I realize Sebastian always provides a ton of material for vocal coaches to analyze and evaluate. I don’t know if he has ever gotten enough credit for being such a strong metal singer. So I’m glad to see voice teachers really outline his powerful vocal performances.

"Quicksand Jesus" is probably the next song. He hits even higher notes at the end of the song, plus simmular ones to this song, if you want to do a third song to get most of the power ballad side. "In a Darkened Room" is one too, but it has simmular qualities of "I Remember You" but darker song about child abuse/assault.

I will always remember seeing Skid Row in 1990. They opened up for Aerosmith. Sebastian was just as good live. Of course, when I saw them, Slave To The Grind album had not come out yet. Sebastian and Skid Row parted ways some time in the 90's. Skid Row has had a few singers front the band since then. Sebastian has his solo stuff and apparently still has quite the voice. He's not the same(over time, are any of us?), but according to a friend of mine who saw him in Toronto last year. He's still pretty good. Anyway, this was the 1st video of yours that I've seen. Quite enjoyed it, loved your analysis and appreciation of Mr. Bach. Someone in the comments already suggested to check out "Quicksand Jesus". I agree with that choice. But might I also recommend "In A Darkened Room"? Loved the video. Keep up the GREAT work, you have a new subscriber! 🙂🙂🙂

I didn't mind all the interruptions. Frankly, I appreciated them because the look of excitement and awe on your face was priceless. IMO, it's why so many Bas fans suggested this song as the follow up to I Remember You. We all know how amazing Sebastian is, but wanted to hear you teach us why. Your next listen should be Slave to the Grind, Monkey Business, In a Darkened Room, or Quicksand Jesus.

I'm just writing, I knew you would definitely like it, I recommended this song to you once (recently)...
    Thanks for your reaction!
One thing: remember that metal music has certain rules, if we want to sing about: love, beauty, Pocahontas, Unicorns, Dream Theater, pop metal, etc. - we use the Major scale...
    - if the topic is God (negative context), death, failure, betrayal, lack of beer, life in general sucks - it will definitely be Minor.
I know, I've been listening and playing this music for almost 40 years, and I'm a professional in reacting to metal music.
    Warm regards, Jennifer
btw: I recommend Opeth (whatever you want, my favorite band, I'm sure patrons will write something to you, if not let me know).

One of the joys of being in my mid 50’s now was being in my early/mid twenties in the late 80’s and early nineties. I saw Skid Row so many times. Sebastian sounded AMAZING live and was (is?) an excellent frontman. There were some primitive versions of autotune available back then, but for most bands, what you see is what you got. It was a fantastic time to be young and to be a rock fan.
