ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it's true. So what's motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn't an easy time but I won't let fear dictate my life. I didn't think 'why me', there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it's not always smooth sailing. It's true when you hear, 'Life is short', the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It's so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

Sebastian is such a masterpiece.
Was* :/
I get a kick out of Rebecca's expressiveness on this one hehehe
No, Rebecca is a masterpiece
I agree what other hair band lead singer went on to do 4 shows on Broadway??
I'm waiting..
Hair, yes. Hair band, no
Slave to the Grind is one of the best rock albums ever made. Period.
I absolutely agree it was skidrows best
Fuckin A RIGHT 🤘😆
Yep. Had it when it came out.
I would love for darling rebecca to review "Monkey Buisness". The groove is just so grrrrrr!!!
Not one filler track on the entire record!!
Thank you for this one! Quicksand Jesus and In a Darkened Room are two other incredibly beautiful and powerful tracks from this album.
Beautiful and underrated
Yes!
Now if we could just get her to quit fast forwarding the videos.
Very true
I remember you was always my favorite. I saw them with Bon Jovi in 1987 and Sebastian killed it!
I like how his voice even gets more desperate as the song goes on.
Amazing voice..
Yes!!!!!
"Don't pause on the solo" I appreciate it
+1, definetly better like this :)
Is a crime pause on the solo
Ever.
I think she learned that pausing a Dimebag solo!
Exactly when Scott Hill was Skid Row!
Now days it's hard to believe this level of vocal track was ever created without autotune or melodyne.
Yeah, you're not wrong there.
It's only because they didn't use autotune that they acheived this level of greatness. Talent used to matter.
Because Baz was the man 🤘
True!!
It's awesome... But it is full of compression/limiter, reverb, delay, etc. There's a ton of effects going on. Let's not act like he's around a campfire belting like that.
"In a darkened room" has incredible vocals from Sebastian as well😉
having lived a simlar story to what in a darkened room is written about its an amazing song and hard to hear breaks me down
Very powerful lyrics by Rachel & Bas. It's a very dark subject matter indeed but I give these guys major props for having the stones to call it out.
I don't know if Rebecca can handle that masterpiece
@@thommyjacobs8921 for some reason Rachel hated this song. He really was the dickhead of the band. Yes Sebastian had his issues but nobody ever talks about how controlling Rachel was.
@@Faven2011 His stage name 'Rachel' is a hybrid of his brother's name, Richard, and his grandfather's name, Manuel. 'Bolan' is a tribute to one of his childhood idols, T. Rex frontman, Marc Bolan
He wrote these lyrics about his good friend Steven Adler former drummer of Guns n' Roses🙂
Wow, I never knew that...Thanks🖤
Sure did!
About watching Adler lose his grip on his heroin addiction. One of the saddest stories of our musical generation
I had no idea. Who wrote the lyrics Rachel or Sebastian ? They seem like Rachel would write
I forgot about that!! Wow, taking me back to my teen years 😭
Written about Steven Adler who was destroying himself with drug addiction
And still is...
Just for a short moment there I was suddenly 17 again. Wow, love it, love it, love it. ❤️
One of if not the best vocals by Sebastian. What a range he has.
This is one of Skid Row's best songs. Glad you enjoyed.
Absolutely ;)
My favorite song from them
And Rachel Bolan hates it apparently! I think it's a fantastic song
She’s our rock n roll queen now, showing her diplomacy by “not pausing the guitar solo” so lovely. All hail queen 👸 Rebecca.
Sebastian is a theater of a man. Unmatched vocals that convey pure passion and raw emotion with unique fry/distortion and beautiful pitch and belt. For me, this song is a masterpiece of everything rnr/heavy metal music can offer. Haunting lyrics, awesome guitars, drums...
Nicely stated!
It is honestly amazing the range, breath, sustain, and growl that Sebastian had. It’s amazing he can still talk.
they dont make legends like S.Bach anymore....
I went to see Sebastian a couple of years ago and he came out and let us know he was going to sing three songs to warm up, take a break and then come back out and kick our ass. He was true to his word. He sounded very close to his 90's peak. Very good show!
"My god how long can he sustain that note"? forever, the dude can still hit it.
This is one of my favourite metal singers. Fantastic voice and performance. And thanks to Rebecca for picking this beautiful song.
Saw him live about 3 years back. He is a little raspy now but still kills it. Favorite vocalist of all time!
I just love how within the first minute she goes from 'musically trained unbiased professional opinion based on the vocals' to gushing for good ol Baz!
He was one of the best singers of that era. So much fluidity and passion.
Skid Row would have never achieved their level of success back in the 90s if it weren't for Sebastian. Definetly, my fav singer and hero when I was a teenager
Seb's voice and range is from another planet.....
I always loved “In a darkened room” showed off his range and pitch very well 🎶🤘
The song "Livin on a Chain Gang" is just unreal! Generally speaking, the whole album, Slave to the Grind, is an iconic hard rock album imo.
Oh and agree on Drarkend Room. Such a great song.
Bach has a gift voice that every singer desires.
Sorry I'm late! This dudes pipes basically laid out my childhood. And, as a Gen X Old Fart, it doesn't surprise me that he's done Broadway. 🤘🏻
THE best 80’s rock vocalist of them all!!!!! Classically trained, so dedicated to his craft...his autobiography is awesome.
I'm pretty torn. There were Sooo many great singers. Bas vocals 🤯. But Geoff Tate? Miljenko Matijevic? All great singers. How do you judge who is better? All of them have such range. 💕🙏🇺🇸
@@barbaravance6774 for sure! I think it comes down to personal preference. I have always been so impressed by how much care and practice he put into being a great vocalist and having longevity. I think for me that’s what sets him apart.
legendary vocalist. Better then he's probably given. Awesome band. It's a bit ballad here and there but still very powerfull and still very metal. It is metal enough when there's this thick substance beneath it for the structure. Metal gets allot a sh.... for sounding like noise but musically offers sometimes the very best/well rounded musicians that in many cases easely outshine the next populair pop artist.
Yes!!
Sebastian Bach has a crazy range and such a powerful voice along with being able to command the stage. He is a legend. He has also done some on Broadway such as "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Jekyll and Hyde" and toured with "The Rocky horror Show". He is about as versatile as you can get.
He went to vocal school for 10 years so i think he knows what he's doing
Right?! Trained in opera and all...
Nicola Wirth,he was a choir boy then too..before joining a band..
his voice is shot now, he cant any high notes.
Look up some live footage from back in the 80's and early 90's. He sounded just as good as he did in the studio. 🤘
This whole album was really awesome.
One of my favorite albums. Grunge had started and the music industry and the populous ignored this masterpiece. sigh.
@@newworld9133 Skid Row were a great band in the wrong era.
@@fredfredburger5150 indeed. Had they started releasing albums 5 years earlier, they would have been HUGE!
Their best IMO.
@@newworld9133 grunge showed up and ruined music LMAO, but you were correct it did not get the credit is deserved
Lol! "Don't pause on a solo". Yes girl!!!
learned from the pantera videos lol
Totally! Yes!
The golden rule!!
don't speak on a solo too...
I really wish you would react to "I Remember You (Official Musc Video)" as opposed to the live version. It has THE BEST sustained cry followed by the perfect way to resolve it with a "Yeah!".
Much Love
Xx
Check out this version! czcams.com/video/3L7lUF-pMI4/video.html
I was kinda disappointed she didn't do the studio version. I'm hoping if enough people mention it she'll do it. It's the proper version in my mind.
@@Chris-lz1fs Her studio version is acoustic also, but here is is czcams.com/video/F0Oys6yxSs4/video.html
This song runs chills down my spine every time. A lot of his songs do that
Sabastian is one of the best vocalists to walk this earth.
Besides Steelheart lead singer or Queensryche lead singer
@@leondee9878 Nah man Sebastian bach by far. I love dio as well.
Guys don't forget bout Freddie Mercury.
@@leondee9878 All great, but don't top Bach.
@@dannithorn5040 Freddie and Bach are about tied for talent in my book. If i had to choose one, it'd be Bach though, his range and belts are just unparalleled.
the full gamut of his voice range was on full display on this song. to be able to belt it out while destroying his vocal chords pretty amazing and still come back to finish the song with softness
Sebastian is so incredible especially on this tune....Love this song
Best rock vocalist ever. Holds his vibrato thru his whole range and the whole song to the end. Has to be exhausting to do that
YES!!! YES!! YES!!!! Finally you've listened to this all time classic fav!!!!...... Love ya always.... 😘😘😘
No Bach=No Skid Row
THIS⬆️!!
@@planojag595 now if we could only get Scotty and snake to realize that Rachel is the problem and it wasn’t Sebastian maybe the band would be better
Sebastian back in the day for sure got more tail than a special needs class at a petting zoo. He was a beast. Still my favorite from that album is Darkened room, the lyrics are out of this world
Asshole
@@sweiland75 are you a moron? or don't I need to ask?
Actually, pretty sure he was with his after high school sweetheart through their hayday.
@@sjnix7044, pretty sure you are right. I believe he was one of the rare cases of a truly faithful man/husband while being a massively popular rockstar where women would literally throw themselves at him no doubt.
He was with Maria for about 25 years and three kids, but was far from faithful, lol.
80's Metal still rules the Earth. Bands like them are gone now. Judas Priest" Blood Red Skies" off Ram It Down album.
Rob Halford is a metal god.
Victim of changes is amazing too. (Among many others)
I agree with you, 80's metal did rule the earth.
desert plains
No vocal track ever..I mean NOTHING touches Resurrection by Halford..Go crank it and then tell me...
The TRACK Resurrection i mean...In case that isnt obvious...
If I'd never seen an RVA video before, this reaction would make me subscribe straight away. Passionate, energetic, funny, informed analysis, it's all there! Great song and a godlike voice.
Thanks Steve you beauty
@@rva Quicksand Jesus is a must if you liked this one 💯🔥
Sebastian Bach has always been one of my all time favorite vocalists. I was fortunate enough to see Skid Row live several times and what a great live band! In A Darkened Room and Quicksand Jesus are both incredible tunes.
He has such a talent!:That voice...what a gift.
You're reviewing the once mighty Skid Row and the equally (and still) mighty Sebastian Bach. Great song off their second album which is amazing record. I saw this tour numerous times in '91-'92. Another nice review here, Rebecca, :)
One of my favorite skid row songs Sebastián sings this song with awesomeness
I wish Phil Anselmo paid more attention to this song when Skid Row toured with Pantera.
SO glad you decided to check this one out! I've been requesting it for a couple of years now :)
My goodness, he blows me away with his voice. And he's so gorgeous in this video. What a beautiful man!
Sebastian is a killer singer....Canadian dude can scream.....great vibrato as well...mad sustain.....Skid Row were badass....seen them many times...
good choice RVA.....thank you dah-ling.......
Sebastian Back is such an intense singer, he once suffered a hernia during a session. Also an awesome sense of humor!
Seb blew his voice out when he recorded this. He said he had to cancel concerts for at least 2 weeks to give his vocals a rest.
Wow. I can believe it!
After I heard this song for the first time, I knew all the lyrics. It is a true masterpiece.
He wrote this song because of Steven Adler from GnR. He was friends with Steven and at the time Steven was really strung out on heroin.
Love this song. In a Darkened Room is another great one from Mr Bach!!!!
Couldn't agree more it's a fantastic song and his vocals are insane
I don't know if anyone commented about this, but i was lucky to be backstage for a show. Sebastian used his 'warmup' as entertainment for the fans & crew. He started with 'Summer Breeze', worked through 6 or 7 other songs, and finished going note for note with the radio ...which i think was playing 'Sympathy for the Devil'. A very nice guy, and a very talented singer. I'm sorry that I didn't get to see him on Broadway.
Do you know how lucky I was to have seen them live 3 times. First 2 albums. 😁
What a great song! Great reaction Rebecca!
I saw him love two years ago and he is still absolutely amazing. I would have given a kidney to have seen him when he was on Broadway.
I always get chills when I hear his voice. So powerful and what a range.
I still get chills everytime I hear this! One of the better vocal performance of that area for sure.
The second record was where Skid Row came into their own. I remember when it came out...HUGE improvement over the debut. The title track for Slave to the Grind is a barn burner.
One of Skid Row's best! Was hoping you would do this one
I’m so glad you finally did this!!!! He is amazing on this song!
Another beautiful video. Thanks Rebecca.
Sebastian has one of the best voices in rock and roll.
One of….my ass lol
He brought a lot to this song. It was written about his friend, Steven Adler, as he descended further into heroine addiction. Sebastian is genuinely angry and sad. The emotion is in the DNA of the song and you can't help but feel it.
Thank you my dear! I've been waiting for you to give this one a listen!
Such an amazing song!!! Absolutely love his range and emotion he puts into it. I love, love, love your reaction my sweet, beautiful Rebecca. You are breathtaking as always! 🌹🌹😘😘❤❤❤
IMO one of the toughest songs ever to sing live (full out). You will be physically exhausted by the end. Sebastian has (had) a true gift. I've seen him perform live 3 times and he (usually) never cheats a note. He digs deep, grabs the mic with both hands and lets it rip. Quite a sight and sound to behold.
Is he not good anymore? I know as you get older, your voice can go a bit but I'm wondering if it's a huge difference or a minor downgrade? (I'm not very familiar with his work - speaking honestly, but I'm curious).
Sebastions voice jist blows my mind everytime
Great singer
I love your channel!! Your voice is very addictive!!
Now what I'd really like to see are some of these vocalists, especially the metal guys and girls, doing reactions to the vocal coaches reactions lol. That would bring it full circle
One small sentence on this react that earned my undying respect......”ooh, don’t pause on the solo”. When are we gonna hear you sing a full on balls to the wall rock cover??Ghost Love Score.....go on, I dare you!! All the best xx
Haha one day
I was lucky enough to see them live several times. Amazing every time.
This is my favorite from Skid Row. Baz’s vocals are other worldly on this one and he should get the credit he deserves as one of the top Hard Rock vocalists in history. More Skid Row please Rebecca!!!
He still sounds good to this day and definitely does vocal warm ups.
Great reaction and comments, pace yourself on using alot of your energy, can't bear you getting ill again( missed u during that time, was watching your old videos)
Thanks as Always Rebecca ⚘
Ps Keep Rocking 🤟
You are so sweet I promise I'll be good
Thanks, you know you made my bucket list to hopefully meet you.... someday😄
Thanks for the kind words Rebecca ⚘
Another Awesome Reaction Rebecca!!
My favorite reaction to this song, well done.
You mentioned "yeah that's his studio voice"… he sounds like the albums live to this day.
incredible song and performance from Bach , and id like to second "in a darkened room" as another skid row masterpiece
Rebecca, you know Sebastian was the Phantom of the Opera for a while, look it up. His vocal abilities are unreal, such insane range!
30 years later and he can still nail this song. God tier voice.
|r|ebecca!!!! More skid row?!!! You're trying to make me like you more and doing a Dan-day job. I remember roasting the speakers of my Chevy Celebrity with this cassette tape. Bless your beautiful face!
Was wondering when you'd get to reviewing this song, Seb Bach had a bulletproof voice back in the day and this song showcased all his range. According to his book, he said something like he recorded these vocals and was pretty much exhausted vocally after, strained, and while James Hetfield of Metallica was watching in the studio, so wanted to prove to him and give it his all for the track. And I very much doubt protools was used to clean it up, unlike a lot of todays 'singers'
great job Rrrrrebecca!
He actually blew out his voice for the first time doing takes of this song in the studio. He Talks about it in his book "18 and Life On Skid Row" its a really good book! The audio book is even better! He reads it, along with audio book bonuses!
Glad I got to see them live back in 1989.They opened for Aerosmith awesome concert. He was so great .
Quicksand Jesus is another amazing song by them
You're awesome!! Thank you for the reactions!
Sebastian sings through his heart and his gut. There's a technical term for that, right? His vibratto is on point. Strength. Range. Agility. Elasticity. Power. A f***ing powerhouse singing genius. He'd probably be the first person to tell you he doesn't know the first thing about technique but, rather, instinct. He's amazing. Love your videos!
I would love to listen Rebecca singing this song. It would be sick.
That was unbelievable! His voice is incredible!!! He is the best vocalist for music like this! That ending is so emotional and the pain and delivery was just mind blowing!! I've heard this song hundreds of time throughout the years and it gives me chills everytime it never gets old! You should also listen to Quicksand Jesus and Monkey Business have amazing vocals from Sebastian and I've been wanting you to do a video on a band called Acid Bath please don't let the name throw you off the singer Dax Riggs has the most beautiful unique haunting effortless amazing voice that I've ever heard. How he sings is so emotional and the pain in his delivery is so hypnotizing the song Scream of the Butterfly and graveflower and Bleed me an Ocean are some amazing songs that show his beautiful range and ability but the first song you should listen.to from them is called Dead Girl from the album Paegan terrorism tactics his vocals are phenomenal and again don't let
The name scare you off its an acoustic song trust me you will thank me for introducing me
Your reaction is joyous! I'm a new subscriber because of this.
Sebastian is the master. All time favorite and he’s still got him. Love him
