“Splinter your opponent's chances”. I see what you did there.
Caught me!
Hello! Thanks for making these videos. Sometimes its really hard to understand what to draft if you have less limited experience
Thank YOU for watching them!
New players have limited experience. Old players also have limited experience. 😄
@@GoodMorningMagic I know this isn't really your job, but you guys should try to put those draft archetype ad cards into the pre release packs by default
Great to see a short summary of the draft archetypes! There are other creators that go in-depth every set, and I appreciate them too, but it's also good to have a short basics video on how to interpret the signpost uncommons.
Even though vehicles draft best in white/blue, I'll have my eye out for pieces that can support Greasefang and her rat pack biker gang.
I do love a good aggro, so I'll also see if my prerelease kit can make a red/white deck work, even if I'm still puzzled why they themed themselves off manila clams.
1:23 lmao I'm sure you had fun making that reference
Love these short overviews.
Always nice to see your intended archetypes.
Some feedback: The transition after Prodigy's Prototype was a big quick. If you want to read a card you stop the video of course - but this time an important card just appeared and was already gone less than two seconds later. Just another second or two would be nice.
KFP huh? I see you're a man of culture as well....
what I especially love in this set, that these archetypes are not exclusive to their colors. Like you can go ninjas in white/blue or blue/black artifacts.
Hey Gavin, glad the transition surgery went so well!
Hi! Hyped :) blue green ís unique since it uses channel on expensive stuff to keep doing things alongside ramping until you can cast those biggies!
Out of my prerelease kit, I didn't get much vehicles, but I still went blue/white because I had a tameshi and a couple of good channel enchantment cards to recast from graveyard.
Sweet! Thanks Gavin
This set looks like so much fun!
Oh wow, havent noticed that Dockside Chief is incredible with Oni-Cult Anvil before, 2 mana to draw a card every turn, sweet!
I'm really hyped for Neon Dynasty. My first ever commander deck was a Yuriko mind games deck, so I'm going Ninjas all the way!
Yes this is good info for draft, but it’s also good for PDH! Thanks for highlighting all these fun uncommon Pauper Commanders.
3:51 That Mechanaut brings much happiness on T2.
Looking forward to Prerelease this weekend
So are there instances where there's archetypes for draft specifically in mind, (Say...a bunch of commons and uncommons) but not really a big thing besides those overall in the set? Or is the design trying to keep everything holistic?
Thanks!
All these videos make me so much more interested in KND than I otherwise would be
Most interested in blue white vehicles since I think it's the most unique archetype and I'm very excited for that commander deck. Modified and br artifacts are tied for second for me. Overall this set looks like such a fun limited environment.
Super excited for Samurai. But, who doesn't want some Mechy fun!
Really hoping to open blue white or green white at the prerelease, they’re 2 of my favourite mechanics of all time
Red-green’s description works perfectly when substituting “red-green” and “modified” with “date”.
Hey so odd question but do you have just a bunch of magic cards for internal play at wizard's like for example binders of card's apron card's for wizard employee's to go through and build decks from.
I always find it hilarious how good morning magic and casually explained have the same intro sound-effect
EDIT: casually explained actually uses it for his outro sound effect, not his intros
1:26 I see what you did there!
Drafted an Izzet Artifact just now in Arena Premium Draft and got wins. Pretty sweet when you can put a 7/7 trample haste vehicle on the battlefield on turn 4.
Duuuuude the ninjas seem sweet, I'm gonna play so many drafts on arena.
Most excited for? RG modified.
Liked ug turttle!
I'm excited to draft 5color goodstuff, or to hatedraft into U/B ninjas.
I guess I'll go for the RB archetype
Spell pierce is so good... Also I play cedh Yuriko... I guess I'm gonna play dimir control
I've always enjoyed red/black sacrifice decks. The only problem is that the red/black uncommon was intentionally held back from being the powerhouse it should be. This new style of "fair" abilities that only trigger once a turn really hold back the potential to make a powerful deck that doesn't revolve around a chase mythic or rare card. I'm still going to play it but I'll be wincing whenever I could've gotten an army but instead ended up with just one lonely construct in need of friends.
I need more ninja. Please reprint the old ones.
Gundam fight all set? Ready-- go!!
Great video but I have to ask... As an absolute mech fanatic... Why are there no legendary Mechs within the actual set?
This really saddens me as an arena player because I won't be able to make a mech historic brawl deck.
We don't have this problem in paper due to commander sets, but why omit any mech legends? Strange and sad 😔
I've been wanting to get better at drafting, or at least draft more often on Arena. Thanks for this video for all the types to look forward to. I think my favorite one is the Vehicle or the Artifacts matter, but Samurai is also cool. I have two questions. One is specific and the other is more generic.
1. Would it be advised to stick with 2 colors in the limited draft environment or is a third color viable? Like Vehicle + Artifacts or Sacrfice + Graveyard?
2. For the Okiba Salvage + Greater Tanuki combo, if the Greater Tanuki is played from grave by Okiba Salvage while you only have an artifact in play, does it get the two +1/+1 counters because Tanuki counts as the enchantment in play? I feel like there is no check timing because the spell is putting it on the battlefield as it is resolving, so the "then" in the text suggests that it just happens because Tanuki is an enchantment and the conditions are met.
1. It's usually best to stick to 2 colors but if you've got enough to make it work then you got enough to make it work. Especially with all the ramp stuff in green if that's one of your picks. :>
2. No. You don't get the counters cause you don't meet both conditions. If it would say you get a 1/1 counter for an enchantment and you get a 1/1 counter for an artifact then you'd get one. It says and on it so you'd get 0.
@@blindey Oh true. I guess it does come down to pulls lol. I really do need more exposure to limited.
Ah. I was kind of hoping since it said "then", that meant I could play an artifact or enchantment creature and as long as I had the other type on board already, then the creatures placed with the spell would count as one or the other to meet the condition, but I guess it checks for conditions BEFORE the card is resolved rather than mid-resolution. It's been a while since I've paid this much attention to Magic. Thanks for the clarification.
You would get the counters. You have an artifact already in play. You return tanuki which means you have an artifact and enchantment on field when the spell checks for the condition. The creature is returned then the spell checks If the condition is met.
@@gabrielmonck-zweck2392 So it does work the way I thought? It doesn't check for both until the creature is placed?
@@AcePlaysTCGs that is correct. It checks after the creature is returned v
I hope to play WB Balance or RW Samurai!
I'm going for a crazy big beasty ninjustsu commander deck.
Golgari and Simic feel really poorly focused for this set and I have a feeling especially Golgari will be a poor choice for both sealed and draft this set.
In the 6 or so sealed games I've taken so far, easily the most entertaining has been Izzet. A common not to sleep on is Futurist Sentinel. It has really impressed whenever I put it onto the stack despite being somewhat lukewarm on it initially.
Hey.. will just be happy to see draft packs that don't have just two colors between all of the common and uncommon slots. VOW was horrible to draft in paper.
I think that White/Blue/Red would also be a good combination.
Would you say the 10 gain lands help the other 5 colour pairs? Or are they there to help splash a 3rd colour?
They definitely help splash a third color, which can be great for certain archetypes. Whether it's getting green ninjas into your ninja deck, letting your balance deck splash some enchantments matter cards, or playing UR artifacts and RB artifact sacrifice together. But I would say it's mostly equivocal. :)
@@GoodMorningMagic cheers for the reply :) quick one, do you know where I can view all of the tokens for NEON? I have seen the official spoilers are all up, but can't find the tokens
Yay ninjas and vehicles! And if I'm lucky... Ninjas driving Vehicles!
What is Wizards going to do about the Land issue?
I wanna build a boors samurai deck
I actually thought that blue/green was channel which would also fit. Sadly there aren't really any payoffs
I want to draft ninjas. I'm really hoping the ppr I'm going to on Friday I'll get a pool that facilitates ninjas
All showcase cards that come my way and end up with a terrible 5 color no synergy but hey looks nice.
Splinter your opponents chances.... Ha! I got that one. ;)
>_>
Does Mutate count as a modification for eternal formats? That seems like it would make sense.
It looks like no. Only 3 'modifications' are listed. But for flavor it would be cool.
Can you make a pre release video before this weekend?
Yes! It will be up in about an hour. :)
@@GoodMorningMagic sweet! Can't wait!
Why are there no birds in Kamigawa?
Ninjas!
every time I hear "blue green ramp" another hair turns grey
Moonfolk ❤️
Moonfolk Puzzlemaster?
#TeamSIMIC 😊😊😊
So basically look at 2-color uncommons and you can see the whole theme
Lmao "Silver Fur Master will help splinter your opponent's chances..." what an odd choice of words.
Ok, I liked the video, but…
What the whack is up with the mana order at the beginning!?!?!
0:31 should be 'White-Blue' Vehicles...
1:24 You can't tell me that wasn't a reference
Hey! Why don't you guys come clean about the missing Nissa in the NEO precon? Have some decency.
Played @ 1.5 speed.
We deserve an apology for Double Feature!
This entire set is just a huge buff to blue and green. Two colours than certainly didnt need buffing. Show me a good black card please.....
Sorry, I really don't like this set
5:15 3 mana ramp is not "cheap." Llanowar Elves costs G; Rampany Growth costs 1G; Cultivate costs 2G. Signets cost 2 colorless mana.
I don't understand what you're trying to do here. When you say something false intending to make your audience think it's true, it's a lie. When you lie, you jeopardize your credibility. If you have no credibility and you say "This set I worked on is fun," then people don't think it's fun.
Don't lie.
3 mana ramp is fine in limited, which is what this video is aimed at. I agree it has gotten priced out in commander and other eternal formats.
@@3SidedCard He didn't say it was "fine", he said it was "cheap." Is 3MV ramp playable in limited? Not really; though 3MV fixing can be. I'm not saying I want every set to introduce a new 2MV mana rock (though reprinting some good ones wouldn't hurt...); but I think we can both agree most (C) 3MV ramp spells for the past half decade have been mediocre limited cards and bad constructed cards. M21 even shifted Cultivate to (U). Frankly I like Llanowar Elves @ (C) in a Core Set, with expansions having 2MV ramp creatures as the norm. Anything else is designed to fail.
