    My dad before he passed away was a big banks fan, his 20 l5p (we still have it) has a banks derringer and it definitely helps. He had one on his 18 to. I've got some videos of the 20 l5p vs a 20 powerstroke. Sadly he died at a truck stop in taco bell at 53 years old. He was a gm guy and I am a ford guy but we both loved diesels. He watched your videos a lot. I almost sent him this link... 😞

    Man I think that truck is pretty awesome. My lmm has the exact same lag between shifts especially when I turn my tuner on extreme. I was thinking maybe a fuel issue but maybe it's just a Allison 6 speed issue.

    Sweet man glad you went with the pulsar, I love mine! For the trans shifting kinda wonky, you can do a transmission “relearn” it tells you how in the pulsar manual, it helped my truck a ton. Another thing you can do is monitor your “soot grams” on the cts3, you probably knew that but I thought that was pretty neat!
    Awesome content keep it up!

    Josh, before you install a Ryan's Diesel turbo. Look into a VGT Lighting Bolt turbo solenoid it's $450.00. Suppose to increase boost by 5 to 12%, torque, mpg, a cleaner burn, less soot by your veins in the turbo. I'm thinking this might be my next expenditure, especially if it it's gains mpg.

    Watch your EGT limits! I too want longevity of my L5P. Satisfied with the more conservative Banks derringer, which respects
    Factory engine and transmission limits. With that said, have fun with the added performance. I really enjoy

    Just recently went from a banks derringer and pedal commander to the pulsar v3 and cts3... I was under the impression that you could adjust throttle response with the pulsar.. turns out you can't. There is a setting for it tho.. contacted edge tech and they said you cannot adjust it. They suggested I put back on the pedal commander.. I loved the response I had when I had the pedal commander. Do you have any info on this?

  • @thatgreenguy2717
    @thatgreenguy2717 Před 2 lety +1

    Just to put this Info out there the stock L5p Has a high idle mode, if you have the truck in park set the parking brake and hit cruise control - it will idle up to about 1500rpm to cancel just hit cruise cancel and if you want the truck to idle up on its own when it's cold enough out go into the infotainment and search around until you find the "Elevated idle" setting switch it on and whenever you cold start on a really cold day after about 30 sec the truck will bump up the idle to about 1200rpm warms up the cab in about 5min these settings are a must up here in Northern Canada

    I would be careful with those hot tunes. I'd be concerned because as the dpf builds up particulate matter it's going to cause more back pressure in the exhaust. Could lead to some engine issues if you aren't careful. It would be really cool if a company came up with a 4 or 5 inch exhaust that has a better designed dpf system. That would do a world of good for the diesel truck community. Would probably be expensive as heck though

    A comparison would have been to have the truck in it's Stock form ,no alterations,and the Edge fitted .
    Do the comparison of cost for the upgrades and the edge ,and see what gains you get ,what MPG are etc .
    I'm thinking that the average owner would just like a simple upgrade to tow with and gain mpg ,without spending on the other stuff IMO , interesting stuff ?

    Is this the original Pulsar or is this the Pulsar V3? I am looking to order the original Pulsar instead of Pulsar V3 because the V3 is 2-3 months out and original Pulsar ships in 2-3 days. Please give feedback on if the V3 makes a big enough difference to wait that long.

    If I remember correctly, this is what clogged that dpf and caused you to sit on a park bench? Correct me if I am wrong.
    I have this on now and yea, it has more pull, but it’s really not needed even if you are pulling everyday.
    The monitor is a must in my opinion.

    I'd be interested to see after 10-15k miles what the EGR looks like with the pulsar. Just after watching the Bankspower videos, I'm a bit skeptical still on the Pulsar. Also Pulsar v3 vs Derringer or Pulsar vs DuramaxTuner or PPEI tuning. Just for the longevity of the truck.

      This is the V3 which is completely redesigned compared to the older Pulsar Banks used to test. This product is solid.

      @@JWMontoya Yes, but I would still like to see external testing. Or really just someone that uses it for a while and then shows that hey, we actually fixed the issues pointed out in the earlier versions.

    • @The1m16
      @The1m16 Před 2 lety +3

      @@joeb.8625 I’m not scared by any means. I just want to see results and data. Banks showed just that, and I believe them given the fact of who they are, the reputation they have, and the rigorous amounts of testing they do. While I’m sure Edge has fixed the issues the early ones have had. I would still be interested to see after product revisions. Are they better? Will the truck take it for long years of abuse? Or will it last 10-15-50k miles before you have significant issues? Comments section is probably the wrong place to ask these questions but it’s a start. Plus we know @Truckmaster cares about his truck and will tell us if he has issues with it. Just questions I have.
