Thank you for watching! If you like this project and style of video, I think you will also like this one. In this video, I built a traditional carpenters toolbox and may be my favorite film that I have created! czcams.com/video/-hPv5_QsONo/video.html
God has said in the Quran:
{ O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 )
[He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 )
And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 )
But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 )
And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 )

how can you not like this video
How this doesn't have several orders of magnitude more views I have no idea. This is one of the coolest woodworking videos I've ever seen.
HaHa! That was a very generous comment and it's much appreciated. I obviously hoped this video would have done better but it just never really took off!
Thanks…true artistry
And if I’m not mistaken, I believe this is what we call a beautiful man!
ASMR wood building 🤯
I've been thinking about a treadle lathe and other such off-grid machines. This is perfect, both functional and beautiful. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Thank you!
Wow, what a fantastic build. Bearing in mind that you made it without using any power tools, you have created something remarkable. It's a tour de force, the like of which i have never seen before. All the best from the UK.
A luxury pole lathe!! You look very focused and patient. Great job.
excellent work
Great job.
Dude, that looks awesome 👌
How to use a lathe and get a workout at the same time. Nice lathe!
Amazing 👏
This guy is a Wranglerstar fan. Beautiful craftsmanship. Great video!
Thanks a ton!
9:00 Well thus tells me the piece I need exists. I’ve been mentally planning this same build, with extremely limited previous lathe experience, and had been debating how to deal with the drive spur. Thank you!
Travail d'orfèvre superbe j'aimerais avoir les mêmes compétences pour réaliser un tour comme ça...👏👏👏👏👍
Wonderful work! Well beyond my abilities as a craftsman, but definitely a goal to aim for!
Perfect!
Thanx for inspiring everyone!
For an powersource an Old bicycle would Do the Job as well or even better, with less latency of the power supply!
Just loved it. The process of transforming a log to a something is amazing..... with hand tools
a treadle lathe that is actually worth a darn very welly done sir your work is well engineered designed as well as very functional
Beautiful video, shows what can be achieved using hand tools, patience, and a massive amount of talent. Not something I would ever build, but the best thing I’ve watched for a long time
Incredible work! This lathe will last ages.
Bravo. I am not sure I can build it but I will do my best to try something like this.
A lost art that I strongly believe is going to make a strong come back! Emphasis on the word strong!
Thanks!
How amazing. You are so,so respected!
Thank you so much for this video so we could witness your skill.
Love the hand tools. Craftsmanship has been lost lately with the new power tools.
Much respect to you, sir! I bet you don’t have any trouble falling asleep, lol.
Thank you! No issues lol!
Absolutely Beautiful.
Jim your skills are next level sir. I have watched the vid twice now. Well done.
I especially love the treadle and flywheel mechanism
Very nice, art and function, love all the hand tool work!
Great video and nice design! I know it would be extra work, but subtitles explaining what you're doing and maybe even including dimensions would be amazing. Still really fantastic though, great work!
Ok, thank you
Work without fuss and noise. I just rested while watching the video. Thank you for the wonderful content and great work.
Thank you!
Beautiful work of art. Thanks for video.
Heck for stout! Thanks for showing it in action! Well done!
Thanks Rick!
I just bought my first house and have been watching a lot of home renovation and wood working videos to get an idea of where to start. There's something compelling about wood working with only hand tools that I never thought about before. Thanks for the vid, and great work.
Thank you! Last year my woodworking goal was to become comfortable with hand tools and between my workbench and lathe, I learned a lot! Thanks for watching!
Outstanding build and great attention to detail. Thanks for sharing your ideas and obvious skills with us. Best wishes.
Wood and patience, leading to great results. Nice job.
You are the master of the woodwork, good idea
That is beautiful. Well done.
Absolutely fantastic video.
very nice
😊una belleza ésa máquina 😊
Very nicely done - thank for sharing this!
Awesome craftsmanship & dedication. When I grow up I hope I might be half as good. Beautiful machine! Brings back very fond memories of my grandfather. Thank you.
Glad you like! Thanks for watching. You might enjoy watching the videos on making a firewood mallet on the treadle lathe!
Wow what a beautiful job
I’ve begun planning for a treadle lathe of my own and came across your channel that way; I don’t know how I haven’t ever come across your content before. You’re into and doing the things that I’m into and your pace/delivery is right in the sweet spot for what I most enjoy too 👍. I like longer form deliberative builds over the montages and common diy click bait that seems so pervasive these days; thank you brother! Subscribed, catching up on your catalogue of videos, and I hope today has been a good one for you and yours!
Your dedication to the craft is astonding. It great to see someone do something without all the technology and equipment out there. Loved it.
Thanks!
Bloody brilliant mate! Absolutely bloody brilliant. Well done.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Well done, Jim! Kudos!
Thank you!
Inspiring work and video (minus the somewhat drippy background music)---I loved it.
Beautiful!
Wow. Beautiful work. Very careful.
Amazing job
Really outstanding!! Thank you for this vidéo! Is there a way to get the blueprint with all détails? I'd really love to try building one!!
You deserve a big like,
fantastic job. I really like it, congratulations !!!!!!
Superb & beautiful! Very well done, indeed!👍👏🤘✌💜🙏
Thankyou for these video i'm 17 ,starting woodworking i use only handtools because they are amazing and not so expensive, very helpful video, i will make mine soon ☺
Wow this build is so amazing! Brilliant! Congrats for the craftsmanship and patience to make it. Subbed!
Welcome! Thanks for watching!
WoW...Nice Woodworking project.
Thank you!
Que hermoso trabajo, lo felicito, saludos desde Chile.
Огонь вообще!!! Мужик ты молодец 👍👍👍
hermoso trabajo, saludos desde Venezuela.
Metal pulleys? Geeesh! :-) Lots of work pays off in the end. Nice!
My intention has been to make some wood ones once I get more time on the lathe. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow, man! Amazing work. Thank you for sharing, Brother.
Uncle JD thanks a bunch! I appreciate it!
Muy interesantes tus proyectos un afectuoso saludo desde Venezuela
Hard working
I like your work
Carpenter here for 35+ yrs...
I've realized, that if the lights go out in this country...
Brick Mason's(if they know how to make old brick, and know how to mess with stone...
Carpenters,Plumbers....could easily survive and build this country without electricity...
Some of them yes. Maybe then the Trades will be respected again and not treated like we're "Unskilled Labor".
@@oldmanfromscenetwentyfour8164 I don't pay 'unskilled labor' $100+/hr.
@@kevingraves7431 Who do you pay $100 per hour to?
@@oldmanfromscenetwentyfour8164 It is fairly common around here. $60/hr is pretty much the bottom.
Although, I guess you could find cheaper. But I am always a proponent of 'you get what you pay for'.
@@kevingraves7431 Where are you? I'm moving there!
Beautiful build and it works great
Thank you! 👍
A thing of beauty is joy for ever
Thank you!
Parabéns , muito bom!
A 25# weight plate, and 5spd sheave, and this coulda been usable.
KIDDING..., but,... just mostly.
Great Works !!!

Brutal
Very good bro!!!Watching is from Russia!!!💪👏
Welcome! Thanks!
I recently found your channel. Awesome build Sir!
Thank you!
Fantastic! If I ever build one, I think I'll follow this plan, but make it longer. I'd want to make Windsor chairs and that doesn't look long enough to handle all the spindly bits.
Thanks! You could definitely lengthen it to your needs!
beautiful build bro... and I love the choice of music too. ya know what else I like... you mostly if not ONLY used handtools for this
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic!
Thanks a bunch! If you like, I bet you will also like this: czcams.com/video/-hPv5_QsONo/video.html
You should do a bandsaw next
This is inspirational. I noticed your use of the Japanese rip saw and want to pass along that the footage I've seen of them in use over there shows a vertical stroke, pulling down. I'm going to learn to use my double-sided Japanese saw and will go about it in this way. If there's much difference in my ability to cut to the line then I'll update you. Thanks for making and posting the video, BTW. Peace.
Joel Wetzel thanks!
Those pull saws have become so popular in the past couple years lol. I was given one ages ago and felt so cool being the only one around with one, and now they are one of the single most common woodworking tools I see. You'll have no issues with it though, they are just super easy to get proficient with and so so versatile. It cuts close and accurate and will be saving you tons of time before long.
you live my dream, congratulation bro.
Thank you!
Lovely wood, super design, and outstanding craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing your obvious skills and ideas. Really enjoyed the video. Best wishes.
Thanks a bunch!
Dear Jim, this brief video is beautiful. Maybe you could post a short video of things that you have made with it. I was thinking of making a pole lathe but seeing the high angular velocities and a single direction or rotation makes this concept vastly superior. It’s like an expensive metal lathe without the metal and the motor.
One question I have. If you put a gang of three or four pulleys where you have a single one on the drive shaft, would that make it better to use or would it just make it more complicated?
Pretty cool stuff here
Thank you
Great job Jim, camera work has gotten excellent.
Thanks man! Much appreciated!
Superbe (french)
It's good! I like!
Would love to know what plans you used! Thanks for the great video!
Hermoso trabajo!! Tienes los planos?
Thankyou for the inspiration. Is that yellow pencil a keepsake you seem reluctant to sharpen it? Beautiful build.
Impressive!
Thank you!
Looks like you're using a pipe clamp as a load bearing face on the headstock. Might want to look into sone hardened races and needle bearings to alleviate undo/uneven wear
thank you and wow
Really impressive work mate. As a you-tuber myself, I'm guessing there's at least as much, or probably more time spent video editing as there was woodworking. Congrats...
Incredible what a fantastic pecie of work, ģreat film nicely presented with good background music, the concept òf using only hand tools was a brilliant idea, the sound quality of the tools cutting imeditaly transported me back to watching my father when I was a child, thank you for sharing, are there any examples of the work you have turned?
Thank you very much! I have videos of making a chisel handle and mallet so far.
What Is Islam?
Islam is not just another religion.
It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
{ “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)
Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him
THAT IS AWESOME
Thanks, Definitely one of my favorite projects I have done!
@@lastingbuild1373 I wish i had the room and space to make one but I'm living in the baracks so I dont think my room mates would agree to me having one
