- In this short video, I condensed 5 months and over 15 hours of video footage to showcase the centerpiece of my shop. My lifetime workbench designed by Paul Sellers. If you like this video, I will link to a detailed build series of the project at the end.

Paul’s bench is moving up the ladder on my list.
I had a guy complain on my workbench video that I used a power planer. Something about he was upset that he didn't have one. I said that anyone could build one with just hand tools if they wanted. I just happened to use what I had. Your video is a perfect example of building one with hand tools. I should tell him to watch this one for proof😉Great video 👍
Lol! Thanks! Not everyone wants to spend months building their workbench like I did! I will never regret though because I learned a ton.
Watching a woodcrafter building a Paul Sellers workbench is always a enjoyement well done! Greetings from Vienna/ europe
hello from across the pond! Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed watching you build with nothing buy hand tools. Thanks!
star safari thanks a bunch! I really wanted to learn hand tool woodworking.
About ten or twelve years back I built a similar bench. It's a lot of work and you did a really nice job.
Thank you very much!
Excellent build. Thanks for sharing it. Paul would be proud!
haha! Thanks Jerry! It was a fun build and I learned a ton.
С большим удовольствием посмотрел Ваше данное видео. И оно принесло истинное удовольствие от Вашей работы ручным инструментами. Спасибо Вам. И удачи в работе.
Nice job! You're living my dream.
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
I built pretty much the same bench from Paul Sellers' video series about 3 years ago. The top shows some evidence of abuse (spilled glue, a few misplaced chisel strikes, etc.), but I still love it. I wasn't sure about the tool tray when I built it, but I can't imagine not having it now. It's filled with chisels, hand planes, measuring tools and gauges, etc. Nice video!
I agree! I still use it daily!
Really good work!! I understand how hard it can be (and time consuming) to distill hours of footage into a short piece.
Man about Tools I really appreciate it! You are really a talented videographer so it means a lot coming from you! Thanks
Beautiful bench, really well done. Appreciate you posting this
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I built a paul sellars bench this summer, been loving it. Glad to see your enjoying yours!
I had no idea how useful it would be to have a proper workbench! How do you like yours? I still want to add a end-vise.
I built the older style with the tool well in the middle, really like it. I have a vise on either side, so 2 people can work and share the tool well. I think I want to built the newer version too. End vise would be nice maybe I'll try it. oh also wanted to say I love the pine wall in your shop!
Jack Brennan I enjoyed the process so much I’m building a treadle lathe with only hand tools now! No need for a gym membership with all the planing.
Beautiful!
Thanks
because of wood art. for us to enjoy. it's very amazing sir. cool
Thank you!
Incredible Jim! Awesome video, brother!! Beautiful workbench, great camera work and editing job!!
I love your massive chisel router plane. Wouldn't have even thought of that, though I guess that's just what a router plane is!
Thanks Michael! I can't take credit as Paul sellers recommended it for this project in his video tutorials. My router plane would have been way to small with not enough depth for this project.
great editing, can't wait to watch the blow by blow
This is a good project. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Thank you. Nice video especially the music. I'm a beginner so this is hard to understand conceptually. I admire you skills especially your sawing skills. You lost me early on but thanks for posting this.
I didn't figure it would take long for you to get some momentum. Great woodworking and awesome camera/editing.
Thanks a bunch! This week has been pretty special with all the views, shares, likes and comments!
Beautiful work. I saw the bench on Chad Stanton's show. Had to stop over to check out your vid. Both bench and vid are excellent. And it will last and be useful for years and years to come. Can't ask for anything more than that.
Thanks Eric! I owe Chad a 👍for sharing!
This is lovely!
Awesome video...like your style
Wow! Condensing 15 hours of work into a 5 minute video is some task. I watched your previous videos when you built the bench. I bet it's very useful and an asset to your shop.BTW: this is the 1st time I've ever been the first to comment and like! Silly to some, but cool to me. I enjoy your channel!
Robert Thanks for watching and keep those comments coming! I read every one! Glad you like it! It’s a great addition to the shop.
4:09 genius, I’m stealing that one!
It's Paul Seller's poor man's router plane trick ;) There is a video on youtube, check it out
Outstanding craftsmanship Sir, the only tip i can give you is yo extend your trigger finger along the handle of your saw. It gives much better control, 👍🔨🇮🇪
Really nice job
Great video
Nice job man! You've got yourself a new subscriber!
Inspiring.
Thanks! It was hard work but worth it!
Well done man , liked and subscribed . Keep up the good work .
Thank you! Great! Welcome aboard!
Job well done. Just came across your channel. You know what you're doing, very good content and video. 😁 from a new subscriber in Iowa
Great! Welcome! Check out this weeks video, it's my favorite so far.
Great work, your arms must be ripped after all that planing!!!
I wish! I like pizza too much unfortunately
I built the Paul Sellers bench this summer with just hand tools. Gained loads of knowledge doing it and the bench is great to work on. Got mine a bit higher than yours, as I don't like leaning over too far.
Pretty fantastic work, dude! Beautiful bench! 😃
I just subscribed! 😊
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! Will do!
In a world of technology and festfool domino joinery your video made sense its 3 27 am in india its worth watching your your video
Welcome to the channel!
Very Nice
Thank you!
Nice video Jim
Great Plains Craftsman thanks
You gt me with this video, now i am a subscriber. Lets show you other videos.
Thanks for watching!
На какую камеру снимаете?
Great build, and I like the music. Thinking of getting one of those sweet heart planes, how do you like it?
I think they are a nice alternative to the upper end Veritas and Lie-Nelson hand planes! I can tell you flattening the sole and plane irons is a bear though!
Saw the crocks for a second and thought they were orange wooden shoes! I may need glasses...
LOL! Kids got me those for Christmas a few years ago!
Go Dawgs!
subscribed. Just a quick question. Do you have a vacuum to clean up shavings, or just a broom?
I have both but mostly use the broom. This week it’s been my kindling for the stove!
Great music, what was the name of the band?
Beautiful - what wood did you use?
Pine!
Someone has watched a lot of Wranglerstar & Pual Sellers videos
Thanks for watching! I have been long-time subscribers of both!
With all the respect (very nice video): when using the hand saws you need to straighten your index finger, it will change your live...
Thanks for sharing!
Would I be able to leave out side???
Was this based on the Paul Sellers work bench?
Yes sir, it was!
I have a make do bench at the moment but will endeavour to construct a PS design bench soon. I appreciate your tips for other features too .
HOW DO YOU KEEP URE HAND SAWS SHARP???
I sharpen them on occasion with exception of Japanese saws! I also oil them before use! Good question!
What was the total cost if you may share?
I would guess $300 including vise!
@@lastingbuild1373 excluding vise?
@@lastingbuild1373 i found a lad selling 2x4x36 for .50 a piece due to a closure sale. Might be able to make a workbench for 30!
@@lastingbuild1373 all in all, approximate 50 dollars for all the lumber for my bench. If you ask me, thats a steal!
I still have no idea where to start.
i kust need to know where the music came from?
Did you ever learn where the music came from? I am also interested in knowing who it is...
All my music comes from Epidemic sound
3:20 What is this tool?
Marking gauge.
I heard very good opinions about the Woodglut plans.
Beautiful!
Thank you very much!!
