THINGS NO ONE Tells YOU about FALL FISHING!!! (CHEATING ~ Lake Lanier Bass Techniques)

  • In this fishing video we discuss the things no one tells you about fall fishing and what I consider my cheating rig - a micro swimbait + jig rig. Fall fishing patterns and techniques all revolve around bait - whether it's shad or herring and finding that bait on the lake you're fishing and having a range of fishing lures that mimic the forage are key to catching fish. I teach you about the finesse swimbait rig I love for fall - blade baits, jigs, topwater lures, ned rigs, spinerbaits, chatterbaits, and even a worm rig that works on any spotted bass like lake like Lanier.

Dude, your ability to catch quality is insane. Through the years of fishing with some great anglers ive learned some fisherman have almost a 6th sense. An ability that cant be taught or learned. Same holds true for hunting. You got it bro. I really appreciate the breakdown of how you find and target them. No doubt one of the best fishermen on CZcams. Keep up the great content.

appreciate the nice words man but honestly i don't have any 6th sense, i've met some anglers that do. i'm not as good as a lot of these guys so what i try to do is hedge what i know, be more efficient and more prepared and most importantly work harder to make up for the deficit. doesn't always come together but when it does it's an awesome feeling! thanks for watching and supporting the vids my man and keep the lines tight!

Anyway, the shakeyhead swimbait and underspin is some of my faves but i recently got to try out the STEELSHAD for these conditions at smith and think its guna help me thru the cold season. Seems to be a little more fish freindly than jiggin the war eagle that ends up in their throat. Great show as always

Dude you are awesome for showing that scale and process as an alternative to weigh ins. I'd really like to see the whole live well / weigh in thing abolished. In this day, with all the tech gadgetry, it can be done. People just need to get over the freakin ego thing. It is so destructive.

Mikeybalzz, I struggle with October fishing. The bass seem unreachable, or not too interested in biting what I'm casting, so I'll try your techniques and see how it goes.
Bob seems cool, but I really miss Swimsuit girl. Due to the fall weather I guess she will be hibernating for a couple months. Mikey, I have nothing against fishing derbies or Pro fishing but the amount of nice fish they kill is just wrong. I like this new scale / photo thing your trying out because if they dont find a new way to display these bass, there wont be any left. The fishing at Table Rock had declined in the 9 years I have lived down here ,and every week there are more and more tournaments. Thanks for realizing things have go to change. Keep up the good vids.

Great video man! One thing about fall fishing in the Midwest is how fast conditions change here. Two weeks ago it was sunny and 80s. Now its 40s, cloudy, and rainy. You literally can't plan on typical fall baits because in 48 hours your crankbait and swimbait bite will die completely and now they want slow plastics.
I'd love to come out to Lake Lanier sometime!

One bait thats crazy good with the small shad im gonna recommend: a yo-zuri 3dr vibe 60(s) in real gizzard shad. Its a small lipless crank but it weighs 1/2oz. Its got the hologram inside that looks almost exactly like a little shad and flashes like one. But there are other ones that work just as good too, thats my favorite. But the smaller 6th sense ones, any lipless that mimics a small shad but weighs enough to throw on a caster so you can rip it off any grass thats left late season.

Love your dog!!!! He is such a good fishing partner. My dog constantly barks and bites at the water. When I throw a lure he thinks we are playing fetch. Imagine a Great Pyrenees on a 3 foot wide jon boat with a deck. It's amazing I never fell in. Needless to say he can't go fishing anymore, cuz there is no real fishing done with him on board.

ahhahahah that's too bad your dog can't go, it's fun having a fuzzball out there. bog doesn't complain and he gets about as excited as me about catching a few!

Awesome I’m from GA but stationed at Fort Campbell and have been to Lanier but never fished it because I don’t have a boat and I don’t know if I would drop in with my kayak. What do you think? Full send?
