  • Set up the Inkscape workspace to suit you. You can customize the user interface to speed up your workflow or just so you can follow along with a tutorial that you’ve seen. This video shows you how to move the command bar to the top, how to set the snapping option that best suits you - I like to have a permanent snapping bar. If some of your controls are missing, I show you how to make them visible again. We look at how you can resize your icons or change how they look, we also look at how to change the theme (both dark themes and light themes), adjusting the page size and colour. We look at where to change your colour pallet and resize the pinned colours.
In this tutorial, I’m using the latest version of Inkscape - Inkscape 1.3.1

Good material - but it would be useful to say something about "grids" and "save template" - Thank You ! Exactly yesterday, I was struggling with the program settings... :-)

This video was just intended to show how you can change your workspace layout. I show you how to open templates and how to save your own templates in this video:

unfortunately I haven't made a video on grids yet. You can turn the grid on: View - Page grid which will give you the default grid. If you want to make changes to the grid or want to use an axonometric grid (with angled lines) you need to open the Document Properties Dialog: File - Document Properties. To use a axonometric grid, click on the grid tab and select axonometric under Creation and press New. You may have both types of grid showing now, you can remove the rectangular grid by selecting the rectangular grid tab under Defined grids and pressing Remove or hiding it by unchecking the Visible check box.
