The fact that the S10's got a price reduction really makes this phone a waste of space.
@biggs949597 s I have been using a LG V10 for the last few years and I agree in the point where you're talking about it!
The rear camera picture quality is superb and it was the best camera phone, back then! (along with the G4 that has essentially the same camera module!)
However, the LG G6 was the worst camera performer that LG released in the last few years!
The picture quality of the main image sensor is terrible! It's a tiny, very small sensor! The worst camera module in a recent LG smartphone!
The LG G8 ThinQ (version with the triple shooter) the LG V40 ThinQ and the LG V50 ThinQ are much better camera performers than the LG G6!
I tested the LG G6 when it was commercially released and I wasn't minimally impressed by it!
I recently bought a new LG V40 ThinQ and it's a much more enjoyable smartphone with a much better camera experience and picture quality compared to the G6!

I really hope the improved audio recording is true. The video audio on V30 sucks bigtime. Especially when sounds shift from quiet to louder. On every V30 i have tried.

@@satwikperla not sure yet. Had it less than 24 hours. Seems better than my S10e so far. Not as good as the One plus 6t I had before. I'll update in a day or so.

@@satwikperla Used it pretty heavy yesterday afternoon after a full charge. I think most of the first day battery drainage is gone. I plugged it in at 43%, it had about 3hr 30 min of SOT at that percentage with a lot of youtube viewing, gaming, and audio usage on mixed wifi / cellular.
For me that is pretty darn good! On my S10e, I would have been at 10-20% with that kind of use, I could only squeeze about 4 hours of SOT on that phone

LG is saving the tri-camera for the V50, maybe? That is somewhat suspect marketing practice...it definitely hemstrings the G8 in U.S.
Tri cam isn't available in us... only other countries...
I got this phone for like two weeks ago and I'm having problem with notifications...I don't receive nothing from certain apps like WhatsApp,Snapchat,PlayStation Messages,until I open the app...I don't have it in battery save mode or such thing related to stop notifications from coming...also I do have enabled the data in the background thingy...does anyone knows how to fix the issue? Or is it the phone itself? I did updated it to the latest version...
And you skipped over one of most significant features.. timelapse. Does have that capability?

Did you test point zoom in cine mode? It worked smoothly on LG v30. Then started to lag and shake on LG v40. Is it smooth in G8?

No matter how much I try, I can't make good pictures or videos with my G8 thin Q phone. I don't understand all this camera talk and am very frustrated with it .

How do I use portrait mode?
Just install Gcam if u don't like night view...to take low light photos.
So long as there's a working port, this is always an excellent option.
Or use Manual Mode

That's the problem with noise filtering. Unfortunately there's no option to disable it on LG's app. You can switch to the free Open Camera app that lets you disable audio processing.
LG phones are great, people who are open minded and don't care about only buying what's popular can save a lot of money buying LG phones because they're always like $200 off the regular price with discounts in most stores
Verizon is practically giving this phone away if you combine the right promotions.

Oh man, answer me something: this G8 does have or does not have a "low light mode"?
For this video looks like it does have, but is weak and don't change much. But at the same time Juan Bagnell say that the G8 have one low light mode that on par with Pixel's Night Sight! And he shows examples! Meanwhile Anandtech publishes his review and says that the G8 have nothing!

What's happening?!
G8 does have a low light mode, it's called Night View. It makes a difference sometimes but mostly in fine detail, not brightness. Not entirely sure what Juan Bagnell did but he got better results from it than we did. It's very situationally dependent, so it's tough to say why the difference is so drastic.

What is If you use Manual Mode in Low light?
You would just use shutter speed and iso to adjust for lighting. Night modes can do what they do freehand because they take multiple exposures and stitch them together, whereas manual mode would likely be one long exposure shot.

Thank God didn't wait to buy the G8. Camera looks horrible to me. S10 shots are better than G8 I felt. Recently, installed a Gcam port for night shots on my s10 - it simply rules now!
gcam for me is not stable enough, feels half baked. Crashes, missing photos etc. I uninstalled it went back to the stock app as it has Pro features.
@@ssaini5028 It very much depends on which gcam port you had actually used as there are so many out there. The one I used with my s10-sd855 works flawlessly, like exactly how a Pixel would. I also understand that the gcam ports for the Exynos chipset have the issues you have mentioned.

Nah, it's just got a better manual mode than an auto mode. In fact, we're going to use it for recording stuff on the channel instead of the V40 for a while, mainly because of some of the new manual mode features.
