If they can let the people in the unsupported regions play without a PSN account, then they can do it for everyone.

Well, it seems manure just truly hit the air circulation device. Steam just delisted those countries where PSN is unavailable. Some players from those countries are unable to play the game already. Fuck sony.

they need to reverse the mandatory requirement and instead incentivize linking accounts like lots of games do. warframe for instance incentivizes players to link their twitch and amazonplay accounts by offering a unique weapon or a free warframe. it's not required and doesnt affect players who dont link accounts. but for those who do get unique items and free warframes. guess what? a lot of players freely choose to link those accounts. they can also disable crossplay for pc players who dont link accounts. the "safety and security" line is complete bullshit and just a cover.

This was started by Arrowhead, their CM's said it directly before she deleted tweets and account went back, but there are screen grabs of her stating that "This is entirely our doing because we wanted to be able to ban people". Also, that is why other AH cm's were so arrogant toward players at 1st, they THOUGHT they had full support. But now AH is in full spin mode trying to play victim.

It’s Sony’s decision, and they probably forced AH to make it mandatory through legal contracts and shit. And if that’s the case AH can’t do anything no matter what, even if they go against it they can become bankrupt and eventually replaced by some shitty studio to continue “making” Helldivers “content”.
Also to Sony, they don’t care about gamers or customers anymore, money isn’t currency to them, Data is. One persons data today is the equivalent of 100 paying customers. They’ll make profit regardless of what happens because some people will just make the account without knowing the details, and to them, that’s more than enough.
I imagine the conversation between Sony and AH was something like this,
AH: what about all the players that legally can’t make a PSN account, they can’t play anymore if it’s required.
Sony: Figure it out, that’s your problem now. *leaves*
So not only did Sony dump this on AH but now we as a community are making their lives absolute hell, all the while Sony just sits back and watches the fire burn

Sadly, it seems SOYNY has simply doubled down and just started removing the extra countries from being able to acquire the game on steam.
Once you lose trust, you can't expect people to re-purchase a product.
Turning a blind's eye to someone abusing something you love is a sure way to lose that thing that you love.

Arrowhead are the ones that started this and now they are playing the victim. Make no mistake, Arrowhead CM said it was entirely their decision because they wanted bans
It could also have just been the CM pulling anything out of her arse to justify the situations, not defending but I don't think they expected HD2 to be this big. AH probably had a role in this whether through compliance or initation.
So once CM says thar Arrowhead wanted this to help them ban players, then went private, another cm antogonized the community (apologized but still). They need to fire all thier CMs other than Twinbeard and fix this SNP issue or the game is dead.

I think they acted that way because they thought either this wouldn't be a big deal or that this was something they initiated to improve their business relationship/leverage with Sony.

I'm not sure if people noticed but the devs seem to take off weekends at Arrowhead.
It seems to be why we get "longer" major orders over the week end. Because they are setting up for them to not be in the office on the weekend. We probably won't hear anything till Monday at the earliest.
I think people need to chill some. More so because it is clearly a Sony decision.

What is causing the flashing of purple and green in your videos? It's like you are trying to capture HDR content on a device that doesn't support it or something. It appears that this is something you aren't seeing in the game itself, which is what makes me think it is your capture device.
He used to play on PlayStation using a capture card, probably a capture card issue but I’m not sure tbh

I don't think many people support Spitz, or at this point like Spitz. Spitz initial responses to the community were totally BS and completely unprofessional. The "support" is simply people wanting to make sure that post was seen. Most of us are only in part pissed off that people not in areas with PSN support could get shafted. We are far more pissed off that they are trying to force us to give them our data, which we know they are shit at handling. Also far more pissed off that a PC game is requiring(not making optional)a link to a console network. Lastly, far more pissed off that they are handling this in a way that is a big "F you" to the pc community. By the way, if they are able to allow those outside of PSN supported areas to not link a PSN account, they are certainly able to do it for anybody, this is simply a play at getting more PSN accounts so they can sit in a board room and say "LOOK HOW SUCCESSFUL WE ARE" so more investors will give this POS company known as Sony more money.

The game was literally playable for 3 months without having to have a PSN account. There's no reason to have it if the game works without it.
I mean, it’s pretty clear that this whole thing wasn’t Arrowhead’s idea to begin with. Why would they want to limit their playerbase to those who own an account for the game’s publisher when this is their first big game?
I'm reading lots of comments saying initially, before the controversy started, one of Arrowhead's CMs stated it was indeed Arrowhead's doing because Arrowhead wanted the ability to ban players. That post has since been deleted but I'm looking for a screenshot.
Here's hoping all the other gamers on other games starts to backlash this also. We need to stand united against this in all fronts.

Keep submitting refund requests. The first one is always subject to the automated system, steam elevates it to actual human intervention if you submit multiple times. Seems to be working for most people who bought on steam

I managed to get a refund after 80+ hours in the game. I put in the reason the EULA terms and conditions and geo locking with false advertising of Sony. Mine got approved

This would also most likely be the reason they couldn;t get any further details fromt eh devs or higher ups, what they stated is not possible. Too be fair, this week is probably the week to do the level grind. Doing the major order on helldive can net you up to 1300xp for the TCS (which you can legit finish in like 3 minutes). On top of that, you typically have a search and destroy or eradicate. Even at over LVL 100, still managing to do several levels a night with this method. Highly recommend. I legit only realised it a couple of days ago, otherwise I'd have farmed this all week 😅
People call Spitz toxic while continuing to chew on him after the guy apologized and is trying to redeem himself is pure irony.

Sony is doing what ARROWHEAD WANTED. It was Arrowhead that started this. There are screen grabs of CM's stating this was entirely because they wanted control of banning players. This was from Misti. Since then her tweets are deleted and account closed. But it showed that Arrowhead STARTED THIS. That also explains why originally other Arrowhead CM's were so arrogant and condescending to player base. Spitz is full of crap, he KNOWS that this issue was started by Arrowhead. I am sure Sony is scummy AF, but in this, it was Arrowhead that started all this because they wanted to be able to ban people, Arrowhead community manager Misti said that directly and it was screen grabbed before taken down. So not only has Arrowhead done this to us but are not even taking responsibility for it and blaming it on Sony because they are still trying to get it passed. They are hoping, maybe, that if player base thinks it is just Sony the players might stick around. Make no mistake about it, Arrowhead ARE THE BAD GUYS IN THIS.

TRUST is a fragile thing, once lost or broken it takes delicacy and honest efforts made over a span of time to recover.
i.e. my -ve steam-review isn't changing until 1-2 months time and we KNOW more of that's going on.
Just because someone was fought off after bending you over a barrel and reaching for your skivvies it's a LONG way off from ANY form of apology, reconciliation or restitution. That's presuming this is even a stoppable situation, SOnY look to be on a platform/publisher wide rampage over ALL their games launched on PC to have this idiotic requirement.
I'm guessing that as usual the company is in some financial trouble and needs a boost to show the shareholders, they are not exactly the most financially stable of companies considering how diversified their interests are.
