Really wish the devs would change how the team reloading for the Auto Cannon and recoilless rifle. Like instead of the teammate having to wear the backpack to reload you. Why can't they just reach into the backpack while it's on you and reload you?
Yeah, this is clearly the best option if you want to encourage teamplay with randoms. I have no clue how they did not go this way.

I think what they are saying here is that the shrapnel did negligible damage compared to the overall damage output of the weapon, not that the shrapnel damage is negligible. the shrapnel can still be enough for an instant kill, but mean very little compared to the overall damage of the weapon
I mean, Helldivers are very fragile and any headshot is a 1 shot on them.. the terminus’s can tank multiple meadshots, lose their head, be hit by a 500k and still live
A helldivers health is different than bugs by a huge margin, if Dog before nerf could kill you almost immediately but couldn't kill anything bigger than a new york rat, than shrapnel that is according to them was a negligible part in its overall dmg wouldn't be shocking since the guns that deal over 100 dmg kill you or leave you at half in a second compared to a bug or bot
Edit: just tested health with the punisher plasma to see health values.
Note worthy I used all armor types light, medium and heavy for helldivers, and I excluded heavies and elites obviously.
here's what I got.
Helldiver: (light/medium) 2 aoe hits. First shot over half so guessing 1 if direct hit
(Heavy) 3 aoe so 2 directly.
Small bug/hunters: 1 shot 2 if aoe, less than/equal to a helldiver health.
Medium size bugs: 2 hits, 3 aoe
Hive guards/bile spewers: 3 hits, 4 aoe
Brood commander: 4 hits 5 aoe
Tldr: our health is equal to a hunter, so if it can kill a hunter in 1 hit directly, expect a helldivers to die the same amount of hits
The first statement concerns the the damage it does to the target. Shrapnel doesn't hit the target.
Well, the bugs have loads of HP. Seen how long they burn for? Even with host damage, they still burn for a couple of seconds. With how much damage fire does to US, even the smallest bugs seem to have twice the HP of us.
For a group of people who claim to have been in the military they really don't know how ricochet or weapons in general for that matter work the chances of ricochet coming right back at you rather than going at an angle away from you is minimal but hey whatever it's their game let them ruin it however they want
Dumping the Eruptor’s shrapnel takes away a critical component of its unique damage profile by giving players a random chance to deal damage to additional enemies beyond the AoE.
Actually, on that topic: why make that change to ricochets and shrapnel in the first place? I don’t know a single person who’s been honestly in favor of that change.
There’s only so much “git gud” and “skill issue” the community can take before their target audience, primarily casual players, starts playing something else.
seriously, claiming the sharpnel is a negligible amount of damage is so out of touch. it is the main damage ves larger enemies and what enables you to oneshot broodcommanders hiveguards stalkers bile spewers and more. if they take away the shrapnel the now nerfed AoE will only exist as a token to enable the wepaon to take out spawners. everything unique has been stripped from my facorite wepaon and theyre turning it into a larger dominator. such a shit change if they go through with it.
Also saying that the shrapnel deals enough damage to instakill you, but also it deals a negligable amount of damage is just goofy as hell.

No one seems to be talking about the bug spawn rate changes for solo players. I can only commit to a couple of hours of full squad based play 1 or 2 times a week. The rest of the week I only have 30min or less which I used to use to have a bit of a solo chill session. But the new spawn rates makes this ridiculous and absolutely no fun at all. I actually don't want to play anymore 😢 and that makes me really sad 💛🖤
I mean unfortunately the game is built around a four man team. If you have enough time for a campaign you have the ability to hit quick play. If I can do it on Helldive with my limited gaming time so can you.

I have killed more helldivers than bugs and bots with my airburst missles. Still funny when it happens 💛🖤
it's not funny when you just spent the last 40 minutes completing a mission on Helldive difficulty and you have 27 common, 18 rare, and six super rare samples, and then a player decides to use the airburst during extraction and kills all four players, and then nobody is able to extract.

If you still manage to kill your teammates with the airburst RPG after patch, you're not using it right.

Arrowhead really need advice from a proper weapons and ordinance specialist. There has been a lot of testing done IRL, and projectiles almost never come back at the shooter. On top of that most of the energy and mass of a bullet are lost when it bounces off of a surface. The sharper the return angle the less energy they retain.

HD1 veteran here. For those that may not be aware, Warlords will probably be an evolution of a HD1 unit of the same name, just like the IFV/Tanks, Hulks, Legionnaires/Heavy Devastators, Berserkers, etc. I for one am worried they'll bring back the hounds in some form cause I *hated* those guys. 💛🖤
Yea idk. I think shrapnel was a pivital point to killing chargers. Five fragments getting in the crease of its leg almost killed it everytime.
Been thinking of some secondary pistol ideas for what they could bring and I was talking to my one buddy and we came up with the stratagem pistol! Much like the grenade pistol where it’s one bullet in the clip but wouldn’t have any ammo in it. You would use it to get those stratagems that much further into a nest or stealth it out and relocate, you’d punch in your stratagem the one you want and then load it into the pistol and can fire it much longer than you can throw was thinking you could shoot it up to 100 meters! Would also take out the fact you wouldn’t have a secondary to shoot anything but you get that extra stratagem distance so you don’t have to get in as close! Think it could really fit into helldivers 2 and don’t think it’d be broken cause you’d be down a weapon
Thought about this a long time ago, happy to know im not the only one who think its a cool concept

@@jakebrake3000 It definitely is. I wish it was on cooler armor though. Lol. Or I wish you could like change passive traits per armor, although that kind of negates the idea of armor classifications.
Servo assisted armour is nice but it’s only going in an extra 15 meters your better off taking an armour that gives a better buff and just run in a bit closer imo! With something like a stratagem pistol you could do some pretty sweet builds with it and change it up the game lots with not changing the game too much either

Four of us playing Suicide with 7 crashes and having to reload game and return to the session.. never happened before pre patch. Flame damage from Hulks remains exactly the same pre patch no difference whatsoever so that's BS. The devs need to sort out stimming it's atrocious. The animation to stim takes waaay to long near death whilst taking a beating. And pleeeeease lose the stop start run animation it's so frustrating! Can't we not just run (obviously still expect to have stamina reduced) but it really hinders progress when traversing and or attempting to evade enemies especially against automatons 🤬🤬🤬🤬
@4:52 dude was probably blasting Through The Fire And Flames by Dragonforce. I immediately quit after my first game since the patch dropped, the nerfs pissed me off that badly, but then I played the next day, I noticed that rocking the eruptor with quasar before the patch was smooth sailing even on difficulty 7, now I just have to be a bit more careful with my shots. 💛🖤

The fire damage reduction is working, at least for me. It gets me nearly killed and i have to stim, very deadly but its not the instadeath it was

The patrol increases make it absolutely terrible to play solo. I enjoy playing solo. I hear their reason as to why they upscaled the patrols - but that was something NOBODY was complaining about. Also, having more patrols makes sense when you have 4 players with 4 stratagems... however, some of these missions i only have 3 stratagems to deal with non-stop patrols and breeches/drops.
I wish you all the best, but i dont enjoy playing the game solo like this. At all.

Reading this made me sad. I never play solo but I can understand that others enjoy it more than playing with randoms. I didn't have much against this patch but after seeing how solo players gets fucked by the patrol thing, it really feels like it was an unnecessary thing to add. I hope for the sake of solo divers that they remove or alter it somehow.
@-Arv thank you, so much for your comment. I expect to get roasted with the "get gud" comments, but I'm a 43 year old Dad. When I was young, I was in a CS clan that made money (back in the day so it wasn't much) so it's not like I'm some complete noob, or someone who doesn't understand how this can be seen as a "skill issue."
However, I've beat Elden Ring multiple times, and I honestly found it easier (except Melania...) than playing a level 7-9 mission - pre patch. Now it's just crazy and not fun.
I love this game so much and I hope they change it back, but if they don't, I won't complain because I got so much fun out of it while it lasted.

The ENTIRE ricochet change HAS to be a deliberate troll-move or the devs are just out of their minds.
we take enough chip-damage as is, having wayward shots bounce back and waste us (or at leas a limited-stim-use) is thoroughly idiotic and about as unfun as a game system can get other than providing a single enemy type with the ability to kill you in under a second with auto-tracking/AoE/zero-warning attacks.
At this point I think the Devs are just petty and hate it when players do things they didn't intend. I had a lot of praise for the Devs when the game released but the constant bad patches and Devs being dishonest has spoiled that feeling real quick.
shrapnel, on one weapon (Eruptor)... not ricochet, those are different mechanics
and its getting fixed next time.
The question should be how they did not notice it, how the shrapnel change didn't make it into the patchnotes, how the Dev who did it didn't notice while playtesting his own changes and how this made it past internal QA. It should not have been put on the live server like this.
It is a small issue that will get fixed quickly but ideally it should be fixed before it hits the live server.
They are clearly not testing their changes in-game properly.
And when you F around with 22 weapons at once, something is bound to go way wrong that pisses everyone off.
If Arrowhead was really working hard and was paying attention to what was going on in their game then they wouldn't have done patch after patch that steadily degraded the game and population. They either don't have a clue or just don't care as to why people have left the game and not going to return.
You can see it in steam player counts. Used to be consistently 200k+ during hours where people worked mid weekday but even during weekends or after work it's not breaking 90k now.

Warlord was the name of a cyborg enemy in the first game. It was essentially a fully armored hulk with an autocannon

Wait, does "Shrapnel" mean the AoE effect of the Eruptor? If so, that's a huge nerf for me. I like providing sniper cover with it from a vantage point. It lets me both prioritize both heavies and cannon fodder waves sneaking up on my teammates. I don't want to have to pick single targets with how little the ammo count is. I don't need a weaker bolt action Anti-material rifle.
Tbh I just wish the devs would tell us how armor works, like in full details no hiding anything

have not even made it past 2:42... Yes. removing the shrapnel, infact does affect the way the eruptor functions. it no logger has an AOE. . . that's a big difference.
I am not on side of emotions here, simple math. From past update to present there is one tendency persists:
Devs hate casual players. On any difficulty. They are pushing game more and more from "fun coop shooter" side to "tacticool milsim alien horde espionage operations".
I absolutely loved this game in march and was ok with ton of bugs and crashes. But making enemies stronger and weapons not fun, but "useable" is a bad tactics even financially for their company.
Maybe there is really some fanatical dev who just wants to have 2-5k players online like it was in their first game and he won't stop even if logic will be on his way.

Mid day during weekdays were above 200k in March, now even after work hours or weekends aren't breaking 90k.

I tested it they didn't fix the infinite grenade glitch but instead of counting down it just gives you 4 billion grenades
Yeah “warlords” only heavy armaments can kill them, lasers take a freakin long time, auto cannon in HD2 might not penetrate the warlord not like the “dumdum” in HD1, quasar might deal damage but I doubt it will take less than 3 shots to kill it even with a headshot, air strikes might kill it quickly but that’s hoping, we need better gear the “rumbler” against the automatons, anyone wondering about what is an “warlord” then check HD1 gameplays of cyborgs
Hulks movement speed needs to be slowed, and hunters jumping needs to be nerfed.

I actually just made a video about the plasma rifle, not only is the backpack shield bugged, but the shield generator does it as well.
I hope the devs understand that the hulk is doing head shot damage with its flamethrower, and that's why he's one shot killing people.
That's not how fire works. It doesn't even have a critical damage value dude. It was just the buffs to fire damage comparable to our health.

I know it sounds stupid, and that's why they need to change it. And if you don't believe me, look carefully at footage of people getting killed instantly by the flames. Look closely at where they are getting hit.

I don't know how I feel about a public test server. I already work for a software company 9 to 5. I don't work for free. They seem to just change stuff at a whim and do no testing and that's a problem on their end. There is no reason someone sitting down for an evening wouldn't have noticed that you can't use the shield and punisher plasma at the same time. This sort of thing happens with every patch. They messed with ricochets and clearly did no testing. They messed with Hulk flamethrowers and clearly did no testing.
I'm not picking up their fumbles just for the sake of doing it.
It happens because none of the devs actually play their own game in any meaningful way. They are so out of touch that they only look at statistics and don't bother actually understanding what those statistics mean
Arrowhead is kinda trash and we are figuring it out quick.....they don't even test or play their own game and its BLTANTLY OBVIOUS.
Automaton Warlord idea: Imagine a bot that could coordinate all the other bots. Suddenly all the bots in an area are focusing fire on one single Helldiver, or every single one of them throws a grenade at the same time. Maybe it can call down its own strategems, and before you go to take it down you want to take out its emplacements to reduce its capabilities.
First time watcher but very much enjoy the down to the point content. 💛🖤
The problem with 'reduced hulk fire damage' is they did infinite damage to you (or so it seemed; it was way, way more than anyone had to instakill you at least). So reducing that amount by 20% is like saying 'there's no 20% less sand in the Sahara!' or 'the void of space will freeze you 20% slower!' When it's THAT MUCH damage, trying to gently tweak it is pointless. They need to run precise tests, while adjusting it each time, so that you only get set on fire, THEN take normal fire damage, not get instantly killed by the flames.

My issue with the erupter and it's become more of an issue after this patch is when you ADS looking through the scope and your quickscoping you'll point of view gets pushed up into the atmosphere and you're basically stuck there or you get like stuck in the super third person where you're looking down your barrel. And you pretty much have to kill yourself sometimes if you're in the weird first person mode you can pop out of it but not always. I keep getting thrown to the atmosphere and solely only while using the erupter I have this issue while ADSing. Also the random explosion feedback that's killed me a few times
What about a test planet that has bits and bugs on it that we only have access to when something needs testing before going live?

It appeared as if in the videos that were shown that maybe the fire is hitting the head, maybe that is the issue? The head crit issue and not a fire issue? Just a thought based on what i saw in this video.

Fire, shrapnel and ricochet are all things that potentially could be leathal, to an UN-ARMORED target. A full body environmentally sealed body armor would offer a high level of protection from all of these.
It looks like the automaton warlord will have more armor than previous bots judging by its chassis and armor plating that it has💛💛

Only fairly recently got good, reliable internet. i live in a very rural area, and my net used to be extremely unreliable, so games i could play solo were a big deal for me, because solo it wasn't as much of an issue. I think people forget that not everyone has the best internet access out there

I wish new major order mission types would be added to the regular pool once the story specific stuff ends. The new Mutated TCS is 100% the coolest level design we've seen in the game so far (albeit the mission is very short but hey ho), Would be cool if it would rarely pop up in normal campaigns after the major order.

Adjudicator still is bad imo tbh the liberator penetrator will not be good no matter what they do until it had over 100 dmg per shot it just doesn’t compete even the adjudicator has 80 and it’s still 3 shots for the baby bugs and it’s even worse against brood commanders nearly half a clip to remove the head the medium armor penetration isn’t even worth it at only 80 dmg I wish they would see that

The patrol spawns and ricochet updates are the only things I have issue with in this patch. Everything else is ok. The quasar cooldown increase is weird, but whatever.
Theres a weird glitch when the people disappear in the over at the computer area

What they REALLY need to fix is the cross platform friend request bug. I can play with other friends on separate platforms because we can't accept each other's friend requests
They are too busy doing nerfs that no one asked for....they don't have time to fix actual problems with the game that people actually have issues with and actually want fixed.....
