Seriously awesome stuff! I got hit same way 2 days ago. His insurance is covering the damage. Cool guy, for doing so. No ugly battle. He took fault and is willing to cover it. I was just on my way to get my 18 month son milk and before I could successfully do so. It happened and now I’m out of a car for 8 weeks. So it’s a long journey. I start work in March and my car isn’t gonna be done in a timely manor

Thank you so much for helping me possibly understand what may be wrong with my car. My tire is toed in like the one in this video. A truck hit my back wheel 6 months ago and destroyed the whole driver side of my car. The only difference from this video is, on my car, no medal is rubbing and the tire space is even on both sides. I did have the suspension fixed after the accident and the guy said he replaced the trailer arm ($700 just for that part), but the wheel is still toed in and on the inner part of the tire is showing the metal chords under the tread. Since it is toed in, all the weight is on that part of the tire. When I brought it to Volkswagen to look at something else, they said my suspension was bent. I thought they were trying to scam me since I had already had the suspension fixed. They said the part was bent. So maybe I need the control arm fixed. I was told to start with an alignment and ill take it from there. Thanks again.

My expedition has very similar damage on the rear wheel on drivers side from someone hitting it while it was parked. Although mine is only about an inch away from the quarter panel. Wheel is tilted inward, just hoping the damage isn’t too serious. My insurance doesn’t cover it so just hoping the other person has insurance. They tried running away after hitting my car and got arrested some blocks away so I’m also hoping it wasn’t stolen. Thanks for the video.

I hit my miata 2001 like that but i think the control arm or whatever bolt is holding it got bent but the whel wont roll. It was just like that but we got it away from the frame, but the wheel ist stuck: can pulling it remedy this

I change the control arms both upper and lower it’s way better doesn’t touch the fendor like it used too. It still does touch it you think it could be the trailing arm ?

we checked the trailing arm both upper and down are good. The sway bar bushing and it’s kit the two metal look beat up also I can tell the sway bar from left is bended. The bushings are really old. The left tire is not in position. Could it be the sway bar plus the bushing and the kit tow metal that go on the controlling arms ?

Just hit a curb and my car fell on the side. Now when I drive the car steers on its own! I looked and seen that when I straighten out the steering wheel in park the front driver wheel slightly slanted inwards... And its rubbing the back wheel well panel. What is this.. brakes. I turned too wide and slid over the metal sewer which yanked my wheel to the right and I skid over the curb. Yanked it right out my hands. Didn't bend this bad but it's still bent

@@Jesdesign1 It might be a bit severe bc recently i hit a pothole pretty hard and it feels as if the wheel starts shaking pretty hard after 25mph, my mechanic told me that it had something to do with the differential or the axle but he hasn’t been answering my calls. It’s just been sitting in my driveway for about 2 weeks now.

Great vid, MK3 Mercedes A Class drivers side rear wheel sits forward, almost touching car body, and top of wheel leans outward. Been told by bodyshop, best to replace entire rear axle assembly. Advice?
Yes follow the bodyshop advice.
If you are trying to save money I would search your local salvage yards for a car that's the same year.Make a model as yours and see how much it is to get a rear axle assembly
Thanks. 👍🏾 I have only shared pictures of the damage with the bodyshop, they haven’t inspected the car. As it stands replacement rear axle is £655 fitted.

Do have explanation for left side or right side for front wheel out of alignment due to accident cause, the chamber already adjust to the maximum still can't align tire.

Your a lifesaver. Same thing happened to my 2014 bmw. From what i can tell, bent traction strut/control arm and slightly bent wishbone control arm, or as in your case the upper middle.
I bought both parts, once i remove the traction strut, will I have to move the wheel knucle some so it lines up to where it should be? If you know many videos that show this lmk.

Hello. I have a question. I had an accident in January in which I hit the curb. The last alignment I did the shop said my caster angle on the right side is low. The car is still drivable but make a harmonic humming sound. Do you have some of what it could be and what repairs could be done? Thank you.
It sounds like the wheel bearing is busted wheel bearings when not working properly will makee humming sound Ashley drive it will increase in sound the faster you drive

James, my Volkswagen GTI hit a curve and looks like yours but I put in drive and reverse and the engine revs but will not move like it’s in neutral. Other than all the control arm and tie rods what else could it be?
That's easy you have a broken drive shaft one I've shaft 1 of the drive shafts on your car has broken that's why the engine is revin and the car is not moving is this car front will drive or oil drive?

Similar thing happened to me. But i hit a car that made an illegal turn into my lane(I was driving fast) so my passenger side hit. Exactly in the corner of the car, the hood, bumper and fender area. The problem is both my wheels got pushed back. So my question is are both sides of my cars suspension messed up? Like both the left and right control arms or is it like my axels got pushed back as well?

It is definitely suspension
There are parts that are very rigid in one direction if they get bent in the opposite direction it's very easy to do

I have a golf mark 6 2010 1.4. It’s been involved in an accident and the left front tyre is a bit tilted inwards and when I reverse it fully lock on left hand side, the tyre would touch the inside of the body and get stuck but tiger than that it’s all good.
I was told it was cv joint, I got that replaced, I got alignment done. Not fixed

It depends on where you go some places have 50 to $55 per hour other places will have 85 to $90 per hour and I can take up to 5 or 6 hours today

Hey @James . I have a question . I just replaced my lower control arms and tie rods on my 2006 bmw 325i . And now my driver side tire is rubbing on the back of the wheel well. I put my suspension up before cause of the rubbing cause I went from low Profiles to a just tad bigger tire and I was fine up until replacing those parts that were completely shot. I haven't gotten a wheel alignment yet . And I was wondering if that could be the case or could it be something else?

A couple of things lower control arm bent or struct bent
And are we talking about the front or rear tire
@@Jesdesign1 I lost control in the rain, both my right side tires drifted into a curb. In the back, my lower control arm folded like a soda can which I already replaced. But no matter how many times i look at the front components, I can't notice any bent parts. I changed the passenger steering knuckle because my wheel bearing snapped. I got new rims because the ones that hit the curb bent. My steering wheel is harder to steer after the accident, my front passenger tire is slightly toe-out like this |-/, and the same front passenger tire is moved back toward the sideskirt but it isnt touching it like on the car in this video.
Sounds like a bent strut mount. Where the strut bolts to the car. Man you hit the curb pretty damn hard.

I had a curb strike that caused the steering wheel to be off center. I was told none of the suspension components were bent. I got an alignment, and the wheel seems to be good. How did the steering wheel go off center without the tie rod being bent?
Depending on the car it may have electronic steering if it's electronic it just needs to be reset and recalibrated to put it back to center

Yes most cars from the early 2000 and on May have a electronic stereo system and system and when you hit the curve it's possible that the steering access inclination center got distorted

I got tboned in an intersection and my rear wheel is bent inward. The mechanic is saying it will cost $700 at least to fix. Its pretty bent so maybe hes right, but Im wondering what other options I have.

@@Jesdesign1 my car still drives fine. I hit the curb straight on, then it knocked me back and rotated the car. It happened while drifting on snow. I suspect the wheel hit the frame of the car.

Your struck tower May be bent. Or your engine cradle could be twisted or damage

Hey man I hit a curb a few months ago, they said I couldn't get an alignment because something was bent and they wanna charge me 1800$ for work but there's nothing obviously bent. If you saw the alignment printout could you guess what wrong, or where to look? They obviously told me the two most expensive parts on the entire suspension hahaha.
It seems very unlikely I bent my lower control arm AND my struts seeing how my car is still drive able with some pull to one side and some tire wear

@@andreamastroiacovo5170 I ended up replacing the control arm and didn't fix anything, I replaced the knuckle and the strut and I'm pretty sure it was my struts
@@anthonyaponte2886 Thanks for replying man. So strut and knuckle and wishbone should do the job then. I didn't hit the curb, I bought the car used and noticed one of the front wheels being slightly pushed back compared to the other. I believe the previous owner must have hit a curb or something at high speed. Will proceed with the wishbone and the strut being replaced, hopefully that will do! Thanks. All good with your car now?
@@andreamastroiacovo5170 yeah well no, the rear still needs some work seeing as both tires hit the curb. but the front is 100% straight now. I have a McPherson style suspension system so no wishbone for me. But yeah i dont think the knuckle was bent but i went ahead and replaced it anyway. I couldnt even find a single bent part but, everything is so oblong its hard to tell. I bought everything on rock auto for about 300$ and replaced it myself. Ive got an apt with the shop for my rear on thursday (only because i cant find the part i need anywhere and the local junk yards dont have my car )

My truck got hit on my driver side front door and rear access door. And little bit on my bed and I think it might of hit the rear tire a bit also because my rear tire looks like is pushed back about an inch or so. And tire is toe ing outward slightly but noticeable. Truck still drives. Just vibrates a little bit when I drive. I still haven’t gone faster than 50 mph just to be safe. Shop is telling me differential is bent. You think so ?
It is definitely been because rear axles are a solid piece unit with very little adjustment if any.
