic win AND he was NOT one of the athletes that tested positive in the 2021 scandal.
    To equate the state of Taiwan's name at the olympics with doping leniency, and drawing correlations where they don't exist is unfair to all athletes that are representing China who have legitimately worked hard for their medal. Shame on you.

    Saying that the blue guy was depicting blue Jesus, while who was obviously trying to depict Jesus was that lady behind him, is just pathetically dumb.
    Starting the video saying that the Olympics was made as a way for rival nations to blow off steam non-violently, then being outraged and appalled that politics made it’s way in, is again pathetically dumb. Like..what else did you expect to happen after a century of that, and the extreme capitalism we live in, leading to the blasphemous last supper that was obviously done to make people talk about the Olympics?? The Greeks who were constantly at war actually declared peaceful travel for all athletes, even if they went straight back to murdering civilians right after. It's supposed to be above conflict.
    I do find it a little weird that all these countries which don't even formally recognize the independence of Taiwan are constantly clamoring for them to have their own identity. How can you even claim China is trying to "take over" Taiwan if you don't yourself recognize its independence? They should get their own proper team, but the hypocrisy is a little rich.
