I built my home in Mexico 35 years ago and after wetting my cement blocks I used the same air gun that used to spray a textured ceiling to spray stucco directly on the block . It’s been this long and my outside walls here in this area of Baja California Mexico is still in great condition.😊
This is one of the best videos on how to do something because there’s more working instead of talking
These guys are good, I’ve been doing stucco since 1992 and now days no one wets the block first with is “very important” and yes it’s ok to use a go devil on block but not lath, and that’s exactly right, it’s all about moisture and layers not one shot, THE ROD is the only way to do smooth or float finishes and see how he finishes it side ways?! that is knowledge...Great job!!!
You said,"No Lath"..why do you say that? And when you say Lath, do you mean that metal mesh stuff that you attach to the wall and then stucco over? I want to someday build a house out of cement block then stucco/render over it. I thought that you use that mesh stuff so the stucco lasts longer?
@@PxssyGalore I'm not as experienced in stucco, but I do some and I'm a mason/bricklayer.
You do not need galvanized mesh over concrete block. There's a natural, mechanical bond, a cementatious bond that occurs.
Make sure the block is as clean and dust free as possible, and dampen it, but don't saturate it.
Over wood? Yes, use a moisture barrier then attach the mesh and plaster coat it.
@@PxssyGalore Kirk Giordano plastering is a great page to check out too..
Lots of good info there.
Put glue on block not water pure amateur 45years in the trade
@@MMGJ10 Will it bond to cement board without Mesh? Will it apply and hold just like it does to the cinder blocks?
The cleanliness and professionalism at the job site is 🙌🏻, more contractors need to be like clea. And not dirty their surroundings
Who’s Clea?

You guys do quality work. I’ve learned a few tips from you that I’m going to tweak on my own projects
Very impressive. Definitely a professional. Great job.👍
Great job! I've been doing this kind of work for many many years.
Just goes to show you , that there are people with some great talent A
Please protect your lungs from cement and silica dust when mixing your mortar.
I’m not a contractor or doctor, but was thinking the same thing.
I knew from when you said wet your walls you had this under control! Made it very easy with your routine.
Looking forward to part two. Nice!
Love how you explain everything & why you do all the extra steps. Excellent youtube video!
Subscribed! & don’t regret it. 👍
Excellent video. The commentator is professional with a little swag. Love it
I liked that applying material technique I wonder if I could use that technique in cement rendering here in Australia as well
Excellent video. A lot of good information here.
Very nice, professional work!
Working men👍!
A very fine line between a hoddie and a baker,!!!!
True craftsman, very talented. They make it look easy, definitely not easy,
Great videos man!
Fantastic job. So many contractors spray and say looks good.
Definitely more an "art" than a science. Good job.

75 Stucco finishers who did not like this video for letting us know how to do it ourselves!
Love your work , we are watching from the UK cheers from building with Budd 👍
70’s had grooves! True that!
In many ways,lol.
Well done video. Found the music very relaxing.

Good job guys !! 👍👍
Believe me he is making it look fairly easy but it’s way harder than you think they did an amazing job
Nice thanks for sharing 👍
Nice work.
Bout to do it. Dope thank you brother
Miguel is the man!
Is that like 2 parts sand to 1 part concrete? I'm in the midwest we get 100F in summer and - 10F in winter. looking for a mix that will handle the extremes. Thanks for the help.
Talk about privacy, that is high and looks 👍👍💪, CHINGON!
I am did same like this plaster when I am doing I feeling so much enjoying,, I will tell you for drying issue use a brush and throw some water on face plaster before shaping... Also sometimes I want to do plaster some kind of mans after making hammering on his face,,
I wanted learn how to do decors from concrete then painting I like to amazing architect design,, I love this construction job,,
I’m waiting on part 2 to finish my wall lol
Part 2 is now up 👍

@@louis3998 i believe they're in fontana

😂😂😂
Looks good. If the bid allows add rib lath to the wall and attach with shot pins. That ensures you never see grout lines bleed through.
Es todo mis chingones, keep it up .
beautiful ❤
THANK YOU For letting people know to properly Pre-Wet the Cinder-Block wall…
Great video
Lol
Miguel is doing everything, I just was passing by and decided to recorde !!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What form of magic do you use to get it to ignore gravity. I tried it a few times. I put it on the wall it falls off. Works great on the ground.
You make it look easy! I have paint on my cinder block wall, do I need to pressure wash all the paint off first?
I’m in Austin Texas and had someone do our foundation facing! Wish I had seen this video before we had someone work on it😫! We didn’t know any better so the people that worked on it made a disastrous job of it! They used different types of cement, so our facing has different shades of grey on it!
Waaaaaaaaaaaa
Alma F, If you took the cheapest price then you got what you deserve.
Same process here in fla over block ,float finish or texture 👍
Buen trabajo 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Very Good workers
Can you apply that over a red brick chimney?
The “ Zen “of plaster.
☮️
a true plasterer can take the mud off the front of the hawk ..most wont bother to use a rod on a wall....or wet the block.. so good job !!!!!
does stucco help with water protection? my outside wall is starting to get coerced. Do I sand them down first?
Chingon el Miguelon! Awesome
Is it possible to stucco directly on hardy board? If yes, is the process different?
Do you use wire brush or brush wheel to clean off previous paint on cinder block in order to prep for stucco ?
I’m glad I work for myself, because after a day like this, I would need two days off to rest.
Miguel has skills!
Chingo compa!
Great job 👍🏽
Is that go devil half of a stop sign? Lol 😆
Hi Migual, what's the dimensions of the devil board, might make one out of alloy?
Great video! I have a couple of questions.
1. How did you nail the corner bead without blowing out the block?
2. I started to stucco a small courtyard cmu wall in my backyard. I put the whole 1/2” coat in one shot. A big chunk fell off the middle and I noticed a lot of sag on the bottom of the wall. Would you recommend two 1/4” passes to avoid this problem?
Thanks for the great videos and your advice! 👍🏼
Make sure the block is filled and angle your gun inward. Don’t mix too wet. And apply in multiple layers
@@pandaplastering2466 Thank you for the reply! Are you using a ramset or other tool to set the nails?
I just set my corner beads with mud right after I mix. No chance of blowing a block out doing that.
@pandaplastering2466 please reply can you stick foam block on this and gow
can you do this over regular brick wall?
Thanks for this great video. Really helpful. I have small planters made of block that I want to do smooth finish stucco to. Couple quick questions for you. How would you do a smaller mix for a wheel barrel or large 30gal drum?
Seems like it's 5-6 shovels of sand to every bag of cement, but how many LBS is the bag of cement and roughly what is the measurement for one shovel of sand lol? Also, is a cement mixer the same as a plaster mixer? Really appreciate any help!
Mix in a bucket with a drill and paddle
I think they have premixed bags ready to go, just add water.
Standard bag of Portland cement is 80 lbs.
Should you wet finished wall twice a day for a week or more
You guys will be finished and on to the next by lunch. Looks great. 🤙🏻
Nice Work. Yes, masks when mixing.
Ese miguel es chingon.
Can I use type S mortar for this? I have extra bags from the block wall job.
Yeah... Imma jus call Miguel cause he look like he know EXACTLY what he's doing.. LOL
Call me ...the first coat should of been scratched
I been a stucco mason on the east coast for over 20 years. California seems to be behind the curve just a tad. We use vinyl beads and Jmolds etc. Glad to see you guys using rods too. Atleast you guys arent hacking it up like that Kirk Giordano guy, that guy is the worst I've seen.
Lol I agree ☝️
Wrong brother we use metal trim because we don't have humidity like you we use stainless steel next to the ocean but everywhere else we use regular trims and we have the plastic trims to some city codes ask for plastic trims some don't
Los maestros!
I love to mix cement, it feel like frosting a cake.
Have you ever had marble sand together with white cement, it's a miracle so beautifully white when it dries, you don't even need to paint it, we use it smooth or thrown rough, rough can be used when a wall is crooked and abnormal.
Nice work ! Hope you make a million bucks but no I'll leave mine to the professionals !!
Professional
Is the material the same for all three coats? Scratch 1st, brown 2nd, finish 3rd? Thank you for your help.
For a block wall you just need a base coat , or 2 passes to get a good thickness and hide those block joints, stucco or finish, color coat is Also cementious product but has more bonding additives, the finish they are going to do is a smooth, as fine as flour.. so yes same stuff on both coats, stucco or different material for final coat
Really appreciate the videos! I have a question I hope you can help with. My foundation was covered in BlueSkin WP200. It is supposed to be under the dirt, but the Blueskin comes up above grade.
Any recommendations for stucco over the Blueskin? I could put the lath over the blocks, but I’m not sure how I could fasten it. Any recommendations?
Yea the only way it will adhere is if you put metal lathe.. you could try concrete nails, but be very careful and wear goggles or a face shield if you have. Heads of those things snap and you would be amazed at the damage they cause , I know from experience, or pick up some tapcon concrete screws and the matching drill bit ( get a few) and go at it with the hammer drill, personally recoment a sds rotohammer much faster, place screws or nails in a staggered pattern, that blue skin is supposed to keep moisture out , so when or before u put screws in, put a little latex caulk or liquid nails to keep the seal... good luck man 👍🏼
Bonding (lamco) metal lathe and blue tapcons Rl Perkins Plastering LLC
Every time I make a batch in the mixer ,I always put five gallons of water and five shovels of sand and let it run for a little bit before I turn it off, just to keep it clean.
I’m gonna start doing this.
Goat Devil :D
Is there a product to apply to the wall before adding cement instead of just watering or wetting the wall?
Do you guys do work in Palm Springs?
nice work cowboys
Nice
Can you put the stucco on the block walls that have paint on
