- FURTHUR bus restoration-first step.
Removing the bus from the woods ("swamp"). A group of volunteers and Original Merry Pranksters help pull Ken Kesey's 1964 International Harvester out of the woods where it has been deteriorating. Reel #4. The next step is up to the people. The Kesey's will donate the bus to the Furthur down The Road Foundation to be restored if the foundation can raise the money to restore it. To donate (tax exempt) go to www.furthurdowntheroad.org/
This interview is by far the most interesting part of the series. Walker is the kind of person you want to meet and make a friend of or at least spend a few hours talking with. He more than anyone seems to carry on the spirit of the bus.
Awesome, great metaphor puuling the the bus out of the swamp, The adventute never ends
Well spoken and articulate some 50 years after the fact. First hand illumination of a time that was legend almost as soon as it happened. Down to earth and fun to listen to.
I could sit and listen to George talk all day. He's so articulate and well thought out. There's no 'uhhhh' or 'ummmm' while he's speaking. I'd love to sit and have a few beers w/ him someday.
And no 'like', either!
He said uhh like 5 times as I read your post. Granted he says to less then most people but hes still human and says uhh.
i'm # 9 to watch this one !!! Whoooooo-hoooooooooo !!!
Its a 1939 International Harvester, not a 1964.
Good interview.fascinating to see the interior of the original bus such history!
...And speaking of the bus how is the restoration process going or is it going? Truthfully I'd love to see it end up in the Smithsonian... after a couple more cross-country trips🤣
...aand how's the project going on? I'd love to take part in it, I can help with the visual outlooks and play jazz on my sax there! Love from Finland
Getting closer to starting.
I so wanna see a pic of that vietnam day version
Hows it going with the restoration?
raising funds. Won't start till enough funds and we can do a documentary on the restoration.
Many people do renovations, old wooden boats for example, here on youtube, and get donations from patreons for the expences. Maybe a specific channel for the bus? i think many people would donate. Just a thought.
@@zanekesey is the fundraiser still ongoing?
@@Soppsleven yeah I'd help and spread the word like wildfire. This is like the ark of the covenant type stuff gotta honor what is sacred
@@MysticMonkeyMiracle Yes, we are reaching critical speed and are now looking for a parts bus and a shop that can do it.
