The "enter group" feature also is activated by double clicking the group ... leaving the group can be done by double clicking outside of the group
I always used node tool, select path then change to select tool but if rotating use the transform panel. Press escape returns to group. Yours is a good tip, many ways to skin that cat.
@@kevinfoo8031 same, I always did that as well. Good to know I won't need that workaround anymore
ISTG I always accidentally do this and get mad that Inkscape ungrouped my group. Only now that I realize they were never ungrouped.
Ctr click works too
With your help, Inkscape has become my favorite application.
Thank you very much for everything you do for us. Following you from Algeria.
Great Video Nick. The hyperlink will also work if you open the svg file in a web browser. Double clicking groups with the select tool will enter them. That needing to reset thing is certainly a bug.
When two Inkscape legends meet
Quick request for the Inkscape developer: Is it possible to have the rest 'faded out' when you enter a group double-clicking, like it is in Illustrator? Maybe for Inkscape 1.4 :)
@@GraphicdesignforFree We do it for the objects/layer dialogs, if you hold alt and hover over the items, I cant image it would be impossible to do as a preference feature.
@@doctormo Thank you so much for considering :) And yes, Alt-hovering over the Layer items is a great feature! Thanks :)
@@doctormo Also, I think it would be a great feature for beginners, because it gives visual feedback when you're inside (or outside) a group. Illustrator also shows at the top how deep you are in a (nested) group, but I find that actually annoying, so you could leave that out :)
The bomb is an appropriate icon for the experimental effects. The only ones I've tried ... crash. Still, cool to see there's more stuff being considered and/or worked on, and to have the ability to help test.
I always like before even video loads ❤
I never understood what 'Enter the group' did, and now I know :)
Okay, I knew about default fill and stroke settings, but I didn't know about "double click to access settings". That's a neat shortcut.
Very helpful tips, thanks for sharing Nick!
Amazing! Inkscape is simply ahead. I‘d like to see you walking through the experimental path effects in a video :)
Another exceptionally helpful tutorial, Nick. Thank you!
Great hidden gems. Thanks!
This is quite informative.
Love it. 💯
Very useful, I really didn't know that Inkscape something like these things can do. Thanks! 😀👍
This tips are going to speed my workflow.. Thanks for sharing!
Left clik fill, right clik border. The most adorable feature in Corel Draw.
thanks! sincerely appreciate it
Great tutorial as allways, please can you show how to use the 3D Box, and retouching tools
Interesting info. Thanks!
Well done! Thank you👍🙏
Wow I didnt know you could put links using inkscape, that is so so so helpfull!!!
💥💥💥 Please cover "Hatches" I know you did a video on them, but they are a poweful tool, especially for artist. Line art, retro circa the early 1900's and other art forms are really just hatches and paths.💥💥💥
Very helpful nick
This is gold! Please dive into adding javascript to the SVGs for dynamic graphics
Thank you
Thank you.
Amazing
The hyperlink though 🤯🤯🤯
I use double left click to "enter group". and double click outside the group the exit
Hi, thanks!
Oh such a shame, didn't know the enter group feature.Thank Nick for showing us features.
I like to make vector art. The stroke that doesn't change every time I create a new shape using a bezier pen is very helpful for completing the vector I want to create
God damnit, I love this channel.
Is it possible to use the links to point towards specific headers inside of the same pdf ?
The inkscape is so amazing and it's still free. It's only a matter of time before they add animation features
Hi
i hope you are doing well
Plz make a video on how we can do picture to path in inkscape
Is it possible to pin a custom color to the palette? For example I like 060808ff for black. (25, 0, 0, 97, 100)
And aslo make a video how we make a logo mockup on 3 side box in inkscape
Can I use the PDF hyperlinks tool to add relevant page jumps from a PDF’s Table of Contents page?
If the PDF is very long I think Scribus might be a better option.
As in, create the PDF with Inkscape then switch to Scribus to make the anchors and let Scribus generate the table of contents,.
I don't think Inkscape would be user-friendly with that task.
@@riel4553 Well, I’d just be editing poorly mastered PDFs with links rather than making the PDFs themselves, but thanks!
Is there any way to make an area, or for example, a text where when you click it takes you to a specific page?
For example, in a summary there is the number of each chapter, just click on them and you are taken in the PDF to the page in question.
Hi, great tutorials. ShortQ: how can i inhibit the blank proyect that emerges every time i open any proyect?
If you mean by changing the default page settings when you first open inkscape there's a video about that a couple videos back.
ok saw that video, I'm meaning to Block the blank proyect that emerges even if i open any .svg file... i have tried to get rid of that but couldnt find that preference
I am an Inkscape user on Linux and I would like you to recommend a good motion graphics program
What I am really trying to figure out, is how to make hyperlinks that jump to another page within the same document. Seems like it should be straight forward, but I haven't found any documentation on it.

Can the taskbar be moved to the right
Nick, m facing problems with Star and polygon shape....
I was just playing around using ctrl , alt , shift n all with stars and polygon shape ...
Suddenly, the object started taking random shapes....now whenever I open ..the problems are still the same....
Is there some glitch??? How can I resolve it..
Sounds like you have the randomness turned up in the toolbar.
@@doctormorandomness??🤔🤔
Can you pls elaborate
@@donatello4456 With the polygon/star tool selected the toolbar has options in it, the last one on the right side is called "Randomized" set this to zero.
@@doctormo ow.....thanks sooo much...ya I see it...
Haha...my rounded and random was set to some numbers....thanks pal..👍👍
Already knew about the pin colour, though that was accidental
Isolation mode for grouped objects ? Not there. 1.3.2
