You have past scouts, board members, players, managers all leaving and becoming widely successful. Why is that? Why can they leave Tottenham unsuccessful and then find success at their next job? The fact we are in 2023 and Levy is just NOW CONSIDERING the use of statistical analysis to make data driven decisions at a footballing level is appalling.

As an ex-player, How the manager/coach deals with you is hugely important. Conte went in there thinking his chest-beating, tub-thumping style would spark the players into life...but it didn't. Some players don't react well to a strong hand. I personally preferred to be challenged and cajoled; some like to be praised; others like a scrap to get them fired up. @wolfen210959 Před 11 měsíci +2

Fans are only the most important part of football, in the minds of the fans. Money is the most important part of football, club owners, recruitment teams, managers, players, put money before any other consideration. In the olden days, before the advent of the Premier League, fans were the most important part of football, because all of the money came from fans, that all changed when the Premier League was formed with the billions from Sky, which introduced commercialisation on a massive scale.
The club that finishes bottom of the Premier League will receive at least 10x the money from Sky, than it does from it's fans.
The lower down the football pyramid that you go, the more important the fans become, because the fan income will be vital for the survival of the club, and in most cases will outstrip the income from Sky, via the EFL, below the Championship i mean.

Kept their best players like Son and Kane, best stadium in the league, fiscally responsible, hugely increased revenue, ambitious managerial appointments and backing in the transfer market( spent nearly £200m last summer) what do Spurs fans expect? They are never going to be serial winners as there are several clubs who are either richer (City, Chelsea, Newcastle) or bigger (United, Liverpool, Arsenal)

There are now seven clubs in the mix every year with the emergence of Newcastle and that’s before you throw ambitious clubs like Villa in as a shout. United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, City and Spurs also all believe they should be in the top 4 every year, so Spurs don’t have a divine right. As for the “used to be a big club” they still are one, but in terms of being a successful club they haven’t been for a while. Their last FA cup win was in 1991 and last league title in the early 60s. Point I’m making is that people are talking like Levy has ruined Spurs and presided over a significant demise, when in reality he has moved the club forward on and off the pitch even if things haven’t been great recently.

Come on Simon, Levy is to blame. He's been in charge for 22 years and counting, appointing and then sacking all the managers you're trying to blame, with no plan and no clue. How can it be the manager's fault, when we've had a total of 17 in the past 23 years?! Yes, the players aren't up to scratch, but who's chosen most of the current squad, and why do we have around £200m-worth of players out on loan that no one wants? It's because of Levy, who always thinks he knows best, and ignores good advice he doesn't like (e.g. don't hire Paratici). By all means sack Mourinho just before a cup final, with no plan, leading to 72 days' search for a replacement, hiring poor old Nuno at the end of it, as 7th choice. Well done Daniel! Starve Poch of a rebuild and sack him instead of backing him? Marvellous! And of course don't even think of bringing him back when you have the chance, either, that would be far too sensible. Conte wasn't the right fit for Spurs, a 'win now' manager who is used to having a decent squad to work with from the get-go. Bad choice Daniel, a pathetic attempt to buy yourself out of trouble with the fans, aided and abetted by that crook Paratici. All the managers had their faults and made mistakes, they're only human, but none of them caused this situation. Now we're back in pre-Nuno mode, 60 days and counting since Conte sacked himself, working our way through a list of managers who won't come to us because of Levy. Who else is to blame for that, Simon? And now the toxic teletubby has run out of road. A supporter for 60 years, I really can't see where we go from here. Poch, on the other hand, knows exactly where he's going and good for him.

Instead of buying one or two marquee signings every season to improve the first team, levy buys multiple average players who barely improve the squad. He has never and will never pay the big money for rueben Diaz and instead will give Jose joe rodon, or pay sporting Lisbon’s asking price for Bruno and instead go for the cheaper option of lo celso. Liverpool weren’t flying when they paid Southampton’s asking price for vvd and within a few seasons they’ve won the lot. People wil say we can’t shop in the same market as the other big six teams but maybe because we have neglected our squad for the past 8 seasons and our scouting team are possibly the worst in the prem

Who sacks them? Why sack Poch? Jose?(!), Conte*. Conte is a winner. Why he doesn't work is when he isn't given what he wants. His words were the most poignant of all. Some managers know how to deal with superstars and not B teams. When faced with mediocrity some like Conte hit the wall and can go no further. Conte would have done wonders at United the past summer. He got to buy $250M in players. That whole team save Son and Kane should be wiped off. Start that by selling Kane immediately. Close it for $100M and GET GOING. Oh what's this? You have no manager to provide a vision and identity? After the Glazers, Levy will get the 'worst owner' accolade.

We have two consistent players in our ranks Kane and Bentancur, the rest can all leave and yes that includes Sonny.........Please don't get me started on "the wall" Hojberg who gets done by every single team we play against and is technically abysmal. I think there are certain questions that need to be asked
1: Do Spurs spend enough money?
A: Yes, they have spent plenty. Problem has been recruitment.
2: Will a new owner solve the problems?
A: Potentially but it wouldn't be a quick fix. If a new owner comes in it will more than likely take many years of good decisions before you realistically compete for trophies regularly.
3: How much blame needs to be put on players?
A: Huge amount of blame. These are good players no doubt but the performances have been abysmal. Attitude has been a massive problem.
4: Are the fans expectations unrealustic?
A: 100% yes and I blame the media for that. They have lied to you by classing you as part of the "Big 6". You haven't won enough trophies in your recent history (Last 20 Years) to be in the same category as City, Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
5: Can you compete with the big teams in the transfer market?
A: Not properly no. If elite players have a choice between Spurs and Utd for example they will choise Utd everytime as they have a much higher profile than spurs do.
