That is a terrifying amount of fabric to buy
with an equally terrifying price tag, i'm sure!
right đ
Right? And even if it was $1 a yard, so much money.
@@TealCheetah đ§ i am probably going to do as much as I can with a fabric that costs 1.5-2 âŹ/m and it's still SO MUCH
This is probably someoneâs million dollar wedding dress
So we're learning most of the film budget was paying for fabric lmao
@cheesburger_ ohne_kaese Seriously I would not be surprised. The dress was absolutely gorgeous! I pretend Belle's dress from the live action BATB doesn't even exist.
and I watched somewhere that the movie even had multiple of cinderella's gown, one for running, another one for dancing and some others for different scenes cause they needed/had different lengths
So where learning most of the film budget was payung for fabric lmao
Do i litteraly watch all the video about this cinderella dress when i don't even sew , or own a sewing machine ? Yes.
Same!!!!! I want one in pink đ© lol
Join the club, thatâs what we all do! đ
Yup! Me too!
And I didnt even saw this movie đ đ€·ââïž
Absolutely. I can only just seen a button on đ
Someday when I've saved up enough I will come back to these videos to use as actual tutorials. For now they're just entertainment/company when sewing :)
Same I really want to make this dress
Oh my that is a whole lotta flounces to make. My friend made a wedding dress one time that had a skirt covered in flounces, she had her husband create the flounce template(s) using AutoCAD (or similar) and sent that and the folded fabric to the laser cutter. It didn't cost a whole lot and the flounces were perfectly cut and didn't fray and she didn't go mad trying to cut them all out by hand.
Wild! Thatâs so cool! đŻ
Oooh! Brilliant idea!
Advice for frills pattern: the bigger the "doughnut" shape pattern of the flounce is the less movement you'll have and the more you'll need to gather to obtain more movement. Therefore the smaller the "doughnut" is the more movement you have (but you'll obtain a small amount in lenght). Hope this was well explained! đđ
Yup, it's kinda a hard thing to wrap your mind around, but yes, definitely!
I feel the same about the donut pattern. In my mind, I picture the flounces would be cut out as mini circle skirts. Small enough to be a full length skirt for a Barbie doll. The "waist" would be the length/width that is sewn to the edge of the human size skirt. That would minimize gathering fabric but still have that frilly look.
@@sRp517 in the way I see it would do something in between so have a good bit of lenght that I can gather. Also those flounces are going to have a fishing line at the hem so it'll emphasize the movement. I would also do some trials because you can't really imagine how fabric would react and also there is a possibility that the pattern would be different for every different fabric she uses because of how much of a different movement they obtain.
@@Giovanni-rc1hs I totally agree. I've been looking at pictures of the flounces and they look like they're about 6-9 inches in width and length. It's a complete guesstimate and of course it would vary from the different fabrics used. This is really getting the gears in my head to turn! I'm so excited to see the progression of this dress and Bella's techniques!
@@sRp517 Bella is going to do the right thing, she's really good!
I honestly never thought a person would need this much math to make a dress... my goodness, this all sounds like so much work! Every time I watch one of your videos I end up in awe, just so impressed!
Every time I see one of your videos, I leave absolutely frothing with the desire to re-create this dress (well, a close representation) in her original silver.
That Yumissima fabric is transcendent! Itâs like magic! I canât even imagine the cost, but if one can swing it, it sure does lend that ethereal, made of magic feel to the gown. What an amazing project!
Watching you in every step of creating this ballgown just excites me so much - every time you put up a new video it's like watching the newest episode of my favourite TV-series :D
Awwwww! đ
OMG FINALLY CINDERELLA VIDEOS I WAS DYING HAHAH!
(All your videos are great but for these ones I was waiting too much haha)
Btw bangs look great in you. You are very beautiful. Youâre one of the best youtubers đ
Oh and BTW again, I really appreciate the free - PDF yardage of fabric.
Thanks đ
You have mysteriously managed to create dramatic tension. I LONG to see the production of flounces. I need to see an in depth dive into the production of petticoat flounces. I question my sanity. But, if loving flounces is wrong -I don't wanna be right! LOL
Me too and I don't even sew !
Haha!! It's a coming....
Okay , DIY'ing this dress directly translates to emptying my bank account . This is why I chose painting instead of creating costumes .
This is insane - never expected so close to one hundred likes
how much did it cost?
So. Much. Fabric!! I applaud your dedication, I just know this dress is going to be stunning
That Yumissima fabric is so entrancing! If you do decide to sell any leftover, please let me know
Iâd want it to just wave it around lol
I have not seen you with your hair down before. I love the bangs!
Thanks! Just cut the bangs after Christmas!
I wish someone generous who is wealthy would donate enough funds to cover all the fabric cost of this dream dress. It is quite the undertaking just to create it without worrying about the funding and sourcing... You are so brave and strong. Vlogging this project is quite a feat! Thanks for your hard work and sacrifices.
I cannot even imagine using that much fabric. The dress is so beautiful!
Can't wait to see how you hem/finish the beautiful but evil nylon iridescent fabric.
My goodness...the maths!! I wouldnât even know where to start! (Love your hair)
I'm redoing a Live Action Cinderella cosplay. The first time I started was with wearing a licensed one but I wasn't happy with it. Now I'm using a little girl's tutu skirts from the Dollar Tree. So far the costs have been up to $25. I wish I could post pics to show you my dress. đ I hope to get back to making it again later this month or next month.
Math sounds like a different language. Especially when thereâs so much of it all at once
Me waiting for this video like đ
Canât wait for this dress to be finished!!!
Omg DYE THE MOOD FABRIC! It would be an amazing video, and you only need to spend the money on a yard of it. It would be a huge pain in the butt, we get it. Only you can decide how much you want to acheive a perfect replica, but it would be amazing to see you do it. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the encouragement...I'm not sure you're a good influence! JK, đ I'll probably end up doing it, I just have to figure out how to ombre dye something....plus, I've never dyed polyester before...đ
Oh, the Yumissima fabric again....oh my gosh! đđđ I love it! All of these fabrics look so good and I'm really looking forward to see how you making the dress. đđđ
Wow you are a freaking superstar at Fabric calculations! I feel like fi I were making this dress for me I would need like.... three times the amount of fabric. Can you say NEVER doing this??? Except maybe as a wedding dress >.>
I made this dress for my daughter. It turned out so beautiful. I only used one layer of tule. The rest was organza and chifon
The day we bought the 220 yards of fabric for my wedding dress I did the math like 5x because I couldn't quite believe it! We used every inch!!
Now we need a picture of the dress :D
wow, i can't even tell you how mind-bogglingly impressed i am that you're going to make the dress again! it's going to be sooooo incredible!
I am in awe of your understanding of fabrics and sewing as a whole
This whole project is amazing!
the amount of work you're putting into this project is incredible! And thank you so much for providing us the pdf!!
Your videos are so helpful and always so fun to watch!!! Keep it up!!
I'm looking forward to watching this journey!
You had me giggling throughout this video. So excited for this project, BellaïŒxx
Oh, that's fun to hear! :)
I can sew, but I'm skilled between beginner and intermediate. I feel like I could pull this the flounces, but struggle with the dress and bodice. When I get more skilled, I will probably download the PDF for the petticoat so I will be able to make adjustments for my waist size. I am very grateful for the fabrics PDF as it is a good place to start. I will have to get some poly organza to practice the flounces since I haven't worked with that material yet. I appreciate you sharing this journey with us.
I am not a seamstress. I actually stresses me out to use a sewing machine. But this dress is my dream dress. Iâm so excited to see you make this! Loving watching the progress.
Omg you just saved my future self w that garbage bag storage trick. THANK YOU.
This information is incredible! One day I hope I can make my own! I'm so excited to see the rest of this series!!
Trying to math as you list fabrics...$8/yd for this $15/yd for that $3/yd here, $25/yd there, and as for the top layer I am guessing at least $80/yd? I remember you got a good deal but canât even imagine what retail is...wow! Great work. Keep it up.
Every new chart I can only think how many years it'd take me to get enough money for this fabric. This is absurdly expensive
Love sewing, never took on a project quite this complex, never had a place to wear such an extravaganza.
Wow. Incredible amount of know-how and research!
Thank you for all your hard work doing these videos. I very much enjoy them. Even though I do not plan to attempt this dress anytime soon I feel a lot of the things you go over are very helpful for dresses like this and I eagerly wait for the next video. Please give this lovely lady a tip if you download her PDF.
finished, frilly, fluffy flounces is my new favorite tongue twister.
but, MATH!!!! đ±
Totally subscribing to see how this adventure ends!đđ
My God, I don't know anything about sewing, but I really want to learn and I'm sure I will make this dress for my wedding in the future, so until then I'm learning from the CZcams videos, seriously thanks for sharing your work with Us â€ïž
Ps: I'm learning English too Kkkkkkkkkk love from Brazilâ€ïžđ§đ·
Iâm soooo excitedđđ
I'm so looking forward to seeing you make this dress. My sowing ability is only that of what I was taught in year 5 and making things for my chinchilla (hammock and blankets all made of anti pile fleece) I wish I could do something similar for my dream wedding dress đ
Earlyyyy I've been waiting for this video thank you so muchhhđđ
oh, bella! your pdf is glorious! so much detail! it even looks pretty. :)
the pandemic bangs are super cute, btw!
Some day, I would love to make a dress like this!!
It was very very very helpful. Thank you sooooo much.đđ
I legit yelled "YAY! " when I saw you posted đ
This was great! Its this type of stuff I high key live for!
Btw you've said in the past that you are a bit of a perfectionist so I think wether you get the mood fabric or not will probably come down to if you think you'll be happy with the fabric you have. I support you either way
Aw, thanks!
Wow. All these years I've been gathering fabric. Flounces! Made from curved fabric. Thank you. (note probably not going to work so well with dress net, but we'll see)
now all i need to do is to work out suitable radii etc
This is so exciting! đ
Still speechless for this đđđ
omg the fedora cut, i love it
can't wait to see the final result
This so greatly helped me! Iâm trying to sew my daughterâs birthday dress. Sheâs turning 2 and Cinderella is the 2nd princess (plus was my favorite growing up) so Iâm desperate for materials to use. We watch the movie together every night since itâs her favorite to watch as she dozed off so I want the dress to be perfect!
I had wanted to make this dress and now I'm thinking I'll just keep it in my dreams.
12:56 WHAT DID I HEAR?! I AM THE FIRST COSTUMER.
May God put his blessings on you as you work on this incredible dress. I cant wait to see this as you work on it.
I loveee you channel sm!
Wow you have a lot of fighting your sewing machine ahead đđ canât wait â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
I don't know how I landed up on this channel? But I'm a truck driver, and I'm watching for a friend!^)
Whenever I watch your videos
Amazing as always â€ïž
Thank you for amazing videos
big likeeeeeee đđđ
It must be very hard to source the right shade of blue, because the dress in real life is a diferent colour then the dress in the movie, because all of the colour correction and such. Wich colour are you aiming for? Because if its a "screen" acurate, I dont think that the blue is too dark.
I think she is going for the color of the actual dress, not the color corrected one in the movie.
I'm mainly going for the actual dress color, but I'm going to add a dash more blue to the outer fabric layer!
@@BellaMaesDesigns It Will end up looking in between the 2 versions. Wich Will look amazing, no doubt!
I am VERY new to your channel. Like a few hours in on this journey. Canât wait to see the dress. Have to say, the first Cinderella dress videos, I thought you were like 20-21 years old. This video says like 30 year old mom of children. I am now confused and may eventually figure that out! You are beautiful with a lovely personality, great sewing skills. Thanks for sharing this series!
Welcome!!! Haha, so I was 15 in the very first Cinderella dress video (the one thatâs kinda shaky camera shots!) and then in these videos (making my 6th Cinderella dress) I was 21. (And I have a lot of nieces and nephews who sometime make appearances in videos!)
Anyway, I am currently 22! Hopefully that clears things up! :)
This is so interesting!
Once I save the money I'm using this as a loose general ballgown tutorial since I like the shape of the Cinderella dress but plan go change the neckline and colors. Rn it's just really fun to watch though ^-^
Everyone bought sewing machines and after finishing masks, we are looking for more challenging projects. Dress styles may change a lot after this pandemic is over. How many people with FFFF dresses fit in a regular subway train? đ€đđ€Ł
I'm here thinking I want to join in on the journey of making this dress. Also me = broke with little to no knowledge of dress making.... but maybe ... maybe in the future LOL. Definitely will be going back to rewatch every videos to learn to make this dress.
Hi, the close up photos are taken by me :) If you need HD versions of it let me know and a credit would be nice too! Good luck with it!
Oh, the bodice ones? I always try my best to find who takes this photos so I can credit, but I'm afraid sometimes I can't find it out! Thanks for commenting, I'll be sure to credit you! Just let me know which ones are yours!
@@BellaMaesDesigns no worries at all. Iâve posted them way back when but they spread around the web đđ itâs not easy to always find out.
For sure the very close up one from the back. Maybe the slightly side one too but I canât remember when I checked my pics haha. Iâll let you know.
YASSSS ITS HERE
Hi there. I just finished watching the 'flounce' video and this one I am now leaving a comment on. First you are by all means a hero to even attempt making such a complicated dress. In watching this it reminded of the segments on cable t.v. of this lady who makes gypsy wedding dresses. Those dresses were over the top. I can only imagine how much work went into these designs. Your DIY riggings were fantastic. I compliment you on your configuring the setup. You made mention on how expensive the fabric cost, to get down to the brass tacks just how much did each layer cost and how much did all of the layers and notions set you back. What was the final price of the dress. I truly would love to know. I will be watching more of your videos and I want to see how you completed the dress. Thank you for showing us your work. BTW I LOVE that hat it's so cute! Please keep making videos like this they are so amazing. Take care and God bless.
wow, Bella, thank you so much for doing all the math :D :D :D this must have been SO MUCH WORK!!!
wicked. so much fabric in one garment...
i don't intend to make that dress, still, it's very interesting what goes into it.
is the next video sewing??? sorry, i'm so curious LOL
You shall find out....
Third, I love ur vids ( Iâm only 50 seconds late!)
I would like to suggest you get a smocking machine. I spent several years making civil war costumes. When you have to gather all of that fabric in tiny pleats it makes it so much easier. Using 6 needles and 6 rows of gathers, this allows you a very tight gather.
I remember in a past video in this series you weren't sure if you were going to do frills or flounces, so I was wondering what made you decide on flounces? Also I might have missed this answer in a previous video so sorry if you've already answered this.
Thank you so much !
Are you going to say in the end how much this dress actually cost to make? Sounds like thousands. You are amazing that you can figure all that out. It's so daunting. I know you will do a beautiful job, you are so talented.
This is the video I want about this dress
You should do a video on how to work with the source of the super organza to purchase. Iâm sure they would love the extra business.
What a great day to be dyslexic
I am your biggest fan of yours
I'm so gratefull for your research and the PDF đ Thank you so much!
I plan on making Cinderella this year (starting march/april) but not quite pushing for the best replica you're aiming for. I'll have to change fabrics according to my budget. What would you recommend to replace yumissima with? Will silk organza be too heavy?
If so, I might have to change the yardage needed but I really can't afford a fabric that don't even have a price tag on the website.đ
Silk organza is very expensive for me but I gather that for the outer layers only (and silk crepe for the skirt) I can save up for that.
Can't wait to see your next cinderella video and to use one of your patterns â€ïž
Oh yay, that's so exciting! I'd recommend trying to find a lightweight poly organza! Silk Organza probably wouldn't be the best to substitute these layers for, you want a slippery fabric and as lightweight as you can find!
Gorgeous
I need and love this dress
I LOVE YOUR CINDERELLA DRESS SERIES!!!!!!
This may be a strange question but are you ever afraid that Disney will sue you or have your videos taken down? I was watching another CZcamsr a few years ago who recreated designer dresses and they sued her because 'exposing trade secrets?' or something like that. she had to delete her videos. I would hate to see that happen to you because you are so talented. I don't want to have you worried if it is not an issue but i dont want any large company coming after you.
I'm not incredibly worried! In order to be considered a copyright infringement it has to be incredibly close to the original design (and everything!) In order to be safe from it, I think is has to be around 10% different...which my dress will definitely be! There's no way I could know exactly how the made every little bit....at least I hope! đ. So yes, I guess there's a chance it could be risk, but I think I'm okay! Also, I'm not sure what situation the lady you mentioned was in, but if she use to work in the industry and then started putting stuff out, I could see that "exposing trade secrets" could be an issue. But I've never worked on anything like that...learned everything I know from public information and private personal experience.
I love fabric.
Curious about your petticoat design....with only 4 yards for the second petticoat layer going over the first godet layer... won't the narrower profile second petticoat layer "trap" the first godet layer down so the flounces below aren't free to spin out? Or is that intentional to keep the flow of ruffles filling up the space from the floor on up as the dress twirls? Love watching your work and always looking forward to the next video!
Are you gonna upload the pattern pdf on your website when you get to that stage Iâm gonna make this gown as well and the only patterns Iâve found are ones that use less fabric but Iâm following the way youâre doing it from the pdf of the fabric
I noticed that also, the layers of different fabrics affecting the top sheer layer. In the movie it looks like the top blue layer kind of fights with the layer underneath when she twirls and dances. The top blue layer looks like a matte organza sheer with glitter or tiny silver sequins. The layer under the blue looks like a poly white/iridescent organza with a shiny texture. Under that looks like regular fine matte bridal net in several layers. Just a guess. Wide bridal net is not expensive. Measure the length of waist to floor with your hoop on and add fold over for waist and hem on the top two layers. Net doesn't need to be hemmed.
she already found the original fabrics :) the top one is silk and the two other ones are special kind of organza, you are not far haha
Wow so much maths my brain cannot cope!
I knew this going be challenge to make this dress, that alot of fabric. If decide make this pdf sewing pattern in future, put pictures and alot details to make this dress. It amazing that able you figure all fabric needed for this project. You may have buy that fabric and dyed to right color. Plus looks way much better. When do that process, use waterproof cameras instead and dye sample it. Good luck
every time I see the Cinderella gown, I understand why Sandy Powell has 3 Oscars!
Hi, I have the sneakig suspicion that the amount of fabric a creator says goes into the dress, they are actually talking about the yardage at the bottom. So in this case that would be the total length of flounce on the bottom end. Because admit... saying I have 20 yards of fabric around my enkles sounds a lot more impressive than saying I used 5 yards of fabric.
Ofcourse that is not how they phrased it, but following my example, technically speaking you would have used 20 yards. It is just not the with it had on the bolt.
