YEs, unless everyone is a cultural genius like you! Why would most folk from their various perspectives in whatever cultures and geographies immediately be aware of any of this, or that Chief Broom was in fact how Mescalito appeared to Ken? The only universal surface detail that average people will pick up on the first viewing of the movie or reading of the book, is, for eg, how folk of mine and previous generations felt about school ajnd the institutions we were forced to believe had some God given power over us all.... (but, in reality, ONLY when we choose, rightly or wrongly, but usually co-ercively, to believe them) But then, we ain't all geniuses like you of course....

Kesey refused to watch the movie.... the book is extremely deep...the cinematic interpretation barely even scratches the surface....
