Yo, cool video and all and I actually really appreciate the info in it and all but like holy hell, I'm literally crying right now because of how genuinely nice that dude seems...
Just happened to my 04 Civic. Any idea ballpark how much it'd cost me to get fixed? My steering is off and both of my front wheels are getting hot, even on short trips. I also regularly change my brake pads so mayyybe I messed up the brake pads somehow so they're dragging, or messed with a wheel bearing while adding a couple wheel studs. But I feel like the heat is because of the misalignment since it's BOTH front tires and not just one. Think the unevenness is causing friction. I thought about doing the job myself at first, like I usually do but suspension seems a bit out of my range.
I'm working on an 2015 Avalon with the same problem just a little worse the rotor was also affected from the impact and a chunk came off, Nice video btw Cheers from Los Angeles my friend ✌
I owned a 2001 Grand Marquis and at high speed bounced the rear tire axle sharply and very ROUGH!! lifted right rear tire off ground jumping the curb there... I accidently cut the corner to close. Something broke or whatever. Suddenly started making grinding noise from the rear somewhere! Although at home on ground with jacks under axle by wheel, manually spinning each side there no no obvious noise. On either side spinning tire, no noise! When let car back down and slowly drove ahead past 15mph. noise started grinding again. What the hell is causing that, I just cannot find it or see anything bent, or apart. I cannot drive it like that. It's too loud, and bad. It does wobble a bit too now I noticed after about 30+ mph. But my rims look straight enough with tires spinning.
My mechanic said I had a bent Knuckle/Spindle. How did he came up with to this conclusion? My left rear wheel gap is about 1” My right rear wheel gap is about 2.5” My left front wheel gap is about 2.7” My right front wheel gap is at 1” That’s my issue....struts/shock are brand new. Bought them because I though I had a blown strut. I’d appreciate any opinions/suggestions thanks!
I dropped the clutch on a wet onramp(like the dumbass i am) and lost control, whipped around and smashed the real wheel into the curb at 20mph. The car bounced onto the curb which is a couple inches high. I checked for damage... nothing bent or crooked. Made it home alright, maybe a bit of shaking at low speeds but tbh cant tell. What should i check?
@Jake Sal oof mustangs arent the best my friend. But if you want to keep it, it's probably gonna need some pretty heavy work. Bearings or axle could have taken a beating and needs replacing, or worse! Your suspension can bend and cause uneven wear in the tread, ruining your tires and alignment.
@Jake Sal what year is it? If it has a live axel you might bend your axel a little, or the wheel but that’s it. The 4 link solid axel is really simple strong setup.
There is no clear cut answer here. It depends upon the speed of the vehicle, the size of what it was that the tire impacted... Does the car pull to one side or the other while driving on a straight road?
Is this an expensive fix? I slammed my wheel into a curb going about 30 in the frozen slushy snow on slick tires. I gouged the rim and the wheel is crooked compared to the other one now. The tire is completely fine amazingly. No other body damage but what do you think wost care scenario for Me is as far as cost?
@@pono321 oh believe me i know ive been flipping on the dealership. Mind you this is with oil change and alignment. But still. And i know he's gonna come back with 900 thinking he's helping me out. I also got the schlep down the street saying 550 so who knows.

The charge to replace a timing belt would be different for almost every vehicle depending on: mileage, engine type, additional accessories and what else needs to be replaced. Please come by The Auto Shop with your vehicle and we will give you a free estimate.

I changed both upper and lower control arms. Still didn’t work?? What could it be. Can worn sway bar links and bushings cause wheel to push back ?

a bit late but you could always measure both spindles left and right and compare them.
Literally just happened to me this morning while doing a u-turn
Still open
What speed this Mazda was in when hit the curb? Caused this kind of damage?
Happened to my 1992 caddy i was only goin like 2 mph around a corner in the snow😢😢

Mr, RedFox My wheel was a little bent so it was wobbling. Everything else was fine though 👍
Bearings? Probably just your wheel man!

I was backing into a parking spot and hit not once, but twice. I just got my alignment. Will this throw out my alignment?

@@TheAutoShop it somewhat goes to the right. I was like doing 4 mph.

Something is definitely bent probably the shock got bent or your tie rod.

I actually just hit a curb pretty hard the other day. But I checked under and drove it just fine.
You must have been really lucky!
They dont make cars like they used to.
That has got to be most effort I've seen put into a fake smile in my life.
Are you have to do is put a new lower control arm that’s less than $200
How much would be changed for this kind of repair

The Auto Shop I know this is on old post. But do you remember if the lower control arm was the only damage? I have the same car same issue. Thanks.
