That's why I like ball powder, it meters better I use 40 grains of H335 in my 308. I only use one extruded powder for one of my calibers, that's my 7mm Remington Magnum 62 grains of IMR 4831
Thanks for the video. The RCBS puller is super fast. I bought a bunch of cases of 150 and 165 bulk 308 and I tare it down and lever the powder charge, resize the cases in an old lee die with a filed off depriving pin then reseat the projectiles at a depth that my 308 at likes and I get great results out of cheap bulk ammo. The RCBS puller makes the disassembly super fast. You video is great. I'm glad your videos are still on here. Thanks again.
I really enjoy your videos. I like how you talk like an everyday guy. And not overly technical. You bring up potential issues and share your real world experience. Thanks bud. I hope your 1 of us in the reloaders network. I found this video looking for loading videos on 308 for my fal, m1a and g3 clone. Lots of info on match info with 300 dollar dies. I want decent accuracy hardball ammo.
Great Vid, brother! Thanks a lot, for the time and work you put in this videos! One can see that you are reloading for a long time and you make every cartridge as perfect as possible! Greets from Austria!!!
I watch videos on the caliber I am reloading. Tonight it was 308 Win. I always give a wet tumble with out pins before I resize to insure there is nothing that will scratch cases or dies when resizing. Then I give a quick dry with a towel on them. Then I lube with an alcohol and lanolin mixture and resize the brass. Then I trim the brass. With the lube still on it. After that I tumble with pins to remove the lube, removes brass shavings from trimming and use a good squirt of dish soap and about a half a shot Real Lemon lemon juice. Then I let tumble for a minimum of 4 four hours. The brass comes out shinier than new. Then I separate the brass from the pins and rinse the brass and give a quick tumble without pins to remove any soap residue. The brass is near perfection when I am done. The Hornady FMJBT is a great choice for an AR10 bullet, the cannelure is in the right spot for it. If I would have used Varget, I would have went for the max safe load, 44.9 gr. Tonight I'm using RL-15 at max charge that works well in my AR. I also give a tight crimp on them. You can tell when you have a tight crimp when you try to pull the bullets from the cases. I have never had any problem with pressure on tight crimps. You should of had your bullet puller looser so you could put the bullet in it to the case neck and remove it without damaging the bullet. My method takes longer than other methods, but that's just the way I do it. Sometimes I store my bullets for many years, and they are just as good as when I put the crimp on them. Rock on.
"chafed" is what happens to your crotch when you wear a cup during a baseball game in 98 degree weather. The word you're looking for is "chamfer" just playing around, great vid and awesome shop you have there!
