That would be a good design for a property line fence. Looks nice.
I agree! Thank you
Sweet 👍
Thanks for the visit
Very nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I remember watching when Dad David brought son on videos starting as a helper with kid hands in his pockets
Sounds about right hahah
@@OdellCompleteConcrete dude i been watching since you are doing great
With the inspector saying the wall can get top heavy…. Why not drill into the home and insert rebar into those holes vertical on a few courses and eliminate tipping over?
Top de linha 👏👏👏👏👏
I concur
TY
Love the wall. It hides the pool equipment and acts as a sound barrier at the same time.
Definitely. Thank you for watching!!
If the job is done by an O’Dell, it will be top quality work!
👍👍👍
Man that was a beautiful job to say the least.
I had a question, when building a wall using the vertical rebars, do you still need to conncet the block to the nearest wall using ties or horizontal rebars?
No you don’t need too. That joint between the two will act as a crack relief joint for the wall.
16/20 is the coarsest. 20/30 is finer, and 30/30 even finer.
Exactly! 👍
👍👍

Got a dumb question. I'm trying to stucco my walls (new concrete block walls), and the stucco just slides right off. (quickcrete one coat stucco). I did a little research, powerwashed the wall, mixed in 1/3 of a bag of portland cement per 80 bag of quickcrete stucco, and bought a godevil spreader and tried again. Same thing, falls right off....
What is the secret? Should I buy a different brand of stucco? I am at a loss what to do.
Any suggestions deeply appreciated.
Great job 👍 do you not need to wait for stucco to cure between coats and paint? 🤔
Yes thats in the time lapse cut of 3 days
@@OdellCompleteConcrete ohh cool thanks 👍 didnt know you could paint next day thats cool
What was the reason of letting the first 4 fully cure before doing the rest? Did the pool equipment company show up?
Yes I left for a couple days while pool guys ran their equipment
Build a retaining wall to hold back a berm in the same way?
Could you put the paint in your stucco mix prior to stuccoi the wall?GOD BLESS
It's a dye
What about paintable silicon caulking so you can hide/paint gap
You could mimic stucco texture on silicon too, I believe
Sounds tight and right
hi
just a couple of question though, you say you simply drove the rebar into the ground, i'm assuming as it's not going to be "supporting" anything then you didn't need to stick any of that resin into the holes to make it stick?
also, i didn't see you tie the wall into the original house, again, no need or is there another reason like expansion or the like?
thanks for another informative video though 👍
Yes the wall and concrete will move independently from the house. I drilled using a 3/8 bit with #3 rebar so it pounded in tight
@@OdellCompleteConcrete thanks for the speedy reply 🙂
@@OdellCompleteConcrete one suggestion, use half inch bar cause it drives in deeper. That 3/8 stuff only goes down so far
Was it intentionally not tied to the main house? Would tying it eliminate the gap between this wall and the main house seen towards the end of the video?
Only about a half inch gap. Better to not tie into house
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Why though? What are the risks of tying it tight together? I am planning to do so? If there are any drawbacks of doing so, what would you recommend to mitigate the future problems with tying together? Thanks for your reply.
👌👌👌👍👍👍💪💪💪💯💯💯❤❤❤
👍👍🙌
Second coat of paint?
part two
Can I skip the finishing stucco and leave it at the brown coat? Looking at bagged quikrete mixes they want $22 a bag of finishing stucco.
Yea you can, just paint it
Nice job. I believe you got turned around on your stucco grading comment. 16/20 is very coarse sand, 20/30 is much smaller sand and smoother finish, and 30/30 is barely above toothpaste.
Notifications not working... Have to fix that
Ok 👍
Can I get 1620 stucco at Home Depot?
Had to do a double take at the title, thought it said "Stucco and Decorative Crap" 🤠
OSS
To many days for that next time use rapid set for the cement it’ll dry up the same day on less then 30 min your ready for color nice work just to many days on that almost a half a week
Yea I pulled off for a couple days to let the pool guys run their equipment
On a previous video I believe you applied used motor oil on a form,in CALIFORNIA! Hell you can’t even fart out there unless it gets approved! That must have been a joke? CALIFORNIA the electric car capital of the USA. You better be building more power plants!
Its synthetic, so it's designed to be environmentally friendly
It's Sand and cement or sand and mortar. And the second is paint and cement. Good job.
Sand and cement makes mortar
Thank you
