  • The Labour Party may be thankful that, despite having to suspend two candidates over alleged anti-semitism, two emphatic overnight by-election victories mean they've ended the week with a pair of new MPs.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
In Kingswood in south Gloucestershire, where the Conservatives were defending a majority of over 11,000, Labour won with a swing of over 16%.
And in the Northamptonshire seat of Wellingborough, Labour overturned a Conservative majority of over 18,000. The swing of over 28% was the second-highest Conservative-to-Labour swing in any by-election since World War Two.

I am from Wellingborough and I was surprised when I went to vote there was 11 parties on the ballot paper, the only parties that made the effort to campaign and really advertise, from what I saw, were Labour and in the upcoming week Reform. Peter Bone’s partner as candidate was probably not the best move for the Tories and again they did not campaign, comes across as maybe they gave up? Plus the reason for Peter Bone’s departure did them no favours, people of Wellingborough clearly had enough and voted change myself included.

Clearly it's looking too late now, general election this year, they've left it too long to tell the public what they're about. And yes, the public will be voting tactically, you're right. Correct, indeed. However, given the increasingly right-wing state and direction of the Conservative Party over the past 5-7 years, it’s fair to say that they’ve already alienated a large proportion of their moderate voters to the point of no return (in the near future that is). Targeting those groups now is both an action that would be too late and increasingly fruitless. They’ve really put themselves in a bind.

The Lab Party must reshape GB macro and Micro economic sub and super structures. Serious economic, social and among climate concerns, new energy plans and Gas and other energy means needs greater investment portfolios and better Monetary and Budgetary policies and reshape the nature of the British People's needs. Now Lab must revisit all of the present macro-economic plans and reshape Britain's industrial sub and super structure and maintain the national lead and cut further into all Party ends.

As a labour party member I'm really chuffed at the way the by-elactions went for all concerned and long may it last. A bit of a blot on the celebrations was a Muslim in my area saying that the Muslims now control labours future. He recons that there's that many Muslims now living in Britain, that their vote by sheer numbers could put us or the tories back in office at the coming election. He said labours party is a gateway for Muslims to enter parliament and as proof you only have to look at the amount of Muslim Labour Party ministers to the tory Muslim numbers. The tory Muslims are afraid of the tory right and that's why the numbers are low in that party. So if this is true the Muslim activists better watch their back because the far right reform party could become a 'get out of jail' alternative for the British people. You don't go around threatening a countries voting system after seeking asylum from political oppression in the country you fled from .
