This interview reminded me of the school meeting I had to attend with my dad when I was 13, and I sounded a lot like Cobes in this video. Just the occasional one-liner and pouty expression.

As a fellow regard with some family issues, it is also pretty hard to have a conversation like this when you have so many unexpressed feelings. Like Josh seems pretty aware his Dad has clocked out of his care a bit and that he's mostly a burden to his family, and that is super fucking hard to deal with. When you also have ODD and all manner of other shit going on, yeah its no surprise he's in the place he's in, even without the weird youtube parasocial shit.

I understand Josh is difficult but it sounds more like Clint was more focused on his career and working with other kids to understand how to deal with his own. The thing about that though is Josh isn't those kids. He is not something that comes off an assembly line. Working with other people's kids isn't going to necessarily show you how to work with or raise your own. I feel like a lot of this is Clint defending himself and Josh not getting a chance to speak about any of these matters for himself. I get it's a Clint interview but why have him there then, and why choose to be interviewed by a guy who called your son stupid and that your son was personally upset with. My take from this is that Clint wants to exonerate himself and not be seen as a bad father. He does enable him and he has given up on him. He did long ago. Long live Cobes. 🙏👑

Clint doesn't like being undermined/contradicted when he's trying to pass the blame buck onto literally everyone else but himself and his son
Blaming Josh’s trolls for his alcoholism is far more damaging than I think Clint realizes. It basically gives Josh a scapegoat and excuse to never take responsibility or have to go to AA. “I don’t have a problem because If my trolls stopped harassing me, I wouldn’t drink!!” Which is very far from the truth.
One of the biggest things we learn in AA is to stop blaming everyone else for why we drink. It doesn’t matter WHY, Clint.
Like I'm an opiate addict and I have nobody to blame but myself. I can't blame Perdue or my friends mom who would give me pills or anyone else. I don't use them for any reason other than I choose to. He can't accept that because it would be admitting he failed as a father.

"This was done TO me" bs... Wasn't helping me at all & I wasn't able to finally get clean until I was finally sick & tired of the constant hustle. It's like working an extra job just finding money and waiting on connects

Being a recovering addict myself, I was saying this out loud through most of this interview!! Blaming the trolls and shifting accountability for his addiction issues is only enabling him to continue doing it.. He needs to realize his brain is wired differently and he needs therapy and probably regular medication to keep him off the more harmful things he does to help his stress..

He would absolutely qualify with SSDI and an intellectual disability. I am not a glass tapper, but if I could say one thing to Clint it would be to get Josh into a direct support/ community support program.

It was nice to see and get this perspective from Clint but I got a few things from it. Firstly, Clint has had this conversation NUMEROUS times in his life with Jords teachers and therapists etc. Another was that he had an excuse for every behavior Jorb had. “He drinks because he has trauma” and it’s kind of frustrating to see.
