I was an extra in this movie, we filmed the opening scene it was really fun. Filming began around 9 pm and it finished around 7 am. Patrick was the nicest guy, sometime around 1 am they served food and Patrick did not eat in his dressing room trailer he just picked a regular table and had his food with everyone else the extras I mean.. I remember making a call on a payphone, yes, a payphone inside the bar Patrick was passing by and asked me if I had a cigarette I could spare I mentioned that sorry I did not smoke he looked at me with a really intense look and said Son don't ever start it's awful and walked away. Sam Elliott was also very nice to everyone and Kevin Tighe. It was a cool night, here I am in my 50s and remember it like it was yesterday.

I always loved that look in Dalton's eyes the entire time Morgan is up in his face. Absolute confidence. And even though he looked like he may not have been ready if Morgan tried to hit him (looks like Dalton's hands are in his pockets), Dalton was no doubt prepared for anything at that point.

Remember, its not personal, its just a job. There have been plenty of occasions where just a nice word, a warning or even a look has the desired response. To that point, he earned the respect of the inmates and they would police their own ranks when some new guy was getting out of hand. For example he might threaten to remove privileges if certain behavior didn't improve, and the vet inmates would get after the new guys to get in line because 'this CO was one of the good ones' and he'll do what he says and will remove the privilege if the behavior continued.
