    Simon, first and foremost, your comment about Roman Abramovich being one of Putin`s cohorts is not what the British High Court ruled on two separate occasions, as he was cleared of this accusations on both occasions. So please get your facts right, and secondly his assets were stripped without any due legal process, which is the right of anyone in the UK. Banana Republic springs to mind. The CST along with the majority of Chelsea fans completely understand the dramatic changes that have been forced upon the club, but their concerns are about whether this group actually know what they are doing. They have gutted the club from top to bottom since they took over, have employed overpriced incompetent players on ridiculously long contracts, along with average managers and executives who run the club, and are now indicating a 20% increase on next years season tickets. The club have effectively been loaded with £1 billion of debt, and at present are likely to face sanctions regarding this, and all of this is self inflicted. The club is owned by its fans, not speculators who are just passing through to make a quick buck, who have classed us customers not fans. Who are quite in their rights to question this, and to be informed of the owners intentions going forward. We as a club have never been a Crystal Palace, and certainly never wish to become one, so wind your neck in.

Now, the fact Boehly is spending Clearlake's money might put this in a different class of situation.. Fundamentally, both the realisation that fans can be fickle, short-sighted and bad at making decisions about club strategy and the fact that clubs are community institutions that are meaningless without fans can be true at the same time.

      @bradleydube8156
      First of all, "We wouldn't exist without Todd, so your comment is stupid." There were other bidders on the table who wanted us. Who, in my opinion, would have done a better job than these lot. Plus, there are questions surrounding the sale of the club anyway. So it's only stupid to you..
      Secondly, "they spent money
      on buying a club that a few wanted. He
      spent millions not only on the men's but
      womens squad." They have gutted out everyone from groundsman, manager (Thomas Tuchel), sold decent players, didn't fight to keep Emma Hayes, spent money on players who are unproven, appointed 3 managers who were awful, spent the money unwisely, critised the previous ownership who actually won something, now are rising the ticket prices for a club who was 12th last season is set to be 10th this season. So there is spending money and spending money correctly HUGE difference. All they had to do was see Roman's model and build on it, but they didn't.. Quite frankly, spending a billion, any team should be challenging for the league not sitting in 10th....
      Finally, "stop acting spoiled" it is spoilt, so use the correct grammar. It isn't about being spoilt it's called having standards. Which this ownership have none, hence why they have appointed three dud managers.

    It's no surprise that Chelsea fans are fed up of the ownership already, the bloke has made a pig's ear of it... Didn't they win a Champions league recently? Then this guy comes in and gets rid of Tuchel and bloats the squad all while paying over the valuation for some players. Mudryk specifically is a crazy amount of money for what they got with him.
    But i thinks it's way better to take it out on Boehly than the players, get behind players like Sterling (if that is what happened) if you know these problems don't just stem from the players.

      That same squad that won the champions league (3 years ago I might add) came 12th last season. Too many of them past their best. Tuchel was underperforming towards the end, and is now coming second with a Bayern team that won the league 12 years in a row. And has been sacked again. By all accounts, a toxic manager.
      Squad was due an overhaul. Mistakes were made, but there was always going to be teething problems.
      Mudryk was £62m, he might turn out to be worth it. He might not. But he's definitely improving.

      We know things about the Premier league like teams can take time to gel and players who are rated in leagues like the Ukrainian league, may not cut it in Prem. And now you may have trouble moving players on and falling fowl of profit & sustainability rules.

    • @InvaderZim742
      @InvaderZim742 Před měsícem +1

      @@Animalistic9 100% the club was forced to overpay on transfers to get the players they wanted in the time frame they wanted them in.
      It was a matter of spend the extra money or go without the player.
      The contract lengths were a direct result of needing to spread the costs for FFP.
      They could have taken a different approach like Arsenal and spent the same amount of money over 6 years instead of 2. But how long did it take arsenal to get back to that tip top? 6 years without top 4 and champions league football.
      The new owners wanted to fast track the rebuild and avoid that situation.
      Have they made some mistakes along the way? Yes
      Has it worked out as they planned? No. Not yet. But we're not even 2 years in.
      20 years of success has made this fan base inpatient and entitled.
      But Roman was a once in a lifetime owner. What other owners are happy to lose £200m a year to see their club win trophies?
      Maybe the club breach FFP, maybe they don't. It was a calculated risk. If it happens. They take the punishment and move on. Still not the end of the world like some fans would have you think. It's like being a football fan is their entire personality.

    • @Animalistic9
      @Animalistic9 Před měsícem

      @@InvaderZim742 yep, absolutely agree with that again. So I guess what my next question will be is... Does this "fast track rebuild", £1 billion in two seasons to achieve success at a faster rate than Arsenal's, not contradict the statement that "this is a long term project"... Essentially asking for patience from fans when the identifying and expenditure on players has been anything but patient?
      I'm a Palace fan so trust me I know all about patience 🤣
      But I do sympathise with the fans who may be in the disgruntled camp.
      It's said you need to raise a minimum of 100million in profit (I believe a generous estimation)
      With no negotiating power, because everyone now knows your situation and are better placed to negotiate lower fees... Plus Gallagher has one year left and will also be at the Euros.
      So if this all has to go down by the end of June maybe July... It's at best *very squeaky bum time*

    Simon is spot on. What's toxic is a fan base that boos players and managers and make threats against the owners that literally saved the club from ruin after it was forced to sell it because the owner was a corrupt oligarch. I loved Roman. He was an awesome owner. But let's be real, he wasn't necessarily concerned with proper accounting. Those days are gone. The Boehly strategy (as we have seen at the LA Dodgers) is to build a team rather than buy it. Stability and long term vision is the model. The issue is that they don't know football! Given the way in which the club was sold, they had to run it. That was a mistake but not one that I think was avoidable. They discovered during the due diligence that the place was a mess. They had to clear house in order to claim they had nothing to do with the irregularities they had discovered. The mistake was that they listened to the fans and spent a boat load on new players. Making the gamble that in the long run, they will come good. Ideally, they should have waited, but we didn't really have time. The sanctions we had just served had left us with an under-developed squad of academy players while other clubs were bringing in amazing talent from Europe. The "laughing stock" had started before we sold the club. The biggest failure here is for the club to simply improve its communication about what's happening. We need to explain that this year is a write off. We are learning about the players we have, the coach we have and how we intend to compete for titles next year. That said, we've made a final and are playing good football at times. It is getting better and if you can't see the improvement then you don't know football. I don't like where we are at, but it if we are truly Chelsea fans, then we support the club. We aren't owed ANYTHING. What we WANT is improvement and if we don't get it, we are free to transfer our loyalty elsewhere, but to be honest, it is going through these times that should strengthen the fan base, not destroy it.

    I completely agree with Simon. I'm a chelsea fan and I hate the entitled spoilt attitude our fan base has. WE MUST WIN, WE ARE CHELSEA. Hang on, when then does our part to play come in? If we are expected to win every game, what's the point of us supporting from the side? A couple of years ago I was bricking it thinking my club would be extinct. However, by God's grace and boehly/clearlakes money we lived to see another day. So the fact we sit 10th quite frankly doesn't bother me in the slightest. We have been spoilt with trophies over the last 20 years, so much so that the atmosphere at the bridge has quite frankly been terrible. Get over it, we will be fine.

    Simon likes to cite that Chelsea fans should be grateful that Boely & CO saved them from the abyss but the truth is, the UK Government had no right to take the club off of Roman to begin with. There was no due process or courtcase. Chelsea was stolen from Abramovich and sold off to the highest bidder. Whether you like Roman or not, he changed the landscape of football and contributed to making what the Premier League is today and he at least deserved his day in court. Zelensky even said publicly that Abramovich should not be sanctioned.

    Second off no club in the world would be what they are without the fans. If a club goes from winning the champions league and in a few years to mid table jokes, the supporters have every right to be annoyed. If we want to show our frustration by protest thats our right.

    Chelsea fan and attended at SB since 1963. Mixed comments and mixed messages. SJ is right that if we were winning there wouldn’t be so much toxicity. In true we are entitled fans because with Roman we had 20 plus years of success. However, I think or owners need to make more effort to mix with the fans, trust and any Chelsea fc organisations and build the club together. We need to understand the owners have spent 2.5 billion on the club, I billion plus in the players and a future new stadium either at SB or elsewhere. You cannot disagree with the owners commitment with those resources it’s just the results which many fans are complaining. It is laughable comparing to where we came from in the 70’s and 80’s and selling Ray to help survive the purchase of the stand! Those were very grim times.
    We could be far far worse from our history both 70’s and 80’s and recently with gov. sanctions and like these letters and some of our fans we could making the situation worse than we need too when we just need some
    patience and communication with the owners. How bad are we really playing as the only club this season so far advanced in both cups?

    I've been so embarrassed by how our fans have acted under this new ownership, you can tell so many of them have only been here under Roman, and that many others have forgotten no club is entitled to success, sure things aren't going great as of right now, but it has been communicated that this is a long term project, and there is progress albeit not fast, but you have to factor in injuries into that, and the transfers made without a recruitment team.
    I believe in a lot of what they have put in place, hope the fans will grow up sooner rather than later, unfortunately i suspect they will continue crying until we win, they have become accustomed to that getting the coach sacked previously.

You'll see empty seats by people scanning in their tickets and immediately leaving during protests, it is coming.

The Owners have made a real pigs breakfast out of a football club that was able to hold it's high for the last 20 years. These Owners have spent £1bn in dragging the club into the gutter which on reflection seems inconceivable. As Simon said the appointment of Poch was never going to take Chelsea where they were before the Owners came on the scene. The supporters are not customers but an integral part of the club. The business model they appear to be working is incomprehensible and does not consider the culture of English football and nor do they understand what generates success. Like many I have no confidence that the Owners have the capability in getting out of this mess. Simon would benefit from looking a little closer at the on-going crisis which is unfolding into a 1980's type mess. No doubt we will return to problem in the future as it gets worse.

    I love CFC winning trophies under Roman but the only downside of it was the the firing culture. Due to this, we could not have a period like City or Liverpool experiencing over recent years. The long term project seems sensible and will be if they continue with Poch and limit spending barring maybe an elite striker and a central defender to replace Thiago.We should have won the League cup to ensure the place feels calm but we are going in the right direction. Evidence is in the improved performance of most players who are very young comparatively. Poch is not the end game but the transition coach in my opinion. Chelsea fans need to be a bit patient and the good times will come.
