Cabin in the Woods: Installing Aluminum Porch Railing on Deck

- During this episode of cabin in the woods we install the aluminum porch railing on the deck. This is the last major project we have to accomplish and it feels great. I purchased the railing at my local menards, but I don't remember the brand name of it. It is fairly inexpensive but good quality.
Stay tuned for the next video where I will be doing a full walk through of the finished product. I excited to share it, and I hope you are as well.

This guys workmanship is dumb good, and where most people call “good enough,” he goes above and beyond. Thanks for the series!
I read the entire Ryan’s czcams.com/users/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan’s Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan’s Shed Plans.
It's truly amazing that two men can build such a large complex structure start to finish; done right, high quality with perfection, no corners were cut anywhere, turned out beautiful, and will have a very long lifespan. I believe the only things they didn't do was plumbing, electrical, insulation and the slab. Outstanding!
Please do final walk through. Don’t end it with a railing project.
He announced on Instagram he’s already filmed the walk around.
If you watched the final 10 seconds you would have seen "FULL WALK THRU COMING SOON" ;)

When you are older, perhaps retired and are trying to motivate your grandchildren, you can show them these videos or drive by the job and they will be amazed what you and Greg did almost 100% on your own. Tremendous job and you can be proud of it. You gave it your best and it shows.
You & Greg should be proud of what you have done on this project, considering when you took it on there were 3 of you, Soo Good Job guys, from UK.
So refreshing to see high quality over quantity. You really take your time and build it like it was your own.
I believe they do things better than if it was their own. It's really hard to find builders this good.
@@Patriot-bn9om Not really hard, just have to pay a premium for it.
I just installed these same Williams Architectural railings from Menards on my deck, and it turned out great. I don’t have a bandsaw but cut them with a non ferrous blade in my Hitachi compound miter saw.
Definitely the longest project I've watched you do, but there was a whole lot to this one, not to mention the pesky pandemic missing up shipping schedules. Always nice to get the last few finish details done to wrap it up. Another job well done! Thanks for sharing!
Might be the 1st time I've heard you say, "That's close enough."
Thanks for the content Kyle. At this point it's what you do, but we don't take it for granted. Thank you.
I'm really impressed. Mostly we see you, Gregg and the crew put up a huge barn in a few weeks, and interior line out is the most they get. This really showed the potential of the pole barn construction system. Very glad you brought us along! Like all the rest of us, I'm sure you are very ready to get back to "business as usual"- hope all the rest of your crew is solid too!
Really enjoyed watching this complete build. Looking forward to the final walk-thru.
Just want you to know that you have inspired me to build a pole barn house myself. Your channel has given me a lot of insightful information to make that possible. Thank you so much for sharing this wealth of information!
Looks like the nice railing I got from Menards. Love the look.
I appreciate the time and effort you put into recording and sharing the detailed finish work on this project. Also liked the trials and errors shown here, looked more like a "professional" job that way. It was a big building, part of a builder's role is to figure out solutions in situ. This is the best series from you so far. Keep up the good work Kyle & Greg!
I loved this build start to finish it turned out really cool. I can't wait for the walkthrough of everything. Love the wood and stone it all came together really nicely on the inside. The stone and metal on the outside turned out just as well.
Absolutely marvellous. I followed all the releases of the project. So meticulous and well tooled. Where I live, we use blocks for buildings but this project and your attention to detail has made me to admire wooden buildings. Well done.
wow!!! just wow!! we're all looking forward to the final walk through of this awesome build you guys did!
A very big thank you Kyle and Greg for an excellent and very informative build series, I have enjoyed every step of the project and true quality workmanship 👍 with Regards from Scotland
Aria Railing System. Very user friendly. Great channel, thanks for showing us all the tricks!
You guys did an amazing job! That place is beautiful and all the attention to details was outstanding.
What a fantastic project. Thanks for taking us on the journey.
The decking looks so good. the smaller planks do it for me 🤌
I enjoyed the hole build series. All your videos really. Hope you do another one. Keep up the amazing work. You too Greg!
Awsome from start to finish.
Looks great. Glad to hear the in floor radiant heat is working. Quality workmanship all around. Be safe.
Just came across your videos today. I’m starting my own steel building company soon in North Texas & have already learned a lot watching your videos. Blessings brotha.
It's been great seeing this project from beginning to end. Awesome job Kyle and Greg! Hope to see a walk through video in the future.
Fyi Fortress makes steel 10ft sections for long spans, I have them on my porch. Thanks for teaching my how to install them!
Had fun watching this project. Enjoyed the interior work that we don't usually see you do. You guys did an awesome job.
Amazing Work! Thanks for putting in the extra effort and letting us all follow along!
Have really loved watching you work on this. Thanks to you I'm working on plans to build a post frame home of my own!
Wonderful series to you both, superb workmanship on this and every other project that you undertake.
Congratulations! Stunning work
You did a fab job guys , you should be proud the job you have done !!!!!! videos were great also ,thank you both
Great project..Enjoyed following along with the build. You do one of the best channels that describe the process and details involved..Which is probably unfortunate for other builders of lesser quality lol... I know it’s going to be very hard picking a builder for my project knowing they all don’t have the same work ethic...
One thing that impresses me Kyle is how focused you are on every detail, every screw you put in.
Yes, I enjoyed watching this build, Great job.
awesome... looking forward to the tour..
Kyle, You and Greg will always get a thumbs up from me. I started watching you on your 2nd video. You've come a long way fellah. Looking forward to your next video and especially the walk-thru. Be well and safe.
Great looking place.
Well done.
Good to see it thru a tough year with this pandemic. Great work!
Incredible build series!
I hope it leads to more projects like this for you in the future.
Kyle, your attention to detail is so awsome, it's no wonder people all over want you to come build their post frame buildings !
I enjoyed the progression of the project. Thanks for doing the series.
This was a great series to watch. Had a bit of everything. But we would love to see a final walk threw and a drone shot of the final exterior. It felt like we were on this ride with you and it was awesome. Thank you
Heck Ya! I loved watching the build 👍👍
Awesome build start to finish Kyle and Greg can't wait for the next one
This has been your best series of videos, please do more of them!
Such an amazing building, nice work team RR!!
I had a 36x48 building put up a couple of years ago with in floor heat. I keep it at 57 F and all I need to be comfortable is a long sleeve shirt.
always a great watch thank u 1 luv Reema NYC
A build to be proud of, well done. What excitement have you for us next.
This was an adventure - great job guys!!! Looking forward to that final walk-through.
Very nice project. Thank you for share.
I think it looks awesome !!! You guys did a fantastic job on it !!! 👏
Cutting the aluminium with the mini band saw did my teeth fillings a world of good ha ha.
Looks fantastic 👌.
Custom railing can be ordered up to 12 ft by the better/ more expensive fence and handrail manufacturers.
It however needs to be assembled on site .
Up to 30 powdercoat colors are available with different sheen/multicolor splatter coat etc.
A trim blade on a circular saw is much faster for cutting aluminum or vinyl, but there is a leaning curve.
On snap-top railing you must keep any skin away, many arm, finger skin has been left behind lol.
I’ve got the Milwaukee deep cut band saw like that. Super useful tool.
Awesome project. You are just fantastic builders.
Addicted. Need a new build series. Great job.
Awesome build
Great build!
I have in floor heat in my basement and garage. I keep the basement at 68 and the garage at 55. I would love to have put it on the main floor but due to construction restraints it would have added $20,000 to the build. I have electric cove heat that I rarely use and a wood burning fireplace that keeps it cozy. The garage is quite pleasant to work in. Im building a truck and I work in my shirt sleeves.
Hi!! Congrats for this masterpiece of job. Great building. waiting for new project. Big hug for the team " The A-Team". Cheers
An amazing project Kyle.
I recently put in some aluminum railings on a rooftop here in Tokyo, the system was very nice, but man was it complicated, that setup you have looks so much simpler, most likely MUCH cheaper too!
Cheers from Tokyo!
Stu
Great project!
Watching this video while I’m at work 👍
great series thanks
Congrats Kyle, looks great!
Great job guys as always. On to the next one!!!!
Hey bud,
Been watching your videos since the beginning.

Awesome Build! Enjoyed it!!
Super fine awesome building, very fine ,,Masterpeace,, .Yes we want a walk through.
Awesome project Kyle! Thumbs up man! 👍😁
Enjoyed this very much, great job
Almost done 👍 👍
Like the aluminum railing. Good build.
Radiant floor heating is awesome. A friend of my family has a house in Flagstsff Arizona and they let us borrow it from time to time as "the cabin" despite it being on the middle of a neighborhood lol.
But from time to time I have wondered about radiant heating on a metal roof to melt snow off, keep it from building up.
Nice job on the railings. Looks great. I'd love to see the finished project video from inside and aerial.
Looks good my guy!!!
I always learn something from your fantastic work .
I'm not sure if this question has been answered yet, I have been watching your channel for a while now, we now live in Cedar Hill in Tennessee and want to build a pole barn shop with some living spaces for family. So you channel has been a huge help. Now getting to the question at hand, while doing your siding and roofing, the material is metal, are you worried about the cut ends rusting.

Damn fine work !!
Great series!
That saw came through like hot butter. 🤙🏼
Love the deck and railing. Instead of a fixed screen on that porch which will inhibit your view, how about a powered roll up screen door that you can use when you need it but maintain a great clear view when you don't. We can do bug screens or shade screens depending on what you are trying to accomplish. We are an industrial bug screen company and we have ventured into the residential market with our door.
GREAT VID AS USUAL!
Brilliant build, I'm now wanting to "UN - retire" and beg you to put me to work building post frame. You are laser straight and focused like mad. :)
Good stuff bros 💪
Spectacular Job Guys‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸
You guys rock
