To be fair, neither did Cinderella's stepmother nor stepsisters (who've seen her for a large chunk of her life) The stepmother only had a suspicion at first, but was confirmed when she saw how strangely happy Cinderella was. All of it could be simply chalked up to magic as it would've been stupid to just show up to a ball, undisguised, knowing your step-family is there.

Ok, so, one of the theories about why it’s called a “glass slipper” suggests it actually comes from an error in writing
In French, glass is called “verre”, and originally, fairytales were an oral tradition
But there is a material, a fur material called “vair”, which isn’t very well known anymore (it’s squirrel fur, I’m not even kidding), and it’s pronounced the same way as “verre”
So the theory states that it hasn’t been translated into writing well, then it was translated to other languages, and then Disney did an actual glass slipper that could break and it was sealed in our head
So the original slipper was made of a furry material!
Also, a lot of the fairytale’s versions didn’t even state the material of the slipper

It would have been almost impossible to find someone to fit that shoe perfectly I think, because it was pretty nartow at the top but wider and longer in the bottom - you would have needed someone with very slim feet which are normal sized.
In addition, a perfectly fitting shoe doesn't fall off.

Well it was just a dress, the fabric seemed to be fairly thin, I think it’s very possible
but depending on the fabric and the stitching, if done in a traditional medieval style, may not rip as easily. I also think they should attempt to shoot an arrow at a target right after doing it.
Silver Sweet well, archery takes practice to even hit the target. To even try to do that would take days so, no, I doubt they’ll do that. Anyways, I think it is absolutely possible to do what Merida did.

I think he sized the shoe so that the outside of the shoe matches the insole she drew, but with shoes you need the inside to match instead of the outside and sadly he didn't do that at all.

I'm a glassblower and I think he did a great job on those shoes. Shaping it to fit is hard to do by hand. I made some Glass-Knuckles that took several re-workings to fit my hand.

To be fair, Disney’s Cinderella’s shoes weren’t made by blowing, it may have had a better fit design inside, and even a little friction on the bottom.
Fun fact: in the original French version of Cinderella, the glass slipper was a "pantoufle de vair" which actually means that the slipper ("pantoufle") was made of "vair", which refers to the fur of grey and white squirrels. Because it sounds very similar (like... literally exactly the same) in French to "verre", which means "glass", it slowly became a... glass slipper. When it was supposed to be made of fur. Here you go.

Glimzy the Bee I twisted my ankle falling from the stairs at my workplace. It hurt a lot and after 4 months and several physical therapy sessions it still hurts. When I fell I was wearing snickers, both safe and comfortable, but I fell nonetheless. So it was really uncomfortable for me to see her falling from the stairs in those wicked shoes. I don’t think this kind of experiment should be encouraged: it was really dangerous for that employee.

I read somewhere that the shoes were originally leather and in some translation it got changed into glass.
I believe it was fur in the original but the reason for that isn't pleasant....

You know in the Grimm brothers version of this story the stepsisters did cut off part of their feet to fit the shoe. The Grimm Brothers version of fairytales are often much darker than the Disney version

Actually the Grimm brothers added the cutting off parts of feet to fit in the slipper. In the previous versions of the story, including the Charles Perrault one that invented the glass slipper, that never happened.
Fun Fact: The steps of grand staircases were shorter and deeper so that the women wouldn't trip in their dresses. They would have been a lot less steep than the staircases we're used to.
*Note: This was true of mansions during the gilded age. I am not positive if it is also true for castles during the 1600s and 1700s. I would assume so, but I may be wrong.

I'm pretty sure it was because the shoe was either unattached from her outfit at the time of 12:00am, or the fairy godmother planned it the whole time.
In the new Cinderella movie there is an answer for it. The outfit was a transformation of old things that already existed and that would return to rags at 0.00, it was all just a short magical illusion, a fake. Otherwise, the shoes were the only thing created from nothing, as a new object. This is why they don't disappear.
In the old disney version, this theory is not specified, but I believe that the shoes where a gift from fairy godmother to Cinderella, which is quite similar to what the new movie clarifies
I have a head canon that the shoes, since they were made from magic and were magical, recognized the situation and one of them slipped off to tempt the prince to find her. the reason why it didnʻt fit anyone else was because the slipper made sure that it would only fit Cinderella (maybe changing its size slightly idk) but thats just what I think

I think the problem was the stairs, in the cartoon they seem more bigger in length which gave Cinderella the ability to step on them perfectly, in the real test, the stairs barely had space for the girls feet to land on. That's why she kept falling
