Full Power Hercules is basically a Thor with no weather powers and no enchanted hammer. For all purposes he is a high tier metahuman that can go toe to toe with anybody up to Herald level. What I never understood WHY marvel kept Ares as a living punching bell with mere class 70 strength and no form of energy manipulation, nor flight or teleportation or magic.
I dunno It just never seemed like ares felt like a proper super hero OR villain. Not morality wise but rouge wise I guess? Not in the way DC ares is wonder womans rouge. The hero he seems to fight consistently with most is with herculues and even then its not a common occurrence. I don’t think writers have felt compelled to give the character new abilities to spice things up like they do other occurring ones cause of a lack of frequency? thats my best guess.

I really don't understand the concept of superheroes going toe to toe with actual mythological heroes and creatures and having the former lose to the latter, isn't the idea that Superheroes like Superman or Sentry supposed to surpass the gods/monsters of old as the new myths.
