The Hammer! Possibly the greatest LBer ever.
Hometown Johnstown PA legend
I met Jack Ham in the 80s through a mutual friend and I can't say enough about what a great experience it was. He took so much time talking to and learning about me with genuine interest and kindness, and he was the superstar. He is definitely a superstar human! Glad to see him here again!
I started watching football 1974. That is when i first became a Steelers fan and here I remain to this day.
Legendary đ€đ. Givem ALL theyâre flowers while theyâre here. Legendary franchise, legendary humans that help build up the Standard we see today. Thankyou Moats. đ
Damn MoatsâŠ.Larry Brown now Jack Ham. Man this is too much for one week. My childhood heroes were all on this team. Thank you for allowing some of their stories to be told uninterrupted and in totality. These stories are all like gold!
Great interview!!!
This man is from an era of no Instagram, no TickTok,, no ââMe! Me! Me!,â Iâm above the team;â and no other individual goal - but to contribute and win. He, and his teammates, were professionals that exhibited how to win with pride and poise. Thatâs why no one, NO ONE, has worn his jersey since he retired!
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!
HOFer - Jack Ham #59
That 26 minutes felt like 10 minutes
Living legend
What a class act! Truly a legend. I am grateful that I grew up during the hey days of Steelers. Also got to meet Jack Ham and his wife....wonderful people.
Great interview man. Cheers!
Moats I truly hope you appreciate how fortunate you are to get to interview such true legendary players! My childhood heroes! I could never interview them. I get too emotional just watching your interviews with them! Jack friggin Ham, man!!! Just listening to his voice brings back so many great memories! Ive got goosebumps!! I wish I could give this 1000 likes!
The hammer the 2nd greatest outside linebacker of all time only to Lawrence Taylor in my opinion, the numbers don't lie, he was unbelievable as a coverage linebacker.
That defense is, to this day, the greatest there ever was.
They literally had to change the league rules because this man and his teammates were constantly destroying opposing offenses.
Funny thing is, they adapted to the changes and got even more dominant.
One of the ""GREAT"" ones , Loved watching him play
A HOF man in every respect - a class player and a classy guy.
Jack Ham = my favourite Steeler of all time.
JACK HAMMER đš!!!!!!
I like how he remembers Joe Pa. Paterno was great until he wasn't great but you can't deny his passion for the game. Go lions!!
Jack was the "quiet" beast. He just went out and played hard, but certainly earned the nickname Hammer.
Lambert smoking cigarettes and doing shots at halftime. Hell yeah.
Everyone talking about jack ham lovely man I already knew that but that man in front of the camera seeing he was in front of it and moving out of the way is a straight goat amongst men
Killin it as always, Moats!!
As a true sam backer none was ever better.Taylor was the goat but he was a rush end.

I can't imagine Ham NOT being a Steeler...Mas Dog Sweeney
Tackling Csonka is like tackling a F'in Bull...Mad Dog đ Sweeney
the story he told around 14:30 is the opposite of what we're seeing now. Our d-line is dominant when healthy, but they aren't right now, and Bush, Spillane and Shobert are struggling because of it. Jack literally admitted he was so good because the guys in front of him were even better. Wait till Devin Bush has that, he will be back to true form. Trust.
Inexplicable that Penn St was the ONLY full scholarship Jack Ham received for college. Heâs STILL perhaps THE MOST FUNDAMENTALLY PERFECT professional athlete Iâve ever seen in ANY sport! That includes Mark Belanger (defense only), Mia Hamm, Tom Brady (as much as I hate to admit it), Roger Federer, Oscar Robertson, Lionel Messi, Joe Jacoby, Ken Griffey Jr, and Annika Sorenstam. I challenge anyone to watch HOURS of film of Jack Ham, and try to identify ANY professional athlete with a better âfundamentalâ skill set. From his lateral run coverage to his tackling technique to his drop-back pass coverage to his instinctive positioning and âsixth senseâ ability, Jack Ham was generally poetry in motion! Period!
