We had LOTR themed wedding and I've designed my dress, bought fabrics and then got it to local seamstress. The outcome was even more fabulous than my sketches and imagination were and it all cost less than 180$ -- so it was actually better than my dream dress, it fits like a glove (I'm petite and it is PAIN to find long dress that doesn't have looong torso or neckline for small chest and bodyframe) and it was cheap☺💚 So if anyone wants dress with specific theme I encourage you to do your own design and get it done custom ^^

My wedding dress was gorgeous. $99 on David's Bridal clearance. The details on it was impeccable. I was honestly surprised at the cost. It was marked down so much because the color wasn't popular at the time. Bright white and ivory were the trends back then.
That is SUCH a risk though. I'm so glad it worked out for you, but I've had brides whose dresses get lost a week before their wedding because David's Bridal refuses to hold anything even if it's paid for. I would never recommend depending on DB to anyone.
I got mine on discount at David’s Bridal too! It was only like $250 because it was the floor sample and they weren’t making the dress anymore so they wanted it out of the store haha Surprisingly it looked like it had never even been tried on. They also didn’t overcharge me for alterations and did a great job there (I’ve worked as a professional seamstress but wouldn’t have been able to do these alterations on myself). I loved my dress and so did my husband on our wedding day 😃 Had a great experience there overall!
My sister being overweight got a lot of abuse shopping for a wedding dress. I wasn't able to shop with her. Finally, David's Bridal helped her and found a slimming style. She looked beautiful .
I got mine at David’s bridal too for I think $800 in 2011. I loved it. It was perfect. There’s too much pressure now for crazy boutique dresses.

I wasn't surprised to find out that wedding dresses for less than 50$ are thin, non-fitting things. But it's nice to know that there are wedding dresses out there for less than 1,500$ that one could actually wear to a wedding and look good in
I actually got my wedding dress from an etsy store, and it was exactly what i wanted. I got it for like $580. I looked so beautiful for less than $1,000!👌🏼✨️

The last one you tried on is my absolute DREAM dress!!! I cried the first time I saw a picture of it but was so worried that it wasn’t going to be the same! Seeing on you and seeing that it’s exactly like the picture makes me so beyond happy! I’d love to get that dress for my wedding ❤

With boutiques like that you pay for a custom fit as well but definitely still too expensive!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the dresses that are ridiculously affordable are often made by people who are enslaved or paid extremely low. It’s a very sad industry situation. When you pay for a thousand dollar and up dress, you are getting something that was made by people who are being paid a livable wage. I know it sucks having to pay more for a dress but sometimes it’s worth it knowing you’re supporting better work practices.
That's why my wedding dress will be just a simple white dress. Because I want a beach barbecue wedding where everyone comes with their bathing suites and we will go in the sea, and I will just rent out beach chair's and do a simple wedding decorations.
Most people forget that for the fullness you HAVE to have a petticoat. Don’t forget that on your wedding day if you want a poofy dress 😊
Yes! And slips? Petticoats, crinolines, slips, so many people don't seem to know about them, and they absolutely level up how your dresses look/feel!
A petticoat also keeps a hot dress away from the bride's legs keeping them cooler while making her dress drape better. Just learned from a friend who has been doing wedding dress alterations most of her life
Lol no you don’t need a petticoat to achieve fullness…that’s just 1 of a few different ways to get that look

My princess dress is unbelievably full with volume. I don't need a petticoat or anything else to make it puff out and full
I bought a second-hand vintage gown on ebay for less than 10$. Made some alterations both for the right fit and for a custom (and more current looking) design. Loved it. Kept the costs for dress, reception, flowers, photos etc. low and instead used it on a lengthy honeymoon trip.

That $150 dress is beautiful!! All of the dresses above that price range I feel were fairly accurate, but I was impressed with the corset top of the $150 dress. So fun, love videos like this!

I would love to see Hope review the Disney wedding dress collections. Also I would think she has 50/50 luck with Etsy because it used to just be handmade, crafted, or curated vintage but a couple years ago they allowed drop shippers... so now it is partially a bunch of stuff from Ali Express, Wish, etc.

This was thrilling to watch! I actually got my PERFECT wedding gown for $99.99 in the clearance section way in the back at David's Bridal. It was exactly what I wanted with a gorgeous beaded bodice. Girls, don't be afraid to search in the back of the stores, that's where all the deals are!

I had always dreamt of a Christmas wedding… so my heart was set on a velvet wedding dress. After some googling, didn’t appear to be a thing. However, I cheated the system and bought a $189 velvet bridesmaid dress that came in white, absolutely stunning! Sweetheart neckline, train, buttons down the back. Would totally recommend going that route! The label doesn’t have to say “bridal” for it to be perfect🎄

This is such a great hack, I did the same thing because I didn't want a white dress. I ended up getting married in a green bridesmaid's dress for around 200 dollars, and it was gorgeous. I never understood the wish to pay thousands for a dress you literally can only wear once, we spent that money on a nice honeymoon instead!

Got my wedding dress from a wedding dress chain for $99, got my veil for cheap off of Amazon (it had beautiful beading that matched the dress), shoes from DSW and a belt to change the dress vibe. All in, 99+23+49+39=$210 and I borrowed the petticoat. Yes it can be done and yes it looked great

Yup! Mine was about $200 and it looked awesome. I never understand people spending thousands on a dress that will only be worn for a couple of hours.
I'm absolutely in love with the luxe redux dress! It's in my Pinterest for my future wedding because it's literally my favorite dress and I'm so in love with it
The dress at 7:05 is very similar to the wedding dress my wife bought online for £60. The skirt wasn't poofy enough so I suggested an underskirt of a similar material which she managed to source on amazon of all places. She looked like an elven princess and it was incredible especially for such a low price (my wife loves a bargain xD).

I was obsessed with looking at wedding dresses in college. My husband and I were already dating and knew we wanted to get married. Then, after all that, I wore my great-aunt's dress from the 50s and only tried on various family members' dresses. Lol
I love the idea of borrowing a wedding dress. So many couples have one that no one will ever wear again, so if you have family or even good friends, you can just...put it out there that you're looking.
I love the first etsy one. It does look stunning at you too ♡ and it's around half of my dress in cost, but nearly the same. I just love it, you should really think about taking this one for you

My wedding dress was 69 Euros for the fabric and a lot of work. And it was handmade and tailored for me and exactly as I wanted it. Because I made it myself. Learn to sew everyone. Affordable dream dresses incoming ;)

Ukrainian wedding dress industry is really well known for surprisingly cheap and well-made dresses. My friend was getting married and got the most gorgeous gown for about $500. Not sure how much shipping it to the States would cost though.

The shipping isn't horrible. Less than a hundred dollars probably! Although with the war going on it may never arrive. It is very spotty over there. It's hard to get things in and out of Kiev even! 😢😢😢

My wedding dress (13th anniversary is in 9 days ❤) was about $120, including shipping. Custom made too, white with a lot of black detailing. This was back when most online orders came how they looked online 😅. I know I lucked out, but I'd be scared to have to order it now😅...

I went into a bridal salon, had the whole salon experience so I could figure out the right silhouette for me. I fell in love with a $5000 layered princess tulle gown. THEN I went online and bought the exact dress directly from China 😂 It was MASSIVE and GORGEOUS ❤Gown and alterations for under $400.
You got lucky. Most don't have a positive outcome: either it doesn't arrive in time or it's so cheaply made that it'd be embarrassing to wear it.
@@cheripowers9924 fair but that's the power of planning and reviews. I researched the seller, watched online review videos and read hundreds of others. I ordered with two months of lead time and an adequate window for alterations. I also bought two backup gowns (Amazon and Torrid) knowing I could return them if I didn't love my first choice.
Saving money does tend to require more legwork. I was ready to do it.

Luxe Redux is a legitimate store and website! It’s a consignment store, I think. The dresses are samples or new dresses that other brides have given to the company to sell for them. They have stores in the Midwest to try too (and will ship dresses to different stores if you want to try it on). I’ve bought a sold a dress through them!

I love that you do comparisons with the dresses. My husband died q8 months ago. When we got married my dress was only 300.00. My veil was only 3.00. I am still in love with my dress! It is classic. On the other hand the wedding dresses today are so different and beautiful! I live looking at all the new dresses that they have come out with. My bridesmaid's dresses were so pretty and my favorite color was blue. Today the bridesmaid's dresses can come in black or Grey. Back in 1979, that was never heard of. Today it looks really good!

I ordered some summer dresses from Walmart about a month ago. Every one was a material I didn't recognize and nothing like the ad. I returned everything at my local Walmart.

I actually used to work at a Luxe Redux boutique and they get sample dresses from actual boutiques that are either getting discontinued or the store doesn’t want to carry anymore and sell them. They are actual designer dresses that you can purchase off the rack at a very discounted price. They are amazing!
