Theme from the BBC children's television programme "You and Me" UB40 B-Sides Playlist ► • UB40 - B-sides UB40 Links ► mrubloonie.blogspot.com/p/lin... #UB40
loved this, everyone carted into the TV Room, blackout curtains closed, big telly on the trolly stand...we all loved the original theme too and used to clap along as a class but this bassline came through well, even on the mono speaker, and that hint of reverb added a touch of subversion... heads nodding, feet swinging under the desks - mashin it up innada classroom...magic.
Close...but no cigar. Red Red Wine still reigns supreme. I mean, Neil Diamond performs UB40's version! Of his own song!! Would also put Many Rivers To Cross second.
I knew ub40 did this theme tune purely from my 9 year old selfs memory.. probably what makes me LOVE UB40 to this day (I’m now 40years old) Does anyone know if they did any other song or lyrics to this music??? I absolutely love the Bagga ridim Album (if you haven’t heard it.. find it!!) but I dream of hearing this as a proper UB 40 song!!!
I remember the first time Cosmo and Dibs were on this show (in a new series for a new school term). I was very disappointed that Crow and Alice had been binned. Then the UB40-revamped theme came on, and all was forgiven (and then some). Apparently that day it was first used was as far back as the beginning of 1983. 40 years ago. Seems a lot, lot less than that.
I was 32 years old when I realised this was Ali Campbell singing 😂
The 70s was a great time for kids tv
This song was from the 1980s.
And continued into the 1990s
This is a reggae arrangement of the older You and Me theme tune. This one started about 1984.
That bass is incredible! 😮
Simon and the witch had a wonderful happy ska rhythm.
Mrs eeerrrrr
How could I forget the Simon and the Witch theme song! You’re so right, wonderfully happy ska.

@@andromedaone3640 it was UB40, and to echo another comment, you are indeed a melt. It's even in the credits to the show in the 80s
