The 1963, split window, was my mom's "Mommy car" My dad bought it for her, as a thank you, for making most of their money, while he was an intern, and then resident. The first time they had some real cash, about five years into his practice, he bought her a sliver, split window Corvette. No station wagon for my mom. Mom's uncle built race engines, for "Funny" cars, and others, in New Mexico. She grew up around fast cars, and loved them, I could always tell when she was blocks away, from the sound, that lovely sound, of her engine. I had leg braces, and physical therapy, when I was a little girl, no one made fun of me, because my mom would slide into the school parking lot to pick me up for rehab. She and her car, gave me cool points. In the end they sold it, because my parents had four children, They always said, it was their greatest regret.

I have a 1977 Corvette that I own sent's I was 16 years old and I am related to Louie Chevrolet and all Chevrolets all of his name but the ones he wanted to build was sports cars
A great piece of American automobile history.
Hi Ken, So interesting that the "back window that doesn't work because the Driver can't see out the back" becomes the desired one. I agree with you and thank you for viewing and commenting, Lou
The owner seems very nice.
Agreed
Good Morning Lou,
Wow!, what an absolutely amazing survivor! You will notice a “ridge” ran from the top of the windshield, all the way back to the trunk. The designer of the car chose to “split” the rear window, in order to preserve an “unbroken ridge.” However, there was a good deal of acrimony at the time at Chevrolet between him and management! I had the opportunity to read about the development of Corvette, and it was North America’s “first sports car,” designed to compete with British imports. It’s a fascinating story, and I highly recommend it! By the way, the battery-powered toy Corvette that I got for Christmas from my brother was red. When you stop to think about it, do we really outgrow playing with our toy cars? All the best my friend!
Hi Fred, I think the cars keep me young, and I still enjoy driving them and playing in them :-) Lou
That's my dream car.

El mas hermoso en la historia de los Corvettes, ese modelo con el parabrisa trasero divido era lo mas parecido a un avion caza a reacción.
Thank you for viewing & sharing.
Split window goes close to being my favourite, but I drove an E Type Jag once or twice and it beats it by 3 years, loved how they flew too.
Hi bob warner, Sounds like you have two Winners to chose from :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I don't know what's better, this, or a 59 Vette.... I wouldn't be able to choose between the two
