  • Join molly & the legend as they show you around the tweetsie railroad theme park located in blowing rock north carolina. The star attraction at this park is of course the railroad itself which includes show scenes with live actors and horses. My favorite ride in the park was the mouse mine which takes guests into a dark ride scene of america's only cheese mine. The park is home to rides, a roller coaster, a chairlift, petting zoo, shows and more.

This park did or still does an awesome Halloween event called the Ghost Train where you ride the train at night and it takes you past spooky scenes in the woods, and the train itself is decked out with a huge creepy skull on the front of the engine! I've been to it at least 3 times in my life and it was like a miniature Universal Horror Nights with the whole park decorated and the park employees walking around in costumes and makeup.

I went there when I was little and you never forget the experience. The Cherokee mountains are beautiful and you watch live shows. It was amazing The Cherokee Indians are beautiful people.

It has nothing to do with Cherokee or Cherokee Indians.

Good to see one of the lesser known attractions get attention.

I live in Hickory and apparently went when I was a baby, so I don’t remember anything. I need to go just for myself since everyone I know remembers going.

I was surprised at the price. If you buy your ticket online Carowinds is $40 to $60 depending on the day. It is definitely a different experience though. A lot of actors at Tweetsie will make it more difficult to keep the prices low.

I came here a couple times in the 90's as a kid on family vacation... It looks almost exactly the same today as it did back then. In regards to the price, I think it's more of a demand issue and the park having limited capacity. It helps keep the charm by filtering attendance. A $30 admission would make it unpleasant and send the queue lines even longer.

This place reminds me of Six gun territory that was in Ocala, They had a train ride with a show and a carnival that u and died there.

  • @carwashesandotherfunvideos

The sad thing is that they replaced the Round Up Ride with The Bullwhip which is a frisbee ride.

Great summary of the park! Did you have to pay extra for any of the attractions once you were inside the park?

We did not, with the exception of buying food for the petting zoo

Yeah not cheap for adults but I’m glad it’s still around.

  • @history_leisure

Yeah, that's more than $25/hr, especially for what is on offer at the price point. Be nice if it was like $15-20 for the main train ride and sky ride and all the other attractions are pay-per-ride

$30/hr is pretty much going rate for tourist traps like Ripley's Believe It or Not, Titanic Experience, WonderWorks, etc. You also have to remember Legend and Molly were on the short end of the spectrum being adults without children. Someone with kids is going to spend more than just two hours here as their kids will want to do more.
