- FURTHUR bus restoration-first step.
Removing the bus from the woods ("swamp"). A group of volunteers and Original Merry Pranksters help pull Ken Kesey's 1939 International Harvester out of the woods where it has been deteriorating. Reel #3. The next step is up to the people. The Kesey's will donate the bus to the Furthur down The Road Foundation to be restored if the foundation can raise the money to restore it. Three times Furthur & I sort of met.
Lived, crazy trailer landlord, Right next to Ken in about 88-89. Bus was in field w, if I remember, goats around it in Springfield. Then one day !Another bus came down the road. Was asked if had carb., I asked if Checker would work, but no. The first time was we were both at the ‘64 Worlds Fair, maybe at the same time.
Then at Woodstock I camped right next to Furthur & 3 other buses & The Hog Farm Stage way above the crowd!
In 1968, I “got on the bus”, & never looked back, helping as able, big fam.
Oh, I was 68 in early Dec.2022! Nice ride it still is. ✌️❤️🎼🍀🌏🐫

While not having money to donate, I do have skills, if I could but make my way out there. I can weld, do electrical, both actual restoration to original and or custom. I can wrench as well. I am going to your website and let us see where this goes.
Ken Kesey seemed like a cool cat.

How long was this parked in the swamp? lve always loved this bus. Also is this the same bus the twelve tribes uses?
it was in the swamp about 15 years. It is indoors now.

@@zanekesey oh they got a bus kinda looks like this ive seen it on a fb post about the electric forest. But nice bus man that is treasure.
@@skyroboss twelve tribes bus is not even remotely like this bus. No other bus is like Further. Not a single one. Twelve tribes and further in the same sentence is almost a blasphemy lol
