    TRANS TEMP GAUGE KITS
    GlowShift Auto Transmission Temperature Gauges monitor the operating temperature of your car or truck’s transmission by measuring the transmission fluid temperature. Overseeing these temperatures helps ensure that your transmission does not overheat, which could cause major engine damage. GlowShift has a variety of 2-1/16” (52mm) analog transmission temperature gauges that read from 80° to 260° Fahrenheit, with digital versions that read from 68° to 302° Fahrenheit.

    I'd like you see you do a video on temperature with the factory cooler versus auxiliary. I know different parts of the country have different climates might need to go into that also. I'm thinking of adding an auxiliary cooler bypassing Factory chamber. We have some cold days here wondering about confused sensors on those days. I definitely think a standalone cooler would be beneficial with our hot Texas days. And of course we have to have AC. And our Ray Wylie Hubbard and Cody Canada rather than the music on that video.

    I have a question for GlowShift. I installed a oil and tranny temp guages. Both work great except when I put on heater inside truck both guages read very hot abot 270. I check both fluids and both are correct with no heat at all. I was thinking a wire would be touching something very hot like manifold but both of them at the same time, I routed both wires different routes. I don't think so. Can you give me a clue? Thanks for the video.

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  Před 8 lety +5

      +Dan Meredith Hello, unfortunately, I am also unaware if there is a test port available. Your best bet will be installing a t-fitting adapter in the hot trans cooler line. You would just need to find an adapter that matches the diameter of your cooler lines, but also has a female 1/8th NPT threaded port on it.

    I am looking to install a transmission temp gauge on a 2013 Chevy Traverse. are there any that plug directly into the computer port inside the car? what trans temperature gauge do you recommend? I am looking for a decent gauge but is easy to install and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. your elite 10 color transmission gauge caught my eye but not sure if it would work or how hard it is to install

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  Před 9 lety

      Timothy Welch Thanks for contacting us. I did a little research on your 2013 Chevy Traverse and there is a pressure test port on the transmission that you can thread a sensor into, but please confirm the thread size before installing. I could not find a size on the port, but our transmission temp sensors are 1/8-27 NPT so you may need to use an adapter to install the sensor. The Elite 10 Color Transmission Temp Gauge (120° - 300°F) is a great choice as it features an electronic temp sensor, plug and play connectivity with a 6ft sensor wire harness as well as peak recall functions and programmable high and low warnings that will alert you when you reach that set temp level visually and/or audibly. If you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask!

    It started running hot.. I bought some antifreeze... It was still running hot.. Then I found out my radiator was busted... Got a new radiator.. Still running hot... Got a new thermostat.. Still running hot... He bleed the system twice... So he thought I had a slight crack in my head gasket I put some blue devil in it.... Let it sealed up... Still running hot... We went and got a water pump... Still running hot!!!!

    that's a sloppy install if I do say so myself. what's with the ball of wire shoved up underneath the dash and you give a little piece of wire loom just the reach behind the pillar. but nothing to cover the wires in the engine baby and the sensor on the transmission could use a waterproof plug. unless you're in Arizona I gave that connection six months before it's got corrosion in it and the gauge doesn't read right.

      +firoz scorpio You will need to install the temperature sensor into the transmission pan or you can T off the transmission lines of your 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK. Let me know if I can help with anything else!

    You put your Teflon tape on backwards.. Lol.. Always go the opposite way of the way the part screws in or all your doing is undoing the tape and run a chance of it not doing its job!

    is there any test ports on an 08 grand prix gxp? I've been looking under my car and online and can't seem to find any answers

      +Tysen Swank Unfortunately, I was unable to locate any information myself. With that being said, your best course of action to install the sensor will be either drilling and tapping the pan itself, or possibly using a t-fitting adapter to install the sensor.

      It's super easy! Simple installation, and doing it yourself has the benefit of knowing the work was done properly. The more you let other people work on your car or truck the more problems seem to pop up!

    As much as you guys charge for the gauge itself you want people to spend all this extra money on this extra wiring that should already come with the gauge is a joke selling a gauge without the necessary equipment to install the gauge and to make it work properly is like buying a brand new car without the engine and the dealership making the engine and extra expense

    • @GlowShift
      @GlowShift  Před 5 lety

      Thank you for your concern. Because our gauges are universal, it is impossible to include every single adapter or fitting to work with every single vehicle ever made, which is why we choose to have them listed as additional add-on accessories. Customers can purchase exactly what they need for their specific vehicle. As far as wiring is concerned, our gauges can be wired without purchasing anything additional. We only suggest that the additional wiring will make installation easier.

      @@GlowShift so why not just ask what vehicle the gauge is being installed on and include the necessary equipment for that specific vehicle
