@@zekeolopwi6642 i remember my issue - when i learned how to play, i could fight 5+ bandits, than i stopped playing and got back to the game half year later - and i was dying from 2 bandits again :) it is a player skill + character skill and that's why i liked it so much
For me the combat system was great in the original game. You had to learn together with Henry to be good and Henry is a peasant, so its realistic that other people are better. However I agree, that is not for everyone and hope that it will be easier for some lower difficulty setting, so that the game is accessible for more people.
i´m really sorry but the combat in the first game was awesome. the reason a lot of people didnt´t like it is that most people can´t be bothered to actually learn how to fight and forget that henry was just some peasant boy who never in his live swung a sword.
KCD's combat may be a clunky mess, atleast with keyboard and mouse, but I still vastly prefer it over the plastic feel of skyrim or the like. If they've refined it, I expect to only enjoy it more and I'm stoked it's not being completely revamped. Also, I completely disagree with you that "riposte fishing" is the only viable alternative against endgame knights. I do find it ridiculous that bandits scale in ability and can riposte and flourish like trained elite, but a lot of the time you can overcome situations with spacing, good timing of counters, or just placing your strikes well regardless of if you use the combos or not(though if you don't you're asking to get beat imo) As a backer of the original kickstarter I may be biased here but I don't understand how you can look at a game like KCD and just think you're signing up for bashing skulls more or less. The alchemy is optional, and while some quests involve it you are never forced to engage with it if you so wish. This isn't an action RPG. This is an RPG. It carries a heavy load of alternative activities besides just grinding stats, loot, and killing, and that is a core part of what makes it so good.
@@RiverRockXIII Hard disagree on that one. The automatic lock-on is far too strong, the way you can get chain interrupted if you try to run from armoured guys while wearing light/no armour is silly, the peasants having scaled abilities (riposte etc) is silly. But yes beyond those gripes I agree that it is among the best melee combat systems in any rpg
The combat system was fantastic in the first game? It was based in real medieval scriptures of technique and it was most definitely skill based. Just defending never ever won me a single fight.
The combat was about as realistic as it gets. You need to keep from getting surrounded and learn the attacks. It's not for people without much of an attention span. You have to get good at it. This is no button masher.
Why would you be sad about the same combat? It made the game so unique. I personally want them to just refine what they had before instead of reinventing the wheel. If they made it easy it would kill my hype
it was bland and as I explained in the last 2 mins of the video was not realistic and was a chance based playstyle in a single player RPG killed my experience and playthrough
I absolutely love KCD, but I have to agree on the Combat (for the most part) The advantage of playing defensive is definitely real, but I still thought it was pretty fun. But fighting many enemies at once was the only part I actually disliked about the game
The combat system in theory is great, in practice it just doesn't quite work fluidly and it ends up being clunky and frustrating against multiple opponents. Not because of a skill issue per se, but a lack of control over your own character. The lock on system hinders you from engaging with multiple opponents and the animations make you get stuck and not able to have any control during them, especially when the camera locks your vision away from your opponents if you do get hit, which results in being stun locked because you can't even see the next attack coming anymore. Even worse with the visor vision but that is actually realistic. But I get so annoyed when people refuse to admit the combat has its flaws and then they call that "realistic" when it's not realistic to have no control over your own body. Unless you're role-playing as a guy with parkinson and convulsions. Don't get me wrong, I like the game a lot but games like mordhau did combat better, especially mordhau. Even though the animations are less realistic, it requires a lot more skill and still has freedom of movement (and more attack directions) which KCD all lacks in comparison, KCD combat is not hard at all when it actually functions like in 1v1s. I can't really take on 2 AI opponents in KCD but I can take on 2 actual players in mordhau because I actually have control over my character movement, I can switch targets with a fluid drag of my mouse instead of having it sticking to the wrong opponent, and I can keep moving while attacking or parrying. That makes combat so much more immersive than being locked to your opponents Sorry for my ramble, I just had to put it out there lol.
Agreed mordhous combat locked in First person is far superior and allows for better control and in my opinion better to show skill over hunting for an animation to get the upperhand
Combat system was my favourite part of the game
Yehhhhhh it's very much a get good kinda thing. I hated it at first too but now I can charge head first into a group of 5 with no problem.

I love the combat style from last one!
the combat system was great. You had to use faints and combos. It was hard to go on attack but so rewarding.

@@LunkulesNah it wasn‘t chance based. Seems like you didn‘t learn it properly
@@Lunkules wasnt chance based, but it was definiteply demanding on the player and not only based on character stats/lvl
@@RogueEva So skills and level increased the probability in riposte fishing... hmmm almost sounds like chance
The orchestra is so epic
Agreed
