Drilling and taping for egt, I found greasing the drill bit and tap catches metal shavings
Thank you for your suggestion! We do really appreciate it.
Have the vacuum Hose!
next to the drill tip when you are drilling just a little tip 😉
I bought that extended wiring kit but ended up splicing all the gauge wires together with an extended wire cutting out the wire to each gauge it was to messy and how did you hook up to the fuse box with the expandable circuit and still get the cover to close and look neat
do the led back light always have to be one or can the be hooked up to a dimmer/switch?
For our 7 Color Series Gauges, the backlighting will always be on when the gauge is powered on, but you do have an optional dimming wire to dim the lighting at nighttime.
does the 3 gauge wiring kit only work with those three gauges? say i am not using a trans temp gauge, i can still use the 3 gauge wiring kit, correct?
+cole parker Yes, that is absolutely correct. You can still use the 3 gauge wiring kit.
I’m guessing they’ll work but why are they not advertised for working on 7.5-09 6.7s? And do you have to have a trans port extender for a 68rfe, and if you do, do you make one? Also, can you hook all similar wires of each gauge into each expandable circuit?
The gauges are universal so they will work with any vehicle. Just make sure you select the correct vehicle year when choosing your pod. The 68rfe does not have a transmission port so you would need to use a cooler line t-fitting, or, weld a bung into the trans pan. For wiring, you can use a wiring kit which will make it so the gauges can be powered from one expandable circuit.
Is it better to install the transmission sensor in the test port or in the temp sensor hole in the aftermarket deep pan?
We always install the sensor in the test port, but if your setup has a designated spot for the sensor then you can use that.
I want 4 gauges on the pillar. Can I use the quad pillar pod on a 04 Cummins or do I have to modify a triple and single?
Full size quad pod can be found here: www.glowshiftdirect.com/taupe-quad-pillar-gauge-pod-for-2006-2009-dodge-ram-cummins/
what color is that 3 gauge pod? and do you make one in that color in a 4 gauge pod?
The pod used in this video is grey. The quad pod version can be found here: www.glowshiftdirect.com/2006-2009-dodge-ram-cummins-taupe-quad-pillar-pod/
I have the same exact true and glow kit , and for some reason every time I hit a bump or something me gauges turn off and then back on for some reason. What could it be?
I apologize for the inconvenience, we would recommend to check all of the connections for power and ground to ensure there are not any loose connections.
I have a 2008 hemi, and was wondering if I did a 3 gauge install consisting of oil temp, trans temp, and a let's say air fuel ratio, or vacuum pressure gauge, would everything work?
+Douglas Maltba Thanks for the interest in our product! Everything will work, however, you would need adapters in order to be able to install both the oil temp and trans temp sensors.
GlowShift Gauges Sweet, Thank you guys so much
I just installed a glowshift 3 in 1 gauge kit on my 06 cummins. I used the test port extender for my trans temp gauge. It shows readings and an to heat up and cool down properly but the Temps are lower than I believe they really are. Highest I've seen is about 140 for the trans temp. Is there something I should do? Have u heard of this problem before? Does the extended put the sensor too far back and make it not read the temp accurate?
What temperature do you think it should be? Here is a video showing step by step on how to check our temp sensor: czcams.com/video/FEOhyxug0aY/video.html
@@GlowShift well from my experience watching transmission Temps, I've always seen about 180-210. But with this truck I don't know. It might be reading correctly. Idk
I only see those temps in my Duramax towing my 5th wheel on a hot day otherwise i run about 150 or lower running around empty.
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 the pillar is it a slip on or does it replace factory pillar?
It replaces the factory pillar.
I bought the transmission temperature feel pressure and boost for some reason the boost gauge is a lot dimmer
It's because the boost gauge is a mechanical gauge where the other 2 gauges are digital.
It appears that most of these gauges look at a towing package, can they be used for anything else?
They are used to monitor overall system health and functionality for each portion of the engine.
how come the boost gauge turns on before the others when the key is switched and the needle doesn't move?
That would be because the boost gauge is mechanical, and does not have an electronic stepper motor like the other two gauges. With that being said, it is also the reason that the lights come on faster.
My fuel pressure gauge goes straight to 22 without even running the fass pump, and when you turn the Guage straight as its sitting in the pod, it will go to zero. Any suggestions?
Our customer service team will need some more information to help you diagnose the issue. Please contact them directly by using the live chat on our website or by calling.
wouldn't it be smarter and safer to take the exhaust manifold off when you are drilling into the manifold so any of those shavings dont fall into the turbo and destroy it?
Keegan Mohrfeld If you are worried about shavings going into the turbo then you can 100% remove the exhaust manifold and drill and tap it off the vehicle. If you step up from a smaller drill bit to a larger one, then using a vacuum and magnet on the shavings will be okay. There are many different methods you can use when drilling and tapping, do what you feel more comfortable with!
what about the shavings that fall into the turbo flange? don't think a shop vac can reach that
We use a pen magnet to get any shavings that fall into the manifold.
That is correct! That Shop Vac will not get the shavings out at all. Not a good idea! (IMO)
@@GlowShift Using the magnet after you have already drilled a hole will not get the metal chips out that I've already fallen into the turbo. Bad idea! (IMO)
dont call it a kit if you still need 45 things to even complete the install...
MotoWorx it’s a kit only in the fact that the three gauges come together in the same box
@@Rocking_B that’s still not what a kit is considered!
It’s a sub-kit. No bad info tho.
I have a 3-gauge pillar and have everything dry fitted, but the wire for the dimmer function. 2 of the 3 after they cycle through start flashing, while the other doesn’t. Any ideas what would cause this? Truck is an 03 cummins 24-vavlve
When the gauge is flashing that usually means that the sensors are not connected. Double check the wiring and make sure that all of the connectors are secure and none of the wires are pinched.
GlowShift Gauges i didn’t actually have any of the sensors plugged in. I only checked to see if the gauges lit up. Still waiting for a good day to finish the install. I’ll try that though with all the sensors plugged in and see if that fixes it.
How do u set the memory? Mine always go back to stock blue.
Hi, it sounds like the gauge is losing the constant power source. When a gauge loses the constant power it will reset to the default blue color. I recommend you call or live chat with our tech support team if you need further assistance. Cheers, GlowShift Team
Please help, my gauges only work when the truck is in reverse
Lmao. Sounds like mine
Is it the same positions for the 6.7 especially for the transmission bolt that you unscrewed?
gumer85 with the 6.7 you may have the 68RFE transmission, which doesn’t have a test port. You’ll need to use a T fitting and cut your transmission “to cooler” line and put the T fitting in. They have another video for that install. I have the 68RFE and it was daunting, but in the end it wasn’t a big deal.
Is there a way I can get a list of everything used and installed in this video?
www.glowshiftdirect.com/white-7-color-series-3-gauge-diesel-set/
can i just order the wiring kit. i bought a truck with the gauges and pillar mount but the adapters and fittings are gone. all i want is the wiring kit and the fittings.
+Cory Ashford Of course! All of our parts are available directly at our website: www.glowshiftdirect.com
If you need help figuring out which parts you need, you can always get in contact with a customer service rep either by e-mail or phone.
I watched a video from tactical repair and his gauges were all wacked out and freaking out.
Then I watched another video and the guy mentioned costumer service sucked.
So all I can say pretty lights don’t do no good if they have issues then the company doesn’t back their customers up.
