When I was a little 8 year old kid, would make these using the recipe out of the 1956 Betty Crocker Cookbook.
You are the most cheerful and happy person. Do you ever get mad??
I really appreciate how your videos are short and concise. So many videos now are sooooo long.
Dear John these popovers are fantastic. My mom used to make them….thank you so much….
yorkshire pudding...YES!!!!!
Different cheese varieties I would love to see!
Heavenly 😍 glad you showed how to make them in a muffin pan too
Every time I look for a recipe, I get so excited when your channel pops up! Your so talented and love your personality and smile! Thanks for making these easy to understand videos ❤
you dont even know ..bcz of your channel i became a master chef john....my kidz hubby and family luvvvs my cakes now ...all thanks to you ..i hope you read this 🥲
I’d love to see a Yorkshire pudding recipe on the channel and thank you for explaining the difference between them and pop overs so clearly 🎈
The only difference that I can see, between these and the Yorkshire puddings, I make, is with Yorkshire puddings, I heat up the muffin trays with a tiny bit of fat first, then I pour the batter (it’s the same recipe but without the butter) into the very hot muffin tray and put it back into the oven until cooked.
Yorkshire pudding is made from beef roast drippings in a pan or go home. A muffin pan and fat is a popover.
I have not made popovers since 1979, when I was 10 in 4--H I'm going to make these tomorrow morning, thanks for the wonderful memory😊
Adding chives would make a nice, savory popover. Yes to a video recipe for Yorkshire pudding. Thanks John
Suggestion for you; place your popover pans on the open door of your dishwasher then spray with oven spray. No messy oil everywhere! Love your tips in this recipe.
I go out the back door.
Made this recipe and it was…AMAZING! I’ve been trying to master popovers with mixes for years. Never could imagine how super easy and delicious homemade ones are! New family recipe! Thank you for the great tutorial as well!
I love popovers. Besides slathering with butter and jam, one of my favorite ways to serve them is to cool them and then stuff with curried chicken salad with nuts, grapes or raisins. Terrific brunch... Impressive and so FANCY!!!
Yes, of course we would like to see a Yorkshire pudding recipe, also. I don’t think I have ever seen an eight holer muffin pan before. Is it vintage?
Easy to find with a Google search. Bed Bath and Beyond, Walmart, or Crate and Barrel.
Its easy. Animal fat will always make it more tasty. If not veg/plant based oil is fine.
Muffin pans have larger holes than cupcake pans which is why they have fewer holes. 😍
I bought some jumbo 3inch silicone muffin moulds from Amazon, Yorkshire puddings come out at once.
I have a popover pan, only used it once.
I'm glad you have this recipe, John; this is my go-to recipe site, love your recipes, and your personality.
Can't wait to try these one day! Love that you show how they look in both pans.
Oh, I'm so excited to try this. They look amazing.
This is definitely an Irish favorite that our family makes during St.Patrick’s Day!🍀🥰🍀
Thanks for the memories...These were my kids favorites! I made them nearly every Sunday!
These look cool & delicious. I'd love to see the English version of these as well. Thank you for all you do. Happy Valentine's Day ❤️😊
I love the way you explain your recipes to a tee. It makes it easier to understand exactly what needs to be done for each recipe. Love your recipes. Love to watch you bake and cook. Thank you.
❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Please do your Yorkshire popover recipe.
Thanks. 😊
Your videos are so clear and helpful. Very informative and enjoyable. Thank you.
Oh wow! simple and looks very delicious!
Thanks John!❤️it!😋
I LOVE POPOVERS!
Yummy. Absolutely love popovers, especially with lots of butter and homemade strawberry refrigerator jam.
Made them today and they turned out fabulously....very proud of these sky-high wonders! Would also love to learn more about making sweet and savoury versions as well. And sure, the Yorkshire pudding recipe would be great!
I grew up going to Jordan Pond House on Mount Desert Island in Maine and these are their signature dish
Wow, these popovers are huge and look so tasty! High baking skills! 👌
They looks delicious. Thank you for sharing inspiring cooking tutorials. 👌
I had never heard of popovers before, (I am in the UK) but as others comment, they look and sound great. As a child, 60 years ago, we used to enjoy Yorkshire puds with roast dinners for sure, cooked in oil, not necessarily dripping, but also with butter and sugar or golden syrup for dessert sometimes too. I don't think we would have added butter to the batter - too decadent! Lol
I have only had popovers once. Five Daughters Bakery sells orange glazed popovers. They taste amazing! I can’t wait to give these a try and see if I can figure out how to make an orange glaze for them. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with everyone and I love to see Yorkshire pudding recipe!
Can't wait to try this!! And yes to yorkshire pudding as well! Thanks for these great videos.
Thank you for the last tip of poking holes so they don't collapse! I watched a bunch of videos and none mentioned that! Thank you again!
I can’t wait to try these! They look amazing!
Your food is always amazing! You are our go to foodie for recipes !
Love your videos! You explain and demonstrate everything so well! Would LOVE a Yorkshire pudding recipe. Thank you!
Yes, I’d love to see a Yorkshire Pudding recipe. ❤️
I like his recipes 💯
The recipe and method he used is exactly the same. You just put less in a muffin pan so they can puff up better
How absolutely scrumptious!
OMG that popover is one gorgeous cloud of fluffy eggy buttery deliciousness!! Yummm 😋 I need to get one over those pans immediately!
Okay, so I just started the video and… those popovers are RIDICULOUS! Omg! If they taste as good as they look, it would be pure heaven😃❤️❤️❤️❤️
These turned out fantastic. Recipe is a real keeper.
❤️I used to make these once I awhile, with brunch or dinner. So good. This batter, as you pointed out, is similar to Yorkshire pudding batter, also the Dutch baby or German puff pfankuken. Jordan Pond House in Maine used to serve these. With a bit of butter or sour cream and strawberry preserves, there's little need for anything else for tea or dessert.✌️
Hi! Thank you for posting this recipe. While I enjoy watching your videos, this recipe reminded me of when my aunt brought delicious popovers from a Brooklyn bakery while visiting. I made popovers today for the first time ever! I tweaked your recipe a bit. I used coconut milk, added pumpkin spice and added a pinch of sugar. Yummy! Happy holidays to you, your family and friends! Lesley
Hi I baked some pop over follow your recipe it’s so delicious thank you 🙏 so much for the best recipe god bless you ❤
I'm making your recipe again with preheated pan to compensate, hopefully, for the no bottom situation last time. I just went to turn down the oven and flipped on the light. Woohoo!!! I've got the biggest popovers I've ever seen in real life. Thanks so much, John.
Yorkshire pudding recipe please! My mother had an old Home Economics Teaches cookbook in the 70's and I loved to use the recipe from it to make cheese popovers. The book has been lost to time so thank you for this recipe, I can now make them again.
Ohh my gosh, made these this eve with dinner. They were perfect!!! This is a keeper and will be making again.

I did it! I made your popovers and they were ah-mazing! I made a video of them when they came out of the oven, but I am old and not tech savvy, so I can't share it with you, but they were sooooo good! Thank you!
During culinary school externship, the restaurant put me on popover detail! My first gig in the kitchen was to make 400 before the Chefs came in for their shift! I had less than 2 hours lol! I bought my own pan and decided to make them today and needed a smaller version of the recipe 🤗 I knew to come visit your channel!!!

I make my popovers with freshly chopped rosemary! Delicious! Thanks, John!
I will try it 💯👍
These came out great, thanks for the recipe!
Hey! Just wanted to say thank you so much! My mom and I used your recipe tonight (the only difference being that we substituted half and half for milk simply because we didn't have any milk on hand) and they turned out so beautifully! Also we don't have a blender so we used my NutriBullet which worked brilliantly as well! (Also generously greased popovee pan with butter as we had no cooking spray) ...All your tips here made all the difference, thank you so much for this wonderful recipe, it was light, airy, egg-y, custard-y goodness!!! Your channel is helpful and delightful, Happy New Year to you!

Great recipe my man, because of you, I am more involved into baking, tried some of your masterpieces and they all are absolutely amazing...greats from Ecuador🤗
Hey John I tried this out today. They are so good even my 3 year old little boy loved them. I used 1 cup flour and 1 cup 1% buttermilk, a little less than 3/4 tsp of fine pink salt, and 3 TBS of softened unsalted butter and 1/4 cup brown sugar they turned out soo great! 😍❤️🙏
Me too I just finished one and they are delicious 😋
@@brendar6515 I didn't have a popover tin pan but my 6 count jumbo muffins tin worked perfectly with my ratios I used above.
