- With the loader attachment on my tractor I was beginning to get a little front heavy, so I built a ballast box to add hundreds of pounds of weight back on the rear wheels.

Reminds me of thus days with my son in the shop. He's a carpenter now. Enjoy each moment. The time will fly by.
This was a great project to have the helpers learn on. Can't teach them that in school.
Good job, not just on building the box but raising a Man.
That looks super handy to have around. All the tool storage was a smart move
It would have been easier to build if I had planned it that way from the start, but the result is still awesome!
I love the concentration on his face
We need a follow up video of cannon balls bouncing off the ballast box!
Love your videos and especially love when you get the family involved. My son is about to be 3 and is still skittish around the “loud” tools, especially the impact drill. I can’t wait till he can help out around the shop like your boys are doing. Although I know your edits don’t show everything, I have to applaud the efforts you and your wife have made in raising some polite and well mannered young men. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for the kind words! You obviously know how tricky it can be to feel like a good parent, but I think those boys are going to turn out alright.
Another nice vice. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Norway.
Love seeing the boys helping!
I have just loved watching your kids grow up and watching you teach them.
LOL we all know this one was more about the kids. Enjoy them while they are young
I keep telling them to stop growing so fast, but kids never listen.
What a great use of space! Love this project. Your shop is so well-lit, too!
Thanks so much!
If you welded a cross piece to the bottom frame, you could add a receiver hitch point and attach your small trailers to use as you clear brush and debris or smaller logs that you need to take to the mill site, or even the mill to different sites. Just a thought..... I think I’ll make one with the hitch to spot trailers on my property. Thanks for the idea!
That's a good idea! I have a clamp on adapter so I can move trailers around using my bucket, but that's not a convenient way to get work done!
Love that you are teaching the little people to use their hands and minds too.
I love that I have no choice! If I tried to keep them out they would just find another way in.
Somebody really likes his Dad!!
Glad to see you working and showing your Son some life skills and maybe some interest in woodworking
A lumberjack super wagon! Good helpers as well.
Won't be long and my helpers will be driving that tank.
Nice job, very useful.
Very nice looking, I’m getting ready to work on mine. Wish me luck!👍🏻
I like the chainsaw storage, frees up the box.
Unnecessary white oak??? I think your boys have mastered the torx, time to send them off the Drew for flat head training! Great video and cool utility build!
Don't tell Drew, but he's wrong about flat heads, they are the enemy of all that is good in the world.
I don't have a farm or a tractor but keep up the farm videos.
I'm glad you're enjoying them. I have plenty more on the way!
2:18 Supervisor ain’t taking any of your messing around today!
You can sure take that all the way to the bank. And deposit it.
Very cool! I like how you added the tool and chainsaw storage. Looks like a great thing to just grab and go when you need all of your tools.
Thanks 👍
Two words "Old Ironsides"
Thats some serious learning goin on by the eldest. Love it, reminds me of my dad and I. I have a 54 Ford NAA and have a box for the rear, no need for balast on mine as I have no front lift. I use it for the chainsaws and hauling firewood out of the woods. My father and I build it decades ago out of pressure treated 1X6.
Sounds like an awesome setup. If you build it right it'll last forever.
Hey Mark this is Cole Fauskee I love your vids
Amazing
Great build. Love the rustic look too. Thought you were going to make it really polished but, for a "quick" down and dirty box it looks great! Perfect for the back of a John Deere.
wait a minute, no mitred corners for matching grain :) looks like your young fella could be taking over the channel soon
You've got great shop assistants.
Yes I do!
That was great, man! Loved seeing your boys helping too! I guess I didn't realize you can drive right into your shop, that's awesome! That'll make it real handy for the pizza delivery guy. :)
Well that hadn't even crossed my mind... but now I need to find a pizza place to test this out.
Only you would think of the pizza delivery guy. I think you are more upset you can't steal (borrow) any wood. LOL
I really hope that 2:39 makes it into future videos. Anytime you cut a chunk of something, you can just look off camera and say, will this do? Then play the clip :) :) Looks like a good quick win project!
Haha, that might have to happen!
Was there ever a mention of the dimensions of this box ? One of the better ideas I have seen.
Very nice thanks for sharing. Gives me a great idea for a project here at my place!
I'm glad I could help!
I built just a tray for my carry all. I found it at a used dealer. I'll have to make a box wit attachments for mine.
COOL! 😊
I missed the unnessesary walnut in this project😂😂😂
Maybe I'll have to add some walnut racing stripes.
@@GunflintDesigns now THAT would be truely unnessesary AND freakin' awesome!😂😂😂
@@GunflintDesigns And some walnut flame inlays!
Im disappointed you didn't use any walnut.
Theres still time ;)
@@GunflintDesigns lol
Your son is more comfortable on camera than you Mark! He's just hamming it up! Where did he get that from? From Katie?
He's comfortable in his own skin until you ask him to smile for a picture, then he falls apart!
Thanks for the video. It was nice seeing you teach your children. A lot of parents don't take the time to do that.
God bless you and your family!
Have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, for the justification of your sin so you go to heaven instead of spending eternity in hell when you die?
