Great video!! Also fun to think that it wasn't too long ago that the G14 didn't even have a front camera, while now they exclusively have one with an IR scanner.
Hm I highly doubt those are the starting prices though, all the other reviewers said they'd be similar to last gen.

@@Beowolfenstein Was also thinking the same until ASUS dropped the bomb on this. The new G16 will be significantly cheaper than the blade 16 while having the same sleek design and quality the blades are known for. Sure, I'll be losing a bit of performance but I think it's worth it if it means saving over $1,000 to get a similar experience.
I'm glad I waited so long before getting a new laptop. they have finally evolved to a form factor and power output I can agree with

Any idea when they're planning to debut the new X16 model? They've launched two versions during last year, to jump to new processors and GPU's, but it's expected that a new refreshed model is introduced this year as well for the X16 line.

i have the 2023 one, this one looks cool but it doesn't seem like a significant upgrade, it would seem like a logical purchase for people that never owned one before , I'm very happy and content with my 2023 one, only complaint is the battery life, the 2023 rbg backlit keyboard looks better on the 2023 one than the 2024 one IMO but its cool

I'm not sure whether or not to buy a fully spec'd G14 or a MacBook M3 Pro with 12-core (and 36GB RAM). Both seem very nice, but I love to game and don't have a desktop, so for now the G14 looks like a better choice I think.

good review. That slash graphic is baaaad. I know you are partnered with Asus so you have to be kind, but they crippled the gpu and the chassis is now basically a razer... Interesting they went that route considering the G14 is one of the most successful laptops in recent memory.

@@yamito3809 No it would not be carrying a monitor already. The smallest default monitor size used to be 24". Ever heard of traveling to.. another desk in another city? Ever heard of people that just love a small form factor? Yes a 18" laptop has a massively lower volume than a bulky desktop pc that you cannot move. Go away with your desktop :)

I really wish ASUS would take their ProArt Studiobook design and just put a better GPU with more VRAM in that mofo! It's such a good design for creators, but it lacks horsepower. There's also the updated Zenbook to consider, another great device imho, but again: no integrated numpad. What you get is a digital one that you can activate in the touchpad instead, which is something at least, but ideal. The other annoying thing is, the keyboard doesn't stay flat, it is tilted on a hinge which is terrible for your wrists on longer sessions. The advantage is a much better cooling and better sound, but I don't know if it is worth it. It also has a precision dial which you can set up for different short-cuts which is nice and dandy, but it is touch unlike the mechanical version of the ProArt. So you will misspress it - a lot.
The ROG and Zenbook are cool, but I *REALLY* hope to see an updated 2024 model of the ProArt with a better GPU. Right now it feels like a lot of missed potential and it makes me sad.
I'm in love. The pricing tho.

The G16 with 4070/80/90 is being sold with 32GB ram in Australia but apparently you only get one stick, so you HAVE to open it up and add another if you want dual channel ram? (DC ram is essential IMO).

Is 115w enough for 4090? So it happened? Real 4090 consumes almost 350w. Which graphics card will we consider this as equivalent to? Has our money become waste?

This is as much performance you can get out of these thin designs. 4090 laptop performance-wise is 4070ti desktop equivalent.

It's 1900 for the 4070 model, or so I've heard. 4060 model's pricing should be about the same as last gen.
OLED ? Is that supposed to be a good thing ? What about screen burn-in. OLED on laptop is not a good thing for long term use.

6:08 very silent lol. Paid review. I've seen so many reviews and I bought the g16 with rtx 4070 variant with core ultra 9. It's ok that you do paid reviews and it is expected for a gaming laptop this thin to get hot and to have loud fans, but don't mislead people by telling what the manufacturer puts in your mouth. The G16 gets really hot above the keyboard and at the back. The exhaust vents are partially covered by the top cover when it is open. You would definitely need a laptop stand with this. This laptop is overall nice with it's sleek design and is plenty powerful with lot of pros. But fan noise is high and it gets hot on the surface. I think reviewers should not hide this fact.
The fact that they are OLED kills it for me, these laptops are not for productivity
I don’t get the slash. Not as useful as the matrix display types, and doesn’t look as good imo as just regular RGB accents. Seems to make it look more like the laptop is just broken.
It looks like a macbook that can game and the slash is just a flashy thing at least using anime matrix u could add ur clock

Bad devices! Soldered ram. OLED? Thanks I do not want burn in risk. I want mini led or micro led in the future. Additionally tdp is less performance than last year.
I'll take OLED any day over some stupid miniLED and microLED will probably never make it to consumer devices (or at least not in the forseeable future). Soldered ram isn't terrible in that it has it's benefits and hopefully they'll provide higher ram options. As for tdp, yeah... they should've made it at least 125 or 130W.
It does not matter the brand I tried. My probIem with gaming Iaptops is the hardware. AIways something faiIs, gets broken, stop working..... they work fast untiI the end but the hardware.....ugh

The light bar looks clean and OLED is peak image quality, cope ig. If you just take basic care of an OLED it won’t burn in and these days you barely even have to do that.
