I test rode the 2018 BMW K1600B and enjoyed it. I could see myself owning this BAGGER! Visit Sills Motor Sales and mention '650ib Bagger' for a FREE T-Shirt! WIN MY 2017 BMW S1000RR! / 650ib
I just bought a k1600b. Traded in my 2015 roadglide with a stage 4. I am absolutely in love with the bike. bout to take it for its break in service. Absolutely love everything about the bike.
I own a built 2018 124 Harley Road Glide and a 2020 K1600B Grand America with Bren Tune. There is no comparison between the two when it comes to raw power. Still love the kick you in the chest torque on the Harley down low, but as soon as you get in the mid range and above the BMW is super impressive and the Bren Tune releases the Beast!
The bagger I would pick over any other BMW style unless I was pulling a camp trailer behind me, then I'd choose a BMW GTL to do that. Power and comfort is what I'm after. Being able to cruise at highway speeds and grab 100 mph to get out of a bad situation if I needed to is what I like. Soft and comfortable seating too. That combination is hard to beat.
160hp and it looks fantastic. Something a sport bike rider can be satisfied with.. power to weight ratio with 165lb rider = 5.66lbs per horsepower... 2018 Yamah MT-09 power to weight ratio with a 165lb rider = 5.03lbs per horsepower.
ib, I rode next to one of those 1600's last Sunday coming back from a LARGE group ride to Frankenmuth, Mi. We took the back roads there from not too far from Ducati Detroit. Some of us took I-75 back and I rode my ZX14R next to a gentleman who was riding one. We probably averaged about 95, sometimes 120+, and that Beamer had no trouble at all. The guy on the BMW was just about your size too.. Regards, Richard...
Belated comment, sorry. It’s not BMWs 1st bagger, it’s 1.6 liters, it was NOT designed to compete with HD head to head. It is however, a great machine & is wedged into a small cruiser/sport touring niche. I personally don’t think it’ll be a great seller however, I have a 19 & it fits my needs almost perfectly. So much so that I am & have sold my other two HD & Indian ‘baggers’.
Thanks for the review. Tired one of these like a couple of months ago, really liked it. I call it the Harley Killer after that... for like 24k you get a high tech bagger what else can you dream about... And I still think it's not 1.4L it's 1.6L :)

I bought the 1st K1600B in the NY tristate area, and it’s a dream ride. Power, torque and rather flickable for such a big bike....Love it.

I think I’d go with the 1600 GT if I had the money. These bikes handle so good. It’s amazing how the weight just disappears once you get going.
Don't judge me but this is my favorite bike

The sales guy, really knows his product..👍
Good looking bike. I already liked their GTL standard version.
